A dream location on a beautiful island in Thailand. The rooms are comfortable, the facilities are excellent, and the entire property is peaceful, well-maintained, and professionally managed. That said, something is missing to elevate this resort from very good to truly exceptional. It lacks the extra touch—the memorable "wow factor" that distinguishes the world's finest luxury resorts. Everything is pleasant and of high quality, but there is little that feels genuinely unique or unforgettable. One aspect I personally found frustrating is the pricing transparency. This is clearly a premium resort, and there is nothing wrong with charging premium prices. However, instead of advertising rates and then adding a 10% service charge plus VAT, I would prefer the resort to be more upfront about the true cost. Luxury should feel effortless, and unexpected additions to the bill detract from that experience. In the world of resorts it's definitely 5-Star, in the world of 5-Star resorts it's more 4-Star.

Where to begin with the Pimalai? This is comprehensively the best hotel experience I have ever had. We stayed for 5 nights in Koh Lanta as part of our honeymoon trip and the setting could not have been more perfect. From the moment the transfer collects you and whisks you onto the beach arrival by private boat you have the feeling that this hotel is so self-assured in the excellence it serves. We knew we were in safe hands. Every detail has been covered, and thought through for your comfort and convenience. The room TV even carried a channel for PL Football and 6Nations Rugby! Having made good use of the facilities, spa, restaurants, drinks menus, scuba desk, excursions and concierge; the team were endlessly helpful to ensure it was a perfect stay. A special word must go to the staff who were all so friendly and welcoming. They are obviously very proud of the island and the beautiful national park forest that the hotel backs onto, and do their best to reverently share it with you. The hotel’s design ethos really blends into the islands beauty and heritage for traditional crafts using local materials and inspiration. A heartfelt 10/10

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The views are absolutely stunning, the service is very attentive, and the hotel has its own app which makes communication very convenient. The hotel has two sections—one by the sea and one up on the hill—and you can call the hotel's shuttle for transfers. If you're going with friends, you can request two rooms in a private courtyard, which offers both privacy and the chance to chat with friends. Dining at the restaurant on the hill is an ultimate pleasure. The pool up on the hill also offers great views, and the gym is located there as well. The hotel gift shop sells beautiful products at reasonable prices "What I remember vividly is that when the hotel sent us to the airport and we were about to leave, the hotel's on-site staff at the airport warmly accompanied us all the way to the security checkpoint."

Picked up from Krabi Airport. Airport transfers seamless both ways. Checked in with Poon. Again every pleasant and quick. Rooms were very clean and well equipped. Good sleep quality. Mattress and pillows were good. Views from rooms 126 and 128 were fantastic... overlooking the Andaman sea. Breakfast was good. Though if staying more than 5 days gets a bit monotonous, need more variety. Lai at the restaurant was very helpful every morning. The gym was well equipped. Bicycle trainers and treadmills were all working. A separate room for aerial yoga. All the staff we encountered were polite, smiling and courteous. Always obliging to help. Grounds lush and well kept. Rak Talay restaurant was not up to the mark. I think when it comes to Asian cuisine, one should stay loyal to the asian culture. Modifying the dishes to western palates does not do justice to the rich Thai food. Did not dare try other restaurants because we came for Thai food. Went to Same2 but different next door, Ala Carte by Auntie Nang down the road and drove out for some Thai meals. Came to relax and do nothing. And that is what we did. Rented a car to move around the island. Overall, a fantastic place to spend 5 nights. Truly enjoyed and well rested!!!

We chose Pimalai as the venue for our wedding ceremony, and we honestly could not be happier with our decision. The hotel is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking surroundings that made our special day feel truly magical. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was incredibly helpful, and the level of service was beyond exceptional. From start to finish, the organization of our wedding was completely top-notch. Communication throughout the planning process was extremely prompt, clear, and effortless, which made everything feel so easy and stress-free. The team was incredibly accommodating and happy to change or adjust anything to suit exactly what we wanted. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. A huge thank you goes to Khun Apple, our wedding coordinator, who made everything feel so simple and seamless. She was outstanding on the day and truly went above and beyond. We would highly recommend Pimalai — it is genuinely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
