The location can't be beat as its minutes walking from the World Trade Center, Battery Park (Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island), and excellent eateries popular in New York such as Essa Bagel, Joe's Pizza, and Xian Famous Foods. Couple subway stops are also 2 minutes away. Rooms are showing its age, although it was one of the few hotels in the area that can accommodate a family of 5. Most hotel rooms in NYC can fit 2-4, not 5. It was reasonably clean and the area was very safe just steps from Wall Street. The front desk and breakfast staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. I can't say the same of the house keeping staff. They weren't mean per se, but they weren't friendly either. Breakfast wasn't good, however its steps away from great bagel shops. The prices were high though, although its probably because its New York City. It was 5 times more than what we usually pay at other Residence Inns and 3 times more than what we paid for a Residence Inn on Long Island.

We stayed at your hotel from December 24 to December 30, and it was our very first trip to New York City. This visit will stay in our hearts forever, largely thanks to our wonderful experience at your hotel. I would like to especially thank the front desk staff member, Jane. When she found out it was my birthday, she kindly upgraded us to the best room in our category — a beautiful corner room with an amazing view of Lower Manhattan. Her thoughtfulness and warm attitude made our stay truly unforgettable. Jane was incredibly helpful with every request — always quick, friendly, and solution-oriented. That kind of service is rare and truly appreciated. Breakfast was included in the stay, and we loved that it was possible to take food to-go — we often enjoyed it in our room. Housekeeping came daily, everything was clean, and the 17th floor was impressively quiet, even in such a busy city. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The service, comfort, and hospitality were top-notch. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York City!

I can offer a unique perspective on this hotel, as I lived here for over two months after my home was impacted by a fire and I was relocated during repairs. Throughout my stay, the entire staff—front desk, lobby, and room attendants—were consistently helpful, kind, friendly, and respectful. The location is outstanding. FiDi (especially this location off Broadway) is impressive, charming, and incredibly convenient to food/bars/coffee etc., with easy access to nearly everything in NYC and even Jersey City. (During winter, take the long indoor walk through the Oculus to Brookfield Place, and check out Eataly). I am grateful for my time at this hotel and for the staff who supported me during such a long and unexpected stay. If you’re considering a hotel in the area, this place truly is a gem.

The Residence Inn Downtown is exactly what you hope for in a longer-stay hotel in NY. Rooms are more spacious with kitchenettes that actually work, and the layout feels more like a small apartment than a typical hotel. Beds were comfortable and the location can’t be beat - a short walk to the WTC memorial, transit and great coffee spots. Staff were friendly and efficient and the free breakfast was simple but solid. Not flashy, just dependable and convenient for exploring lower Manhattan.

This was such a good location for our needs on our trip to Manhattan. It is a very easy walk to the World Trade Center area and everything else in lower Manhattan. Easy walk to Whole Foods to stock up your kitchen in the room. There are many subway lines you can catch from WTC or Fulton Street. The hotel doesn't have as much food options as some other Marriotts but they give you a per diem to spend on food/drink in their little shop which helps. The elevators are fast which is really helpful when staying in a busy 19 floor hotel! We found all the staff friendly & helpful and really enjoyed our stay.
