We stayed 4 days at hakuna majiwe for our honey moon and it was fantastic. The hotel is well located in a quiet beach between page and jambiani, ideal for a good rest but at good walking distance (or 5k per tuktuk ride) to page. The hotel staff is very welcoming and made our stay fantastic. Besides of the good swimming pool, beach bench, and restaurant, the hotel offers delicious cocktails and mocktails. Our favourite one was hakuna majiwe special ;) a “strong” virgin mojito with fresh passion fruit! If you visit, try one! Special thanks to Mery who took great care of us and helped us at any point along our stay!

We loved our stay at Hakuna Majiwe! The staff are so friendly and we truly miss them. Our children fell in love with the place, specially my boy. This morning at home he put his ears to the shell we bought and said he can almost hear Sirus...the GM of the place. Sirus was so lovely and warm, the little conversations he would have with you at the end of a long day really made it feel like we had returned home. Thank you to the girls who cleaned our rooms and the staff at the restaurant as well, so sweet and polite.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the accommodation did not match what was advertised online. During our stay, we had to change rooms three times due to ongoing issues. Basic facilities were simply not up to standard: there was no hot water, the air conditioning was so noisy it was impossible to use at night, and a mosquito net – which was clearly listed as included – was not provided. The bed was of very poor quality and made loud creaking noises, making it difficult to get any proper rest. The sheets were covered in stains. The beach area was poorly maintained and looked nothing like the photos shown online, which we found very misleading. Additionally, there was very limited availability of food and drinks, with many items on the menu not being available. The hotel also lacked any atmosphere, as we appeared to be the only guests staying, which made the experience feel uncomfortable and disappointing. We raised these issues during our stay, but they were not resolved in a satisfactory way. As a result, we decided to leave early after only 3 nights, despite having booked 11 nights. Because of this, we were forced to book another hotel at our own expense in order to salvage our holiday, which resulted in significant additional costs. Do not expect any form of compensation or willingness to resolve issues from the hotel. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, and we would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Hakuna Majiwe. The staff were the kindest we’ve encountered so far, especially Mary and Carolina, who were incredibly helpful, as well as the rest of the management team who assisted us with everything we needed. One morning, when we had to leave very early and would have missed breakfast, they even prepared a takeaway breakfast package for us the night before! The rooms were also very clean and well-maintained. We would be happy to return! Greetings from Romania

I had a wonderful leisure stay at Hakuna Majiwe Lodge for three nights. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. The food was a definite highlight — fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, with a great variety that made every meal enjoyable. The overall atmosphere of the lodge was peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the beauty of Zanzibar. I truly appreciated the hospitality and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a calm, enjoyable getaway with excellent service and food. I would happily stay here again!
