We have just enjoyed a fabulous five days at this hotel. Wonderful environment, great location, stunning view, tasty and varied food, and if I could give the staff 6 stars, I would! I highly recommend this hotel. The weather has been a little chilly (end February) and I wish I’d brought a jacket, but we’ve had blue skies and sunshine every day, and when there’s no wind it’s been warm enough to sunbathe. In summer we can see it would be much more lively here, with lots of beach vibe bars, restaurants and coffee spots to enjoy nearby. At the hotel, be sure to book ahead to have a meal at the Garibaldi fine dining restaurant - a real treat, but it books up at least four days in advance. It was complimentary as part of our half-board deal. The whole team were fabulous, but we had a standout experience with the breakfast and dinner team: Jordan, Xenia, Lotti and Daniel. A couple of tips: you can get the airport bus 612 to the hotel for just 2 euros each BUT they are infrequent and can be very busy. A taxi, by comparison is €35-€45 one way. Or car hire is very reasonable, but it can be tricky to understand the real cost because a lot of online brokers hide the substantial fees for reducing the high XS and deposit. We went back to the airport to arrange to hire a car after a couple of days to understand the real costs better, and Hertz told us they would have delivered to the hotel for free. Maybe others do, too? The island would be very tricky to explore without a car because of the long waits between buses… Re the hotel room, the bed was comfy and super king size, the cleaning was a very good standard, and the room had all the expected basics, plus a turndown service. We were in room 159 above the bar. It was surprisingly quiet all day, but we could hear the piano playing every evening until about 10-10.30pm. Not a problem as we don’t go to bed before that, but not ideal for early nighters. Also, be mindful that more than half of the deluxe full sea view rooms have their balconies at an angle rather than full width of the room as many of the photos show. Not a biggy, but better to know in advance. If you’re thinking of booking, do it. Our stay was a lovely, relaxing experience and we felt really looked after. Thank you, Team ATGBH!

We were lucky enough to spend a week at Alexander the Great over Christmas 2025. The hotel offers multiple pools, a private beach, several restaurants, indoor and outdoor bars, a spa, sauna, steam room, and workout room. Also, one of our favorite features on top of all that, a fantastic, wide, shady porch to sit with a coffee or drink and have a chat, read a book, or play cards. We booked Half-Board, 2 meals a day, which we chose breakfast and dinner, and loved the variety and special themes in the restaurants. Our room was slightly warm, and since it was the end of December, no Air Con was available, only heat. The hotel left a large fan in our room, and it was great for running at night and keeping us cool for sleeping. The hotel is perfectly located, right on the boardwalk that runs for miles along the coastline. It's an easy, less than 10-minute walk, to the Harbor, which is lined with café restaurants and shops, and also right there is the fortress and archeological sites. We walked the boardwalk every day, in both directions, for miles. It was so easy to pop into one of the many bars and restaurants for a drink, snack, or meal. Along with spending time on the porch, trying a dip in the water (cold for us, others were swimming!), seeing the tourist sights, catching amazing sunsets, and meeting new friends at the hotel, we had wonderful, relaxing, entertaining days in Paphos. There are other very large hotels along the same strip of coast, but we were glad that we had chosen Alexander the Great. It is large enough to offer many amenities, but also offers a warm-hearted welcome to it. All the staff, from front desk to the restaurants and bars are so nice and friendly. Highly Recommend!!

Though a 4* hotel, it could easily qualify for 5*. We usually avoid large hotels for various reasons. Though a large, family friendly hotel, it doesn't feel crowded. The adults area is well appreciated. High quality in everything: from food to towels, from the attentive service to the facilities and activities offered even off-season. Great location - walking distance to the harbour. Make sure you get a sea view room. The added value to your stay certainly exceeds the price difference.

It was a really good hotel. The staff is friendly, we were welcomed with a drink. The room is quite quiet when there are no kids running and screaming. The room is big and spacious. The decor is nice. Breakfast was good. I loved the fact that we could eat in the second restaurant cause the first one was full. I could choose this hotel for the next trip to Cyprus.

Mr. Bogdan performs his duties with great care and professionalism. He always appears at the perfect moment, quickly and discreetly clearing the plates so guests can fully enjoy their meals. He is polite, friendly, and very professional, which creates a pleasant dining atmosphere. He takes excellent care of cleanliness and order in the restaurant, and it is clear that he works with dedication and respect for guests. His positive attitude truly makes a difference.
