Wonderful hotel in a great part of the city! Clean rooms, friendly service, and beautiful, historic building. It also has a little diner attached which is very convenient and has pretty good food, especially the breakfast. The only downfall of this hotel is the size of the rooms (at least the one we stayed in). VERY small! Not much room to put any luggage. If you were a solo traveler, it wouldn't be too bad, but for 3-4 people in one room, there's literally nowhere to put your stuff unfortunately. However, the comfort of the beds, the cleanliness of the rooms and whole hotel, the friendly staff and doormen, and the location within the city make it a great place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

This is what hotel promised for our metro city view double: "Stylish Art Deco design with amazing views. Room varies 240-260 square. Views may vary from image." The first room that they sent us to was a shabby little room that that had a view of the next building across the street. When I said that was not what I paid for, we got a room on the 33th floor. The view was better, but it was still small and shabby. It needed new carpet and fresh paint. But I did not want to spend all my vacation time with the manager. The towels in the closet stank, so I had to ask new ones in the morning. The carpet in the corridor was dirty and worn. Walls needed paint and the floorboards were full of skuffmarks. Few years back I was in this hotel and it was nice, fresh and the room was nicely decorated. This visit was not what I expected. What also did not belong into a hotel of this level, was another hotel chain's vacation rental promotion at the congierge desk. First I was delighted as they offered a NYC map, but when I realized that they stopped a tired traveller to peddle another hotel, I was dismayed.

I truly enjoyed our stay at The New Yorker Hotel! This place is an absolute icon - the Art Deco style from the 1920s is simply beautiful. The prices are fair considering the prime location, right in the heart of Manhattan. If you take the subway from the airport, it stops literally in front of the hotel, which is super convenient. I stayed on the 21st floor and had booked a room with a view. The room size was perfectly fine - after all, you're out exploring most of the time, and space in New York is limited anyway. There was even a closet to store our luggage. The bed was very comfortable, and even though the bathroom was a bit worn, it had its own charming, authentic New York character. Everything was spotless - special thanks to the housekeeping team for keeping our room perfectly clean every day! My only small disappointment was that my view faced Madison Square Garden, and another building blocked the direct view of the Empire State Building. But honestly, that didn't diminish my experience at all. If you want to stay right in the middle of the action and sleep in a hotel full of history - don't hesitate, just book it! 100% New York vibes!

Really enjoyed our stay but During my stay, my partner and ***I had an upsetting experience that I feel future guests should be aware of****** When we arrived, we were greeted by what we believed were hotel staff. They were extremely friendly and complimentary, which initially made us trust them. Only later did we realise they were using high-pressure tactics to promote an “event” where we could supposedly win a holiday. They told us it was a simple raffle-style opportunity, but we later understood it was connected to the “Wyndham” holiday-prize scam. They encouraged us to pay $60 to attend, didn’t give us a moment to think, and created a sense of urgency so we’d go along with it. Because we thought they were staff, we assumed it was legitimate. Once in our room, I researched the company and immediately discovered the warnings. Upon my research I discovered the event you attend is actually a way to get to buy a time share/some kind of pyriamd scheme. I was extremely distressed, I felt so anxious and SICK as I just arrived in a new country and our home for the week and felt we had been scammed instantly. I went to speak to the hotel manager, where I actually burst into tears. Thankfully, one of the doormen encouraged me to report the situation—suggesting this may happen often—and the hotel refunded the cost of the tour. I’m grateful to the hotel staff who helped once I reported it, but I strongly believe guests should be warned not to engage with anyone offering holiday on the premises unless clearly confirmed by the hotel.

This hotel was ok, its nice and a great location, but not even a travel kettle in our room, not sure why they supplied plastic cups in our room. Rooms are clean a little dated but still good. Beds very comfy. The "facilty fee" threw us off guard. €200 for 4 of us. I asked what it is for, so it's for domestic & international calls, which we did not make. Access to the business centre & gym, we did not use. WiFi was used sparingly as we were back at bedtime. It's a horrible, sneaky fee to put on tourists & you have no choice but to pay at the start of your trip. Left us short for our holiday. Also, if you want to leave your luggage after check out, you are charged per bag for that. I strongly advise anyone to do your research before booking to ensure you are not caught off guard with these hidden fees. New York is a great city & I will be back.
