Would rate 0 if I could, hotel is far from a 5 star resort! From the minute we arrived it all went down hill considering we’re Melia gold. Despite our flight landing in the afternoon and arriving well past advised check in, our suite wasn’t ready. When querying we were dismissed by a rude receptionist and told to move out the way for other guests. The food is absolutely diabolical, several of our party were ill, one ending up in hospital on a drip. We were without water in our rooms constantly over 3 days (for showers, sinks and toilet!) when several people are ill from the food and minimal updates are provided this is terrible basic hygiene. The ‘VIP’ package (which is €50 a day per person) isn’t vip, you still have to pay extra for Ciroc or Grey Goose etc. They tell you ‘premium’ alcohol is available at every bar, this isn’t true, only certain bars have them so if you’re at a pool which isn’t close you have to walk across half the resort for your drinks. Communication is terrible, the reception manager confirmed with us 3 times over WhatsApp our booking for the Teppanyaki, we arrived and only half our group had been booked onto the table and other groups had been booked on. Lucky a group of 2 didn’t turn up so they squeezed our party in. (restaurant isn’t part of the hotel & the food was great! Just watch your bill as several extra drinks on there). When walking back to our room live electricity from a damaged light had been tape over and covered with a Fanta bottle from the rain. Popping into the general store for a look, be prepared to pay €40 for sun cream if you haven’t brought any, €30 for insect repellent (mosquitos are rife here!) or €45 for pool toys. Several of our party ended up flying home 3 days early due to all of the above. Would strongly advise you avoid at all costs. Unfortunately can’t post videos on google reviews to show the facilities not working. Edit - further videos added. Also day 4 of not having any water/ hot water in our suite.

We recently returned from a 7-night stay at Meliá Llana, and unfortunately, it falls far short of a 5-star standard. While there were a few bright spots thanks to the hardworking bar staff, the overall experience was severely let down by poor maintenance, room issues, and catering problems. The Room & Maintenance Issues Our room was in dire need of upkeep. The bed was rock solid and very uncomfortable. Lighting throughout the room was extremely dim, fixtures were literally hanging off the walls, and the shower door was missing its handle. The shower itself had constant drainage issues, and we were provided with a holey dressing gown and inadequate shower gel. Basic room service standards were consistently missed - on numerous occasions, bottled water was not replaced, and fresh room towels were regularly forgotten. Dining & Hygiene The dining experience was another major disappointment: * Casa Nostra: Very disappointing overall with tiny portions. * Buffet Restaurant: Constantly slow to replenish food items. They regularly ran out of glasses for water at breakfast. To make matters worse, there is no air conditioning in the main restaurant, making meals uncomfortably hot. * Health Impact: I suffered from severe tummy issues and was ill for 5 days of our 7-day holiday (still waiting on test results). Pool & Amenities For a luxury resort, forcing guests to pay a deposit for pool towels feels a bit cheeky as you'd expect these to be provided. Several towels provided over the week were tatty and full of holes. On top of that, evening entertainment after 9pm was very poor. The Positives It wasn't all negative, and a few key highlights deserve credit: * Avenue Bar: The live singers provided a great atmosphere, and the staff here were fantastic. * Pool Bar: Special shout-out to Ahmed and Maxwell, who were wonderfully attentive and friendly throughout our stay. * Other Highlights: The resort cats were a lovely addition, the Wi-Fi was surprisingly strong and reliable, and the Mojitos were refreshing (even if the alcohol content felt a bit light!). Between getting ill, the lack of basic maintenance, and poor hospitality standards, this is simply not a 5-star hotel. We wouldn't return or recommend it.

Just had a week at the Melia Llana. As others have said it's not a 5 star hotel, but certainly 4 star. Plus points are: Great location Friendly staff Good choice of food All inclusive drinks not bad and includes some cocktails. Rooms cleaned daily. Good variety of entertainment. Big comfortable rooms. (Yes, beds are hard, but comfortable). Negative points (Room for improvement). Breakfast can be chaotic. No cups and no coffee. Staff seem to not be managed and short staffed at times Allowing towels to be put on sun loungers and left half the day and not used. We booked a swim up room purely so we knew we had somewhere to sit. Towels removed by cleaners from rooms. Told will be replaced later, but they don't turn up. Had to ask and they arrived after 9pm. Internet in room is hit and miss whether it connects or not. It is better in main areas, but not much better. Drinks in room supposed to be every two days. Had to ask after three days. Then sorted myself with staff. Not my job attitude in certain areas. Blue gloves next to path all week. Most staff passing them every day and not picking up. Only Ceylon teabags mostly available. Not really catering for UK market. Overall a great holiday, but I think management needs to look into certain areas. Maybe give restaurant staff more responsibility and possibly job progression.

I traveled with my wife, and because of a recent gastric surgery, I was a bit worried. However, the professionalism and care from the entire Meliá Llana team exceeded all expectations. Chef Mário (Casa Nostra): Prepared a fantastic meal tailored to my dietary restrictions.Kymber (Bars): Very kind and careful with the preparation of my fresh juices. Jair (Maintenance): Fixed our room's air conditioning incredibly fast. Lara (Restaurant Supervisor): Indefatigable and exemplary in supporting my health needs. Director Cátia: For her extreme kindness and attention toward us.Congratulations on such an excellent and deeply human staff. We recommend this hotel 100% and will definitely return!

Really lovely hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy with good facilities. All inclusive buffet was nice, with good selection of food - plenty of drinks options too. There aren't a huge selection of places to eat in the area if you don't go all inclusive. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Pools are lovely and clean and beach is huge, with a safe swimming area, but be careful along the rest of the beach as sea can be unpredictable. There isn't a huge amount to do in the area if you want to be active, so definitely book some excursions. One thing we did find very refreshing was the use of reusable plastic glasses by the pool, as so many hotels seem to go for use-once cups, which are so wasteful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
