Really lovely hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy with good facilities. All inclusive buffet was nice, with good selection of food - plenty of drinks options too. There aren't a huge selection of places to eat in the area if you don't go all inclusive. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Pools are lovely and clean and beach is huge, with a safe swimming area, but be careful along the rest of the beach as sea can be unpredictable. There isn't a huge amount to do in the area if you want to be active, so definitely book some excursions. One thing we did find very refreshing was the use of reusable plastic glasses by the pool, as so many hotels seem to go for use-once cups, which are so wasteful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Last year my partner & I went to Boa Vista we enjoyed it that much we agreed we should go to Sal. We booked the Melia Llana when I researched it up I was concerned about some of the negative reviews people had put on the Hotel site. After returning home after an amazing relaxing holiday at the Melia Llana, I realized my worries were unfounded. You could have the best Hotel in the world & still have issues, it’s the way you deal with any issues that count it’s no good being the best without customer service. This I can say is what the Melia Llana excels at. Any issues were dealt with swiftly, professionally & in such an exceptional way I cannot praise the manager, staff & one person “Leonardo” enough. He is a credit & asset to the Melia Llana Hotel, thank you Leonardo so much for making our stay so memorable. I wouldn’t hesitate to return there again it was so relaxing & such a welcoming Hotel with nearby bars to enjoy also. The Hospitality & cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional as was the food. So to all the excellent staff thank you all We had a wonderful time at a wonderful Hotel with wonderful staff. Kind regards Robert & Allie 🤗🥰💋

Just had a week at the Melia Llana. As others have said it's not a 5 star hotel, but certainly 4 star. Plus points are: Great location Friendly staff Good choice of food All inclusive drinks not bad and includes some cocktails. Rooms cleaned daily. Good variety of entertainment. Big comfortable rooms. (Yes, beds are hard, but comfortable). Negative points (Room for improvement). Breakfast can be chaotic. No cups and no coffee. Staff seem to not be managed and short staffed at times Allowing towels to be put on sun loungers and left half the day and not used. We booked a swim up room purely so we knew we had somewhere to sit. Towels removed by cleaners from rooms. Told will be replaced later, but they don't turn up. Had to ask and they arrived after 9pm. Internet in room is hit and miss whether it connects or not. It is better in main areas, but not much better. Drinks in room supposed to be every two days. Had to ask after three days. Then sorted myself with staff. Not my job attitude in certain areas. Blue gloves next to path all week. Most staff passing them every day and not picking up. Only Ceylon teabags mostly available. Not really catering for UK market. Overall a great holiday, but I think management needs to look into certain areas. Maybe give restaurant staff more responsibility and possibly job progression.

We are almost at the end or our 11 night holiday at Melia llana Our first visit to Cape Verde, all in all we have had great time, made even more special by the fantastic Animation team, big thanks to Eden what a great lad also shout out to Christianos Bruno Stefan and the girls all a credit to your hotel The rooms need updating and the cleaners a refresher course, towels not replenished and the mini bar, whuch we were informed would be every 2 days. The buffet restaurant is generally good, however go early as popular dishes are not replaced. The snack bar and bbq food was lovely and the staff and service amazing, however stay clear of the Casa Nostra itallan, food undercooked and service awful. Santa Maria worth a visit for the bars and restaurants.

The reviews of this resort really scared be before arriving but don’t let them scare you. The staff are extremely lovely and can’t do enough for you. The buffet to be honest was bad, we have to avoid as it reminds me of stodgy school dinners (puddings were good!). VIP is a great upgrade and allows you to eat in some lovely restaurants.. the best is the Japanese Nami. We didn’t face any hygiene issues. They constantly switch the food out every 5-10 minutes, the staff are really on the ball with cleaning tables, cutlery, surfaces & offering/refilling peoples drinks. If you use your common sense & sanitise, you will literally be fine. The beds are a little hard, but you can just ask for a mattress topper and they put it on straight away! Upon arrival they offer you drinks and almost immediately take your bags for you, guide you to your room and give you all the information you need. The wifi isn’t spectacular, but it does the job. It’s a really lovely resort and a great place to get some winter sun. It was really warm 26/27 all week (it is breezy but that’s quite nice to cool you down!) They also offer a large range of exercise classes daily. I did the stretch and Pilates classes, they were basic but very good. Nice outside location. The pool is very cold.. I’m not sure why they don’t use solar power to heat it. Over all a great stay but the buffet does need significant attention.
