5☆plus. We were in the "Retreat" camp, which is smaller than the main lodge. It has only 4 huts but it's own restaurant, pool, and relaxing areas. The hurs themselves are very comfortable. The food was great, the guides and staff all super helpful. We had great luck on our game drives and saw all big five and much more. The retreat lodge has both drives and safari walks, which are OK for most but perhaps not for some seniors or others whose mobility isn't 100% (like me).

We stayed at Motswari for 3 nights and it was by far the best place/experience we have ever had!! Magic and Eden our guide and tracker were superb and made the game drives we did very special. They really made the experience for us. With 2 game drives a day we had lots of opportunities to see wildlife and we were lucky enough to see the big 5. We never had more than 6 people in our truck so it felt like a really intimate experience. The food at Motswari is amazing. So much choice and plenty of it! The staff and service were exceptional. It has a very friendly family vibe and we really enjoyed seeing all the staff throughout the day. Our room was beautiful and clean and felt very quiet and private. Easy to get to from Hoedspruit airport - we drove in and directions were clear.

We had an incredible few days at Motswari and it was the perfect start to our honeymoon. We arrived in time for our evening game drive. CJ and Hendry were our guide & tracker and were incredible, we could not have asked for more kind, enthusiastic, funny and knowledgeable people. We saw an abundance of wildlife (elephants, giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, lions, leopards, hyenas wild dogs, hippos, crocodiles etc.). CJ and Hendry really made the trip so special and we had such fun on our drives. The lodge itself is beautiful, good, varied food and in abundance. We were lucky to see about 40 elephants crossing the river in front of the lodge. The bush breakfast was a lovely surprise and the in room/massage was very nice. The whole vibe was friendly, casual and high quality and the rooms were beautifully designed. Our stay in the giraffe's nest was very special, lovely meal again and huge bar. We were joined at 2am by an elephant coming to the watering hole to drink! Thank you everyone who made our stay so special!

We are Hongkongers who stayed 3 nights at Motswari, and we loved every moment of it. We had an excellent experience here. The Motswari staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic. The environment is great, and the food was delicious – especially the omelette at breakfast. This trip was perfect, even though we saw only 4 of the Big 5 (buffalo eluded us). A huge thank you to our guide Owen and tracker Henry – they were professional, nice, and very knowledgeable. During our bush drives, we saw: Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Mongoose, Waterbuck, Impala, Kudu, Warthog, Wildebeest, and many birds. We also saw monkeys right in Motswari! We truly love the bush break, especially bush coffee with Amarula. On our last night, we were so surprised and delighted by a campfire party with BBQ food and drinks. We saw the whole night sky filled with stars and the galaxy. Just a remarkable journey. We truly love Motswari. Thank you for everything.

We stayed at the Geiger’s camp for 3 nights, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Geiger’s camp, the staff, guide and tracker go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. The staff was very friendly and outgoing and took the time to learn more about all the guests and take a genuine interest in where we came from and our different experiences. One thing that was a little disappointing for us was that we never got to have the boma experience, which was something we were really looking forward to. Also while the food itself was quite good, the menu consisted of main courses serving varieties of game meats. While I myself enjoyed it, it would have been nice to have a heads up or alternative options for those who aren’t feeling as adventurous. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
