I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience I had during my recent stay. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, providing a perfect environment for rest and relaxation. The service throughout was excellent, with the staff demonstrating professionalism and genuine care. I would like to especially acknowledge Mr. Raed at the reception and Mr. Mohammed Gouda, F&b Manager. Their efforts truly stood out and made a significant difference. Dining in the restaurant was a unique experience, thanks to the delicious food and the wonderful team of chefs who prepared it. Overall, the dedication and kindness of your staff made our visit memorable, and we look forward to returning in the future.

It is not about how many guests a hotel has, but how much attention it gives to quality, hospitality, and following proper standards. Fanar Hotel Salalah truly showed a different level of hospitality during this period of low occupancy. We stayed in a hotel that is normally capable of hosting hundreds of guests, yet during our visit it was welcoming only a few families. Despite this, every single team member from reception to transportation was fully supportive and genuinely committed to making our stay comfortable. The highlight for us was the restaurant. The variety of food, the absence of repetition, and the daily preparation of fresh starters and desserts were impressive. The chefs, particularly from India and Egypt, took the time to understand guests’ tastes and preferences, creating a beautiful showcase of Indian and Egyptian cuisine alongside international dishes. Experiencing authentic Egyptian flavors and a different Indian dish each day made our stay truly special. The restaurant staff paid attention to every guest, the housekeeping team worked efficiently with great care, and the lifeguards at both the pool and beach were attentive even when only one child was swimming. The pool bar added to the experience with refreshing drinks, and the activity team kept the evenings lively for children with daily programs. What Fanar’s teamwork created for us was truly memorable. We are already looking forward to coming back this time, hopefully, under normal conditions.

I’m honestly not sure how this hotel manages to maintain a 5 star rating. To start with the positive aspects: • The beach and pool area are nice, even though the beach is more like a closed lagoon with no water movement. • The hotel restaurant had a good breakfast and dinner buffet. • The location is great, and the Hawana area is very nice for walking around and exploring restaurants and shops. As for the negative aspects, I will first point out that the fact that a hotel being old does not necessarily mean it cannot provide a good experience, as long as it compensates with cleanliness, presentation, good service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. To begin with, the reception area looks very dated and was staffed by only one attendant at a time, giving a poor first impression. Attached is a picture of the first thing we saw when stepping out of the lift to go to our room: mattresses piled up in the hallway. They stayed there during our entire stay. The room amenities were also very poor. Attached is a picture of the shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispensers, which were brandless and labelled with improvised tags which looked very low quality. There was no dental kit in the room, so we had to request one from reception. It took more than 20 minutes to arrive, despite it being after 10:00 PM. At check out, we asked to leave our luggage at reception while we had breakfast. Instead of arranging for someone to assist us, the receptionist had us carry all our bags outside the hotel to show us their storage room and leave the luggage there ourselves. The beach/pool bar doesn't assist with bringing any food or drinks order to our seats in the beach or pool, we need to carry all ourselves no matter how many items we ordered. Overall, these are the details that make a stay feel premium or not. Based on my experience, I have stayed at many 3 star hotels that offered much better experience than this.

The hotel is very nice, clean. The staff is always helpful. The food is varied, very delicious (compliments to the chef). Huge beach on the ocean, many pools. I never felt that it was crowded. All ages can find their own entertainment options. I can only recommend it.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Fanar Hotel in Salalah. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large balcony. The beach area is extensive, with several different beaches offering plenty of shade, palm trees, and various sports activities. There were daily activities such as aqua gym and yoga, which we enjoyed. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and always helpful. The food was varied and offered good choices. The only downsides were that smoking is very common and there is no clear separation between smoking and non-smoking areas, for example in the outdoor restaurant, which was uncomfortable for us as non-smokers. Additionally, there was often loud music in the evenings, sometimes until after 11 p.m., coming from different areas such as the nearby marina. The hotel is also quite large and can feel crowded at times, especially during meals.
