Top resort staff and facilities. Easy access to beach as well. Staff all easy to communicate and approachable. Always in a good mood. Swimming pools and slides are always a hit with the kids. We were lucky/unlucky with half the hotel under renovations which resulted in lesser crowd for breakfast and the pools. But renovation works noises and dust doesn’t go unnoticeable. Still bearable for my family though this is subjective to different people. Anyway, if you’re always out and about during daytime, shouldn’t be a big bother. Overall, a great experience in Ferringhi. Do note that it takes about 15-20mins to the city/Georgetown area and close to 45mins on a peak hour weekend traffic. I’d recommend to do Ferringhi activities while staying here. Night market, Escape park, Entopia or even Balik Pulau durian/waterfalls stuffs if you’re spending only 1-2 days here.

While it requires a bit of a compromise on location, the overall experience more than makes up for the travel time. Location & Surroundings ​Let’s get the main caveat out of the way: the hotel is located in Batu Ferringhi, which can feel like a bit of a stretch if you are planning to spend all your time in the George Town city centre. Depending on traffic, the drive out can take 30 to 45 minutes. ​However, once you arrive, the immediate surroundings are a major highlight. The hotel sits right on a beautiful stretch of local beach, perfect for evening strolls and catching stunning sunsets. Even better, you don't have to venture far for incredible food. The nearby local restaurants and night markets offer fantastic dining options just a short walk from the lobby, making it easy to enjoy authentic flavors without heading back into the city. ​Service & Hospitality ​What truly elevates this property from a standard resort to a memorable stay is the staff. The customer service here is exceptional. From the front desk to the pool attendants, every team member goes above and beyond with a genuinely warm, helpful attitude. They bring the signature Hard Rock energy without compromising on professionalism, making you feel like a VIP from check-in to checkout. ​The Verdict ​If your priority is being within walking distance of George Town's historic streets, the distance might test your patience. But if you want a vibrant beach holiday supported by some of the best customer service on the island, Hard Rock Hotel Penang is an absolute winner.

Its my second stay. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Ordered a wee birthday decor in the room for my mum and she was happy. Our room has nice view to the pool and beach. The soundproof not so great because you can hear noise from people at the pool area.

Very disappointing experience at Hard Rock Hotel Penang. Check-in was supposed to be at 3PM, but upon arrival we were told the room was still not ready. We only received a call at 4PM informing us that the room was finally available. Not a great start, especially for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. The hotel is currently undergoing major renovations, which made the stay far from relaxing. Expect constant hacking and construction noise daily from around 10AM to 6PM. The lift lobby was also dusty due to the renovation works. Parking was another major issue. The hotel parking was full, and the security guard was unable to assist with any proper solution. We were eventually told to park at another car park located about 500 metres away and past a few other hotels, which was extremely inconvenient. Overall, definitely not worth the money spent. The current condition and service standard do not reflect a 5-star hotel experience. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here until the renovation works are fully completed and services are improved.

Great hotel for families. The staff were excellent, we arrived early and were prepared to sit and wait at the bar for our room at check in time. The front counter agent went out of their way to look around and found an open room right away, it really set our trip on the right foot. Kids play area was great for our nephews with enough seating I could still relax and read. The rock n roll theme was tastefully present and made each morning a delight. We especially liked the elevator music!
