I’ve stayed at many resorts and hotels in Cabo, and one thing is always consistent—the Mexican hospitality is incredible. The people are warm, welcoming, and truly make every stay enjoyable. I’ve experienced great service, food, and locations at most places I’ve visited. That said, while this resort had some positive aspects, it was not my favorite—especially considering the price point. I expected it to stand out more compared to other resorts in the area. One area for improvement would be the availability of shaded seating around the pool. Guests shouldn’t have to wake up extremely early just to secure a comfortable, shaded spot. Additionally, the alcoholic drinks at the pool bar were disappointing despite trying a variety of options. On the other hand, the drinks at the lounge were excellent and much more enjoyable. The service throughout the resort was friendly and attentive, and the juice bar was a standout—fresh, delicious, and a great addition. I also appreciated the fact that the staff was not overly pushy on trying to sell their vacation club options, which made for a more relaxed experience overall. With a few improvements, this resort has the potential to better match its price and deliver a more well-rounded experience.

Family and I had a great time. Ocean view room had an incredible view for us. The room was good but the over head shower nozzle didn't work. The restaurants were decent and the buffet options were pretty good. Only thing that would've made it better would be the addition of entertainment options. The kids water park is really intended for small kids. Any kid above 6-7 years old will get bored of it in about 20 minutes. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again

Honestly, when I booked this hotel, my biggest concern was that we might regret our choice once we arrived or that we would get bored during our 8-night stay. However, from the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The restaurants were spotless and offered excellent food quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the housekeeping service was consistently great. There were nightly entertainment shows, which made our evenings enjoyable, and the kids’ playground was fantastic. The staff working there were kind, patient, and wonderful with children. The pool and kids’ play areas were also very nice. The only small issue was the lack of canopies or shaded areas around the children’s pool area, as the morning sun could be quite strong for the kids.Overall, we had an amazing stay and truly enjoyed our vacation. We would like to thank the management and all the staff for making our stay so memorable. We are confident that we will return to this hotel again in the future.

We stayed at Hyatt Ziva for 4 days, and it was such a happy and wonderful experience. When we arrived, Alfonso helped us with check-in, and we were so grateful for how kind and thoughtful he was. He understood exactly what we needed and made everything very easy and comfortable for us. Our concierge, Adrian, took care of everything we needed from the beginning to the end of our stay. Thanks to his attentive help and perfect arrangements, we were able to enjoy our vacation without any inconvenience at all. He continued to look after us with such care until the day we left. The hotel facilities were very clean and well organized, which we really appreciated. We also traveled with our young grandchildren, and we loved that the hotel atmosphere and all the facilities were very family-friendly. One small downside was that the rooms located in shaded areas felt quite humid because of the moisture. It would be even better if there were a better ventilation system to help reduce the humidity. We are so thankful to both Adrian and Alfonso for making our stay so special. If anyone plans to visit Los Cabos, we will definitely recommend Hyatt Ziva, and we will absolutely come back to Hyatt Ziva ourselves!

I want to share an honest, mixed review of our stay during 10 days at Hyatt Ziva San José del Cabo — there were real high points, but also things that need work. We The good: Julia, one of the managers, was extremely helpful and made a real difference in our stay. On our first day, when we forgot our room number, she helped us get seated at a restaurant without any hassle. But she really went above and beyond on our last night. Throughout the whole vacation we never got to visit the French restaurant, since it’s adults-only and we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our child with the kids’ club after our earlier experience there. When I mentioned it was our last night and we’d hoped to try it at least once, Julia offered to either bring the French restaurant’s food to our room for all three of us, or let us sit at any restaurant and order from the French menu so they could serve it to us there. That kind of thoughtful, flexible service is exactly what makes a stay memorable. The dining had some real standouts. The French restaurant was the best of them all — excellent foie gras, filet mignon, and onion soup. Close behind was the seafood restaurant: every Friday they bring in a whole bluefin tuna, cut fresh in front of everyone by Jose (a really nice guy), so guests can enjoy any part of it — otoro, chutoro, and more. It’s a fascinating and delicious experience. The Japanese restaurant was also great — good food and service, and our server, a very nice and helpful guy from Cuba (whose name I unfortunately forgot), made it even better. The Indian restaurant had delicious food too. The Mexican restaurant, on the other hand, wasn’t good and the food wasn’t fresh, and everything else was nothing special. The nightly shows were great too; we loved the fire show the most. We also really appreciated Bryan, who helped us with luggage and valet parking — he’s a fisherman himself and gave me some great tips on local spots to fish. The not-so-good: The general dining left a lot to be desired. Before giving anything to your kids, taste it yourself first — some dishes had a strange, almost moldy flavor, and it often felt like dinner was made from the day’s leftovers. Pre-cut fruit still had stickers on it, and the dining hall was unexpectedly closed on both Friday and Thursday evenings. Service was inconsistent. My wife and child came for breakfast, sat down, and no one came by — but when I (the one leaving tips) arrived, staff immediately offered drinks. One waitress stood counting her tips instead of clearing dishes. We were turned away from fresh juice at 11 a.m., denied ice cream at the bar (“freezer’s broken”), and ordered a cake that was on display only to be told it wasn’t available. Toilet paper we requested never arrived. Seating was dirty in many spots. The kids’ club was disappointing — staff mostly talked among themselves and paid little attention to the children. After playing there with our child two days in a row, we were suddenly told parents weren’t allowed in. Housekeeping was hit or miss. We left a tip but returned at 2 p.m. to an uncleaned room — the tip was gone, towels weren’t replaced, the bed wasn’t changed. Our first room also had a bad smell but fortunately was replaced with much better room right away after I spoke to receptionist, the only issue in new room was the shower which swung between freezing and scalding with an unpleasant odor. A few other notes: pool loungers sat “reserved” with belongings for hours while no one used them, the ocean was too rough to swim (you could hear the waves from the 7th floor), and the Japanese restaurant got very loud. Bottom line: It’s a genuinely mixed experience. The standout staff — Julia, Jose, Bryan, and our server from Cuba — along with unique touches like the Friday tuna, the French restaurant, and the fire show left a great impression. But the food quality at the buffet, inconsistent service, and housekeeping issues need serious attention. I’d probably stay here again, but I hope management takes this feedback to heart and improves on the things above.
