Many family-friendly hotels come equipped with water slides and playgrounds. Or, if you’re on a romantic adult-only retreat with the love of your life, the poolside bar will equip you with a tantalising beverage or two. You’ll also find that many hotels boast a stunning beachfront location. Enjoy a leisurely stroll to feel the soft white sand beneath your toes and cool off in the refreshing aquamarine waters. Day one of your holiday is also perfect for a pamper session in the sumptuous spa, before dining on a delicious meal in the on-site restaurant.

Day 2 - Adventure

For the ultimate adventure getaway, the Caribbean is perfect. Start your tropical holiday off on the right foot by getting straight into fun-filled moments. These paradise islands offer a sublime blend of beaches and crystal-clear waters, which you can explore with a variety of water sports. Venture beneath the waves with some snorkelling or scuba diving to discover colourful coral reefs and exotic marine life, swimming alongside sharks and stingrays. There’s also kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, parasailing, water skiing and much more to choose from. A Tobago holiday offers unmissable moments on glass-bottom boat trips around Buccoo Bay, where the lush mangroves shelter an array of wildlife. For exhilarating rafting excursions, head to the epic Rio Grande river in Jamaica. Or, you can take in the awe-inspiring sights of Reach Falls, just one of Jamaica’s many mystical waters boasting freshwater pools and hiking routes. Across every island, holidaymakers can experience helicopter rides, horse riding, ATV tours and caving.

Caribbean

Day 3 - Culture

The Caribbean is a hive of cultural immersion. Regardless of which paradise island you choose for your dream getaway, you’ll be surrounded by wondrous sites, intriguing attractions and a rich heritage. Begin day three by venturing into the local town or city. Most Caribbean capitals are brimming with a rich past. Explore Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated on the serene island of Antigua. You’ll also find a museum, craft shop and restaurant here. Further north, the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda displays over 10 thousand year’s worth of this destination’s history in what was formerly a courthouse. For more colourful colonial architecture, Barbados’ capital, Bridgetown, is a hotspot, with more UNESCO-listed sites such as St Ann’s Garrison. The ultimate way to immerse yourself into Caribbean culture is by visiting during one of the Carnival festivals. Taking place in different months across the islands, the costumes, music, food and parades will utterly wow you.

Caribbean

Day 4 - Beach Bliss

Discover soft sandy beaches with unspoilt ocean vistas in each of these island paradises while you relax on your resort’s idyllic shores. Sunbathe, splash in the water or just lay back with a good book and a beverage. For those on a family holiday in the Caribbean, the shores are perfect for sandcastle building and beach sports. Opt for a holiday to St Lucia for the five-mile-long Reduit Beach, situated in Rodney Bay. Fun in the sun can be had on the impressive Splash Island Water Park, which floats just offshore. For an even longer stretch, jet off to Negril, Jamaica, where you’ll find Seven Mile Beach. Stroll along one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean when you visit Barbados’ Crane Beach and its unique pink-coloured sands. For a small entry fee, you can soak up the sunshine on the pristine Pigeon Point in Tobago, where former fishing huts have become charming bars and restaurants.

Caribbean

Day 5 - Cuisine

Day five is all about good food. Explore a fusion of African, European, American, Asian, Middle Eastern and Creole flavours across every Caribbean island. Each sun-soaked destination proudly presents a national dish, all with a deep-rooted history. Sample the likes of pelau in Tobago, ackee and saltfish in Jamaica, cou-cou and flying fish in Barbados or green fig and saltfish in St Lucia. The Caribbean cuisine is heavily influenced by its location in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, meaning seafood is especially popular. If you’re staying in Jamaica, ensure you stop by the birthplace of jerk spice, Boston Bay. You’ll also find a variety of stalls selling moreish street food. Similarly, Oistins Fish Fry, located near Miami Beach in Barbados, is a foodie’s heaven. Visit on the weekend for an unmissable atmosphere, delicious food and live music. The Caribbean hosts an array of food festivals too – keep an eye out when booking your luxury holiday!

Caribbean

Day 6 - Nature

Spend your sixth day in the Caribbean exploring the unparalleled natural beauty of your surroundings. With such varying terrains across all of the islands, you’re sure to discover some magical hidden gems on your travels. St Lucia’s spellbinding south-west coast is dominated by the volcanic mountains, the Pitons, as well as the Sulphur Springs, which is the world’s only “drive-in” volcano and a great place for relaxing in the mud pools, mineral-rich waters and rainforest baths. Jamaica’s Blue Peak Mountain is a superb spot for forest treks, with mesmerising views of the expansive Caribbean waiting at the top. A Barbados getaway will wow you with its stunning landscapes and endemic wildlife. Visit the Barbados Wildlife Reserve in Saint Peter to admire deers, peacocks, Barbados green monkeys, parrots, macaws and tortoises, among other creatures, as you stroll leisurely along the pathways. Time your Caribbean escape with turtle nesting season, which peaks between May and July, for unparalleled magical moments.

Caribbean

Day 7 - Final Moments

While you’ll be heading home today, don’t fret, as you’ll still have access to all of your hotel’s luxury facilities. Enjoy a last mouthwatering meal and refreshing dip in the pool or catch some rays on the beach one more time. If you have enough time, you can indulge in some retail therapy. The Caribbean islands offer a variety of shopping venues, from multi-storey malls to bustling local markets. If you’re staying in Barbados, head over to The Cave Shepard Mall in Bridgetown, the largest department store in the whole Caribbean. For a more authentic shopping experience, those on a holiday to Jamaica will love Kingston’s Coronation Market, which boasts mesmerising sights, sounds and smells. Then it’s back to the airport for your journey home. If you're not quite finished with your Caribbean getaway, opt for a luxury cruise holiday with liners such as Royal Caribbean International, MSC Cruises, Virgin Voyages and Princess Cruises to choose from.
