I am genuinely sad to write this review, but it reflects what happened as objectively as I can describe it. We stayed 7 nights in July 2026 (two rooms, adults‑only, all‑inclusive) and had one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had in a resort. On arrival, there was a huge garbage pile near the beach entrance, with a strong smell, which was only cleaned after about two days. The toilet in our room became blocked and was left unusable for a full day; we had to ask three times before someone came, and even then it was unclogged but not cleaned. There was a full‑day power outage that made the rooms essentially unlivable, and in the following days we had repeated issues with hot water and water supply. Both my partner and I developed symptoms consistent with food poisoning after eating at the buffet and lost several days of our holiday. When my partner’s symptoms became severe, the resort insisted on arranging a taxi to a private hospital, saying an ambulance would take too long. For two very short rides (around 10 minutes each way) we were charged 62 USD. When I questioned the price and said that about 40 USD would be more reasonable, the answer was that at a lower price “they would not make any profit.” Hearing that in the middle of a medical emergency was shocking and reinforced the impression that revenue mattered more than guests’ health. What made all of this much worse was how people handled it. Management showed very little interest in guests’ wellbeing: almost no proactive communication, no follow‑up even when they knew we were sick for days, and a constant feeling that problems were “not their concern”. In many interactions, the priority seemed to be protecting revenue rather than helping guests. Some waiters were genuinely kind and tried their best, and we appreciated those individuals. However, others appeared clearly uninterested, focused mainly on tips, and overall service felt inconsistent and unreliable. When we needed help or clear information, we often received vague answers or indifference. The property itself has potential (the landscaping is truly beautiful), but with management behaving as if profit matters more than guests and with staff not prepared to handle serious issues, we cannot recommend this resort and would not return.

This beautiful resort feels like a total immersion in a botanical garden, surrounded by lush palms and vibrant birdlife. The bungalow-style rooms add a unique, peaceful touch to the experience. It is worth noting that this isn't a "party" destination; the atmosphere is quiet and never feels crowded. Evening entertainment is low-key and charming, featuring "Piano Paul" at the martini bar or the occasional poolside band. ​While the food was generally okay, I would have loved to see a wider variety of tropical fruits and traditional Jamaican dishes. The highlights were definitely the Chef’s Showcase and the a la carte dinner; the quality during those evenings was where the resort truly shined. ​Although the property isn’t beachfront, the walk to the sand takes only a couple of minutes, and there is always a guard available to help you cross the road safely. The beach area is well-equipped with a bar, grill, and very clean restrooms. There are plenty of chairs available, though you'll want to head down early if you have your heart set on a cabana (usually a few becomes available early afternoon).Staying for the sunset is a must! Available on the beach are also free watersports. ​The true heart of this resort is the people. The staff and locals are incredibly happy and inspiring, and they are the primary reason I would return. A special mention goes to the friendly resident cats and goats that add so much character to the grounds.

Came here for our honeymoon, resort is pretty however the electricity went out on our first day. Staff did not tell us until we went up to fix my husbands room key and they let us know our dinner reservations were cancelled and couldn’t reschedule before we left. We got to the room and it was easily 87° in that room, as one can expect when there’s no AC. They kept promising it would be fixed and never was. I am pregnant and overheating is not healthy so we decided to move resorts. Our phones were almost dead and we packed in the dark. The concierge was nice enough to help set up transportation to our new resort and we were able to get a refund. Other than the one concierge, staff was very rude and stand off ish. You have to walk across a busy road to get to the beach and are haggled to buy things the whole way. Staff on the beach bar were laying and sitting on the countertops, you do not get any sort of beach service at all which is not common in my previous resort stays. House keeping threw our belongings onto a chair rather than folding things as customary. Upon receiving the refund, Expedia said they were told we stayed two nights rather than one so we had to figure that out as well while being out over $3,000. The food is decent, better than the second resort but not great at all. Concierge staff are responsive and helpful and that is about it. The landscaping is beautiful, they did acknowledge our honeymoon with a door sign which was kind. Entertainment is not much of a thing at this resort, so I’d bring a book or game to play if you enjoy those types of things. Overall I would not recommend staying here, but mostly I would advice to never stay in negril as the second resort was worse than this one.

First time in Jamaica and Sunset At The Palms did not disappoint. Waiting staff Christina and Shannnon, Lynette in the gift shop and Damion at the pool / beach and all others all went above and beyond to make our time here special. Hotel was also everything we had hoped it would be, quiet and tranquil. Food good. Without a doubt would come back

Worst vacation and very expensive room 607 every day and issue,no hot water,ac liquing, we lost power for a whole day and we found out that the property had a generator yes for emergencies but was broken, room was not clean properly she just swife the broom on floor to get dirt ,not usind a wet broom or anything we saw all this in front of our eyes .we are not making this up ,toilet overfloww,no body came to fix it until next day ,called front desk and sent pictures ,this was an emergency. We had to clean our selfs placing towels on floor full of pop.no telefono service in the roomto call for assistance.no electricity for a whole day.fell inside the room.fell front the boat excursion bad.Our magnetic bracelets stop working been locked out our room.Had to go to front desk to change. You come to the front desk and complain nothing gets done.they give you a dirty look.they opened our luggage and stole a bottle of liquor. Our luggage was closed in the room by me checked several make sure that it was closed before we left the room,and yes both of them were very closed for them to pickup for departure. We didn't notice anything unusual until we got to the airport. In luggage was taken out of the car.Our luggage lock was opened. .Taxi driver just placed items in the back placed luggage into car and we left.those locks are not easy to opened. Ww had used them many times in our luggage when we travel.And never ,never had anything stolen or opened in any of the countries that we had visit .But guess what.they only opened my husband suitcase that is were the liquor was,next to bottle was a bag of coffee that was left a wonder why..Wifi was not available at all times ever in the room. Be aware of this place ,before you book any vacations ,hotel is not 5 star.They have no conditions, my husband was sick for the last 4 days a bacteria in stomach, having the runs every 15 minutes,so 4 days with out able to eat because sickness. A d the only thing they say they trust their employees, but I found out from review s from other people.same issues happening. In other instances was cash taken and other things. At least in my case it was a bottle of liquor as a gift to my dad.we have pictures of this.be aware before you book any vacation. Hotel is out dated and very old with no proper condition for tourism. Food was the almost the same no variety for a 5 star hotel.jerk chicken pork loin ,fish, vegetables, rice,mashed potatoes, every day. I can only speak for our really bad experience that we had Instead of enjoying our honeymoon. Was a nightmare in Jamaica.
