Room - Booked King suite with pool and sea view nearly 12 months prior to arriving. Only to find when I arrived that I was placed on the ground floor with no view of the pool or sea, and due to the hotel being sold out as a conference was more important than high paying guests nothing could be done to fix this room wise, was given discount on a meal. Also I’ve stayed and worked in Hilton’s and to have my full room rate charged at check in is very strange. Then on check out to here that because another guest is a higher tier member than myself they did not have room rate taken. Service - the islands motto is ‘No Stress’, if visiting take that very literally as you will wait on end to be served and once served you will more than likely have to chase where your food and drink is. Multiple times waited over 30 mins. A number of times throughout our 11 night stay food arrived before drinks and had to ask where drinks were after food has arrived. Location - Can not really fault the location of the hotel it is right on the beach with easy access to Santa Maria town and well connected with taxi services and excursions, but due to all of the other problems listed above was not able to fully enjoy this holiday. Overall, this hotel lets the Hilton brand down, last few days at breakfast buffet wasn’t replenished as often and overall quality was lower than first part of the holiday, and after settling my extra room service charges the day before check out and paying directly on card for my final dinner at the bounty beach restaurant for the hotel to also charge this to my room and try and make me double pay at checkout. I chose this holiday for our first family holiday with our son and a milestone in mine and partner’s relationship. It’s safe to say I won’t be returning or recommending any friends or family to visit this hotel.

The Hiton Cabo Verde is a nice hotel. The staff is excellent and always willing to help. The only issue was I requested feather free pillows 2 days before my stay and my room had feather pillows on my late 00:30 arrival and the front desk said it was all set when I checked in. I was able to fix the pillow situation myself as no one answer the front desk phone for over 15 minutes. Everything else was nice with room. The breakfast buffet is nice. There are alot of choices and the omelet was delicious. The dinner buffet needs work. The choices where nice but the quality of steak and lamb was poor. The fish was better. The precooked lamb and paella where dry and not very good. The staff was friendly and helpful in the restraunt as well.

We have had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Hilton Cabo Verde. All the staff have been so hospitable and the most accommodating. It was my mother’s 80th birthday and they looked after her in every way… and really made us feel welcome. As people of colour, and Muslims, with a lot of European tourists around us, we stood out but the staff made us feel very special, and looked after us so well. I thank every single staff member.. but special shout outs to Stenio, Nuno, Isaias, Lamia and Sheila. There was also a waiter at breakfast who was so so lovely and kind (I can’t remember his name). I wish them all well. Food There were lots of great food choices-the pastas were amazing, lobster and lots of food options for us. Though we stayed for 10 days so the food options did become slightly repetitive. But as we stayed bed and breakfast we also went into town to eat too. The mocktails were also great! Facilities The sea…. Oh the sea, absolutely breathtaking and one of the best bits for us. Especially because the lifeguards were brilliant. My mum is addicted to sea swimming but the water was a bit rough. One of the female lifeguards watched mum for a bit and realised she wanted to go in. So she guided her in and stayed with her while she swam. It was so so kind and she really gave mum confidence. The spa is A-MAZING, we went several times for treatments and I don’t think I’ve felt so relaxed… my mum loved it too! The gym was also excellent, and so there was no excuse not to use the facilities.. I actually managed to get there most days! I would definitely come and stay again, and would highly recommend this hotel if you’re coming to Sal.

Overrated. We booked 4 nights here with half board, and our expectations were high given the price we paid. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing for several reasons: Service: Constant confusion over our room number—staff repeatedly asked for it and often mixed up our board type, claiming we had full board instead of half board. Mistakes were also made with our drinks everyday. Room: Upon arrival, the bathroom had hairs on the floor. The rooms felt a bit worn and not worth the price. Facilities: The pool was nice, and its next to the beach but the spa was small and expensive (1-hour massage €85 – really?), 10min walking you have excellent massage for 24€. Food: The buffet was repetitive, and I’d rate it 5/10. The only highlight was the fresh tuna at the BBQ. You will be bored of it. Breakfast: Many options were unhealthy, and the fruit was surprisingly tasteless. How is it possible to have such bad fruit here? Drinks: A 0.5L water bottle refilled at the buffet costs €4. Yes, 4 euros—making you feel like you’re at the Ritz in London. Beach bar: Extremely slow service; we waited an hour for two burgers. Honestly, if the price were lower, I might not complain—but for what we paid, we felt cheated. It will take some time to recover from this experience, Hilton.

5/5 Stars - A Wonderful Experience We had a fantastic stay here as Diamond members. The welcome amenities of champagne, chocolate, and fresh fruit were a lovely touch and much appreciated. All the staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. A special thank you to Lamia at the Reception, who was so kind and provided us with a lot of helpful information. Also a young gentleman with longhair was so kind to keep going back and forth on my behalf to negotiate with a taxi driver. We also enjoyed meals at the hotel's restaurants, which were delicious and reasonably priced. It was a consistently excellent experience, and we look forward to returning.
