Very Disappointing and Misleading “All-Inclusive” Experience – Do NOT Recommend I made a reservation at Bay Gardens Hotel from December 30 to January 2 to bring my mother and other family members (3 adults and 1 child) to spend a happy New Year together. With the goal that everyone could truly enjoy the vacation, I chose the ALL-INCLUSIVE option, which unfortunately turned out to be misleading, deceptive, and extremely disappointing. We arrived at the hotel a little after 2:00 PM and completed the check-in process. The front desk agent informed us that the room was not ready yet (which is understandable since check-in time is 4:00 PM). During the paperwork, I was told that we had free access to Bay Gardens Resort. When I asked about lunch and dinner, I was shocked to learn that New Year’s Eve dinner (December 31) would cost an extra USD 25 per person at Bay Gardens Hotel, or USD 50 per person if we wanted to dine at Bay Gardens Resort. This was unbelievable, since I had already paid for ALL-INCLUSIVE, which by definition should include meals. When I questioned this, the only response I received was a simple “Sorry.” At that moment, I honestly felt cheated and robbed, but since our vacation was just starting, I decided not to argue and hoped things would improve. I then asked if we could at least receive the wristbands to have a drink or eat something, as we had just arrived and had not had lunch. I was told NO, that wristbands are only given once the room is ready. So I had no choice but to take my family to a nearby restaurant and pay out of pocket. Later, once we finally received the room, we went down to the small pool. There were no towels available at the towel hut, and when I tried to order a drink at the bar, I was told I had to pay for it, because it was not included in the all-inclusive. At that point, I seriously wondered: What exactly is included in this “All-Inclusive” package? I requested to speak with a manager to get some clarification or help. Unfortunately, the manager only provided excuses instead of solutions. I explained that at no point during the booking process were we informed about all these restrictions, limitations, extra charges, how far the beach is, or that access to the water park is not straightforward. Bay Gardens Hotel has been one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I highly DO NOT recommend it. Last year, I spent New Year’s at Coconut Bay Hotel, and the experience was completely different: a true ALL-INCLUSIVE, comfortable, transparent, with no restrictions, limitations, or surprise extra payments. Unfortunately, this year it was already fully booked. I have also stayed at Sandals and Windjammer, and the difference in service and honesty is enormous. I am not writing this review to destroy anyone, but with the sincere intention that management takes action, improves the service, or stops offering an “All-Inclusive” package that they cannot truly deliver. At the same time, I want to warn future guests so they are not misled, scammed, or forced to go through the same bad moments and uncomfortable days that my family and I experienced—especially during what was supposed to be a happy New Year celebration.

Had an amazing stay here with my five year-old daughter lots of amenities to offer including beach shuttle walk-in distance to many amenities. Great value great staff great food. Great drinks an amazing time.

Room 309 was unacceptable. No hot water, almost no water pressure, and paper-thin walls where you can hear every neighbor. On top of that, the telephone in the room was disconnected and did not work, so we had to walk to the reception just to communicate with staff. A basic hot shower shouldn’t be a luxury, but here it was impossible. Thankfully, we only stayed one night and spent the rest of our nights at the Royalton, which was a completely different experience. This place is not worth the price and offers poor value for money. Do not stay here if comfort, rest, or a proper shower matter to you. I would not recommend this hotel.

My stay at Bay Gardens hotel was lovely. Mainly because of the staff. They were so kind and helpful each day. I was here on a work trip, and would often come back home tired. They would always welcome me and make me smile. Thank you!

Room 239 / This was one of the most frustrating hotel stays I’ve ever had. Before arriving, I completed online check-in, which clearly stated that I would be placed on the bottom floor with a garden view and a balcony. I specifically needed this because I currently have a broken leg and have difficulty walking. When I arrived, the hotel placed me two stories up at the very back of the property. Before even going to the room, I went back to the front desk and explained my situation, clearly stating that I had a broken leg and could not walk that far or manage stairs. Despite this, the staff refused to change my room and showed no willingness to accommodate a legitimate mobility issue. The food was another major disappointment. I ordered Rasta pasta for my entire family, expecting an authentic local dish. Instead, every single plate had no chicken at all and tasted like plain spaghetti with ground beef—something you’d get in the U.S., not while vacationing in St. Lucia. It was extremely misleading and unacceptable. The “all-inclusive” experience was also misleading. When we ordered drinks, we requested plastic cups so we could take them with us, since glass cups were not allowed outside the bar area. We were told the hotel does not have any plastic cups at all. How does an all-inclusive hotel not have basic cups? What is the point of paying for an all-inclusive stay for multiple nights if I still have to go out and spend extra money, the same way I would if I booked an Airbnb? Overall, the lack of accommodation, poor food quality, and unhelpful service made us feel unwelcome and undervalued. Just because guests are Americans does not mean they should be treated as if they are unimportant or undeserving of basic respect and service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
