The room wasn’t amazing, it’s gonna be narrow, this is manhattan. The location is fantastic, close to all of lower manhattan. Front desk staff was professional and helpful. Breakfast looked beautiful (few kosher options, but coffee and a banana was fine for me). If you need a local hotel, the price is right. It is BUSY, so expect the elevator to the full in the morning going down. We took the stairs from 8th floor because it wasn’t worth waiting.

Great location. Close to all key subway stations, allowing for quick access throughout Manhattan. In the morning, you can enjoy a morning jog along the entire waterfront of lower midtown and northern Manhattan. A very decent and filling breakfast is provided, lasting until the afternoon. The rooms are tidy, if a bit plain, but you wouldn't expect anything less at this price. Highly recommended.

Overall this was a great experience. Nikki (the lady at the counter) made my experience extra special, she had an amazing attitude the whole time and offered a lot of accommodations and recommendations when we needed it. The location of this hotel is also great. I was able to use multiple train stations nearby to arrive at the hotel late at night and during the day, which is specially important if you are visiting NYC. The traffic can be ridiculous so being able to take the train to avoid it is extremely helpful. The place was clean and well maintained, except one night when the elevator wasn't working for 45 minutes! Breakfast is a money saver though don't expect anything fancy. I was able to eat oatmeal as a healthy option.

My stay has been extremely unpleasant and disappointing. We are traveling during winter, with temperatures around -12°C, and upon arrival we noticed that the heating/air conditioning system was not working. We immediately informed the front desk and left the hotel. When we returned later that night, the heating was still not working. We were then offered a room change, but the alternative room had only one bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed is terrible quality — very thin, small, and completely uncomfortable. We specifically booked a room with two beds because we are traveling with friends. As a result, I am now forced to sleep on the floor, since the sofa bed structure is unacceptable. To make matters worse, in our original room (room 1104), the bathroom sink drain was also not functioning properly. The drain would not open or close, causing water to accumulate in the sink. Overall, this has been a completely negative and unacceptable experience, especially considering the weather conditions and basic expectations for comfort and functionality.

It's a standard Holiday Inn Express setup done well: free hot breakfast buffet every morning (good selection of eggs, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee — really convenient to fuel up before heading out), fitness center, and clean, modern rooms. Rooms were comfortable — beds slept great, clean, decent size for Manhattan (not tiny), flat-screen TV, good Wi-Fi/AC, and everything in working order. Nothing luxurious, but solid and quiet — 4 stars.
