Well, what can I say? The service was excellent, and the room was comfortable and well-maintained. During my stay, the hotel was quite crowded due to the school holidays, but that did not affect the quality of the service. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist whenever we needed something. The breakfast buffet was great, and the food was delicious. Before checking out, we ordered four dishes (two Fish & Chips, one pasta, and one chicken burger). Since we wanted to try a variety of dishes, we requested kid-sized portions. To our surprise, every dish was outstanding. A big salute to the chef and the kitchen team for delivering such delicious meals. Overall, this hotel provided a wonderful experience for me and my family. To the supervisor, if you're reading this, please reward your team accordingly. They truly deserve recognition for their excellent work. What a superb experience!

Beautiful views and great dining staff, but the check-in process and rooms need improvement. ​Upon arrival, the place was very crowded and parking was difficult to find. We had to wait about 15 minutes just for the buggy, and the check-in process took another 15 to 30 minutes. To make matters worse, we were greeted by an Indian lady with a sour face. Fortunately, the staff at the actual reception counter were friendly. ​When we entered the room, it was clear that the property is quite dated. There was peeling wood, and it felt like the hotel management is trying to cut costs as much as possible. ​The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast staff, especially Encik Mohamed Jamal at the counter, as well as the rest of the dining team. Everyone was incredibly friendly and well-trained. The pool and the surrounding scenery are also very beautiful. ​Would I come back? Probably not. For the price, I would rather try another hotel that offers better value and quality.

Staying at Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort was truly an amazing experience for my family. The peaceful atmosphere, especially during the weekdays, made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a memorable family getaway in Penang. The resort offers excellent facilities, warm hospitality, and a welcoming environment that makes guests feel at home. While there are a couple of areas that could be improved, our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. I have already shared my detailed feedback with the resort through email regarding our 3-day, 2-night stay, and I sincerely hope to visit again in the future. Thank you once again to everyone at Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort for making our family holiday so special. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

There are two shangr-la hotel connected to each other. Golden sands and rasa sayang. They cater for different crowds. Rasa saying is a 5 star hotel more catered for couples and has more privacy and definitely high end in comparison to golden sands which caters for family with kids. Golden sands is a four star hotel. We stayed in golden sands known the differences as we had 2 yound children. We stayed in two different rooms. Interconnecting rooms which were nice and decent but is a lower bar in comparison to other shangrlia hotels we stayed in else where. Then we got the kids/family room the kids loved every bit of it!! They had lots of fun and definitely was the highlight of the trip for them. The service was alright and its understandable as hotel was fully booked. The breakfast has lots of varieties (will rate it as 3.5/4 out 5) aldue to repetition and taste. The kods loved the swimming pool, slides and beach. If you are looking for a place were your kids would love staying and have great memories then definitely would be worth it. However, if your a couple and looking for a romantic getaway then I would recommend rasa sayang

We just went to Shangrila Golden Sands this week with the whole family (3 adults + 2 kids). The pool with slides was so much fun. Adventure Zone was so much fun and it wasn’t busy during weekdays. The beach / water area was empty. We were the only people renting the jet ski the one hour we were there. We had booked two suites and they were at the two ends of the hallway. It was very spacious. The staffs working there are very friendly and Elsie Francis was our favorite. She helped us arrange tennis lessons and explained different water activities with such care and patience. She was so warm and I really liked her. I would recommend booking the suites for your family. We also saw the most beautiful sunset from our balcony our first night. Our family will definitely go back again!
