A hotel of pros and cons. Pros. A Great location. An excellent pool area at the main hotel. Mostly good and helpful staff. Cons. Don't waste your time with online check in. I had to go through most of the process again on arrival despite numerous emails assuring me my room was ready and I just needed to pick my keys up. Also the ask any questions email was a waste of time. I'm still waiting for a response!!. Arriving at the Main hotel and then having to take all your luggage 100 metres up the road to the annex hotel, the Ocas. Only 2 lifts and one OOO for at least 4days. It was still out when I left. Only breakfast in the Ocas. If you're on HB or FB you have to go next door for other meals. No bar facilities in Ocas either. All in all not the best of experiences.

I have just returned from a week all inclusive at this hotel and I had an absolute blast! There are a lot of reviews complaining about the food but for a 3 star hotel I couldn’t have expected more! The lifts aren’t lighting fast but they do work and they don’t take as long as these exaggerated reviews would have you believe! The pool is absolutely amazing and I’ve never swam so much! The swim up bar isn’t included in all inclusive but the other bar is 30 feet away, again, it’s a non issue. Our room was clean and beds made, towels replaced daily, and the cleaning staff were pleasant. One of our friends has mobility issues so she emailed ahead of time and requested that she have a room on a lower floor. The gave her the very first room on the first floor so that was extremely appreciated! I think a lot of reviews complaining about this hotel are expecting 5 star treatment at a 3 star hotel. I would definitely return!

Hotel feedback NEGATIVES Pool: - Pool water too cold, please can it be warmed up a little bit please. - It would be nice if we could use lilos in the Pelicanos pool Toilets by the Pool: Have no locks on the doors and one door does not even close properly you have to prop it shut with the sanitary bin Room: - Pillows smelt, they were not very clean. - One of the cleaners did not properly clean the bathroom and also left the balcony door open. - The table on the balcony had bird poo on the table for three days, we twice asked for this to be cleaned which was not. Eventually I intercepted the cleaning lady and directed her to our room and asked her to clean the table which she did. - Balcony area did not seem to be swept and mopped for a good few days. - We had left items on the table in the room which one day were removed. They took the paper cups which we had paid for and removed a water bottle. So I reported this to reception who gave me tokens for the cups removed. I also left a note on the table asking them not to remove any items from this table. Generally we found the staff to be very nice and polite but there was one member of staff at the pool bar area who was quite rude, she was very dismissive of me each time she served me, so I avoided her in the end. Restaurant: - Breakfast meals were always very nice but the evening meals were sometimes not so good. A lot of the meats were so tough you could not eat them, and often the chicken did not seem cooked. We had to change meals because of this so there was a lot of wasted food. - Sometimes the food was not hot at all it was lukewarm and the potatoes and veg were not even lukewarm - There was ALWAYS FLYS on the fruits. Toilets in general: Quite a few times there was no paper towels in the toilets Lifts The lifts are very temperamental and they could do with getting these replaced. They are very old and take ages to come and often 1 is always not working . POSITIVES Staff on Reception were always very nice, helpful and polite. We love the hotel, the location, the pool, the security guard at the pool. This was our third year visiting and hope to return next year, hopefully our feedback will address these issues highlighted. We would like to thank the staff for making the hotel, we know they work very hard and we do appreciate this. Sadly there is always one bad apple in the basket that spoils the hard work of all the others. Entertainment staff were very good and we appreciate all their hard work, especially we love Diego fireball aqua aerobics dance. But thank you.

I’ve just returned from a two-week stay at this hotel in Benidorm and overall had a really positive experience. The receptionists, cleaners, and bar staff were especially great — always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. While not every single staff interaction stood out, the majority of the team really did make a positive impression and added to the stay. The food was good overall. There was always a decent variety and something for everyone, so you definitely wouldn’t go hungry. We did choose to eat out a few times just for a change of scenery, but the hotel food itself was perfectly fine and reliable. The entertainment was excellent both during the day and at night, with plenty going on to keep people entertained. Even though I didn’t have kids with me, the children’s entertainment in particular looked phenomenal and seemed to be a real highlight for families. One small thing to mention is that the pool bar wasn’t included in the all-inclusive package, which was a little disappointing. Also, although check-in is clearly stated as 4pm, it would be great if there was an option for earlier check-in or a bit of flexibility, as arriving earlier in the day can mean quite a wait. There is somewhere to store your luggage, which is helpful, but it’s just something worth being aware of. Overall, I’d say this is a great hotel with a welcoming atmosphere, and I’d definitely consider staying here again.

⭐⭐⭐ A decent stay, but nothing exceptional Overall, I had a reasonably good stay at Sol Pelícanos in Benidorm. The hotel has some good points, particularly the pool areas. There are actually two pool areas: a nicer, more upmarket pool area, which is quieter and more pleasant, and the main pool, which is absolutely massive. As with most hotels, you need to get up early if you want to secure a good spot. The nicer pool area is definitely my preference, but the downside is that the number of sunbeds with umbrellas there is quite limited. The hotel could really improve this by investing in a few more umbrellas, which would make a big difference and hopefully reduce the morning rush to get a sunbed. It did become noticeably better once the school holidays were over and the hotel was less busy. The room, however, was a little disappointing. It was very small, and the cleaning could have been better. There were quite a few marks on the walls and signs of general wear and tear. It wasn't terrible and everything was usable, but it definitely felt like the room could do with some attention. I was half board, and the food was pretty much what you would expect from a large hotel. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either — just okay. Nothing particularly special, but it did the job and there was generally enough choice. Drink prices were also quite reasonable for a hotel. One thing I was particularly disappointed with was the lack of response to an email I sent to the hotel regarding a package I was expecting to have delivered. I received absolutely no reply, which I found quite rude and disappointing. Even if they weren't able to help, I would have appreciated at least a response. Overall, I wouldn't say this is an amazing hotel, but I wouldn't say it was bad either. There are definitely some areas that could be improved, particularly the rooms and communication with guests. For me, it's a solid three-star experience — perfectly okay for a stay in Benidorm, but don't expect anything spectacular. Staff were lovely!
