We had a very average experience. The location is beautiful and scenic. The hotel however is not 5 star and dated. Staff were inexperienced and slow. Lifeguards were incredibly rude. Our aircon and lights keep malfunctioning and going on in the middle of the night for the duration of our stay. Will definitely not be going back

Second time there so I’m definitely a fan. The resort beach and gardens are spectacular and service is great. But it is a 5* resort so the bar is high. If I’m being picky there are three issues they need to fix to be truly 5 stars : 1) the gym is really tiny and inadequate for a resort of this scale 2) There is no resort shop and the town is quite far. I don’t expect a supermarket - there are 5 restaurants - but just the basics would be helpful in a resort this size: a few crisps, chocolates, nuts etc. 3) The bar on both beaches close at 5pm; eventhough sunset is 8pm. I believe in high season the bars are open later but the hotel is still pretty busy in September and I’d want to grab a drink until the beach closes.

It was amazing, if you are planning to visit Skiathos, Elivi is a must. The staff was truly an experience we will never forget. Elivi is truly a 5 star. If your are looking for a wow factor this is the place.

The location is pure paradise. The hotel very comfortable, spacious and accommodating. The staff were all fantastic with smiles on their faces and eager to please. Service with a smile as they say. Probably one of the best hotels for beauty and relaxation I have been too!

We spent 3 nights at Elivi in a Junior Suite with Private Pool in the ‘Nest Grove’ section of the resort. We were happy with our stay but felt that there was significant room for improvement given the price point (we paid €627/night) and supposed 5* rating. Positives: Really enjoyed the private beach access with free sun loungers – very convenient. Although given the size of the resort, we only ever spent time at Big Banana beach (the beach closest to the ‘Nest Grove’ area where we were staying) – the distances were quite far to walk in the heat, and buggies/golf carts were never really readily available. Our room was a good size and we liked the large outdoor space with the private plunge pool (although note that it’s not private at all – there aren’t any fences around our outdoor space vs. the public space and the outdoor space of the room next to ours, so you can see/hear everything that’s going on in the ‘private’ pool next to ours - perhaps better for two families / couples travelling together who can book out both rooms next to each other). Negatives: Breakfast was disappointing compared to other 5* hotels we’ve stayed at in Greece and elsewhere in the Mediterranean – limited selection of food/drink (e.g. only orange juice, and no other juices/smoothies; there is no olive oil provided at the buffet or at the table – if you ask, they will give you some poor quality olive oil in a single-serve plastic bottle; there is no hot food cooked-to-order – there is supposedly an omelet station but it was never staffed, so in reality you had to ask your server to get one ordered). Room amenities: Toiletries were unacceptable for a 5* hotel since you were only provided with a 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash and conditioner – it’s standard even in 4* (and especially at this price point!) to have separate shampoo / conditioner / body wash, from reputable brands. Room also lacked a smart TV (for Netflix etc.). Lack of turndown service – really unacceptable for a 5* hotel. You could apparently request turndown service, but the one and only time we did, all that involved was a delivery of fresh towels, rather than a clean of the room and turndown for the evening. Gym was truly unacceptable for a 5* hotel – tiny room in a windowless basement comprising one bench (with weights only going up to 14kg), one treadmill and one cardio bike. For this price point and 5* rating, would’ve expected an expansive space overlooking the water with a variety of equipment. Service: Staff was generally friendly but could be warmer. Disappointed by the checkout experience whereby one of our restaurant meals were missing from our bill (~€120) which we took the initiative to point out was missing. It then took the staff >20 minutes (after repeated chasing by us) to get this sorted, when we were the ones wanting to give them more money! No gesture of goodwill from them despite pointing this out – and good thing we weren’t in a rush to get our ferry given the delay here. For this price point (€627/night), there are plenty of nicer resorts elsewhere in Greece and in the Mediterranean where you can get much better value for your money.
