The atmosphere is incredible — it truly feels like being in Africa or Hawaii. The decoration and lush vegetation are stunning, with beautiful gardens, heated pools, birds and even turtles that make the whole experience unique. What made our stay exceptional was the staff. I arrived without a reservation and David warmly welcomed us and reassured us we would have a quiet room, as I was travelling with an autistic adult who is sensitive to noise. Lorena, the head of reception, was equally professional and kind. Thanks to them, we felt completely at ease. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay. A fantastic hotel for families or couples, with delicious food and a wonderful team. Highly recommended!

A really well designed and African themed hotel. A lot of thought has gone into this massive Lopesan hotel with large pools, mildly heated and a lazy river too. The rooms and walkways were a bit tired, can do with an update. There were occasional wall paper off the wall. The staff and service was good, also used the Lopesan app to request few room items. I found it odd that the pool towels were only given out between 10am-12 pm from the pool huts, however they were available from the reception. The food and the spread during the breakfast was good, the staff and chef were friendly and accommodating. The entertainment every night was good and as of a varied theme. What I loved the most was how when you walked through the entrance, the greenery and the waterfall transported you to the another world and felt relaxed and happy straight away. The hotel is close to promenade, restaurants, Maspalomas beach, famous dunes and a bus station for buses to Puerto de Mogan and Puerto Rico. Overall we had a good stay and holiday with family was good.

When Standards Do Not Match the Category As a hotel industry professional and a Unique guest, my recent experience at this property compels me to share a reflection from a service standards perspective. During my stay, I faced an urgent personal situation and approached the front desk seeking guidance or minimal support. I needed to travel promptly to assist my husband, who was unwell at a considerable distance from the hotel. The response I received was that no assistance could be provided beyond directing me elsewhere. I fully understand that operational limitations may exist. However, in properties of this category, competitive differentiation is not defined solely by facilities or aesthetics, but by proactive attitude, empathy, and genuine service culture. No room details were requested, no basic follow-up was offered, and there was no sign of concern regarding the situation. From a professional standpoint, this reflects a clear gap between the expected five-star service standards and the actual guest experience delivered. After formally addressing the matter via email, I have also received no response. True luxury is not only infrastructure — it is care, sensitivity, and commitment to the guest. When this element is missing, the category itself loses meaning. Excellence is not claimed — it is consistently demonstrated.

highly recommended, stunning decorated, with incredible attention to details, attentive staff from reception to room service, excellent food and lots of places to sit by the pools or swim in the canal around the facilities, very relaxing. Great entertainment in the evenings. Large beautiful rooms, comfy beds🥰 definitely worth to stay again. We had 2 rooms booked with excellent price/quality rapport. Wasn’t overcrowded, just perfect to enjoy. Many families having a great time with young children. 🤍 Thank you!

Extremely disappointed with our holiday at the Lopesan’s Boabab which was far from the hotels description as a holiday for relaxation, escapism, outstanding service and a lux collection. There was no meet and greet or concierge service for luggage to the room and no arrival drinks were given. We did not get a fast check in and check out as there was no dedicated person at the unique counter and we had to wait every time we visited the desk as they were busy with the normal guest que or other unique customers. The main buffet which was recommended at checkin over the unique restaurant consisted of queuing which I’ve never had to do on a holiday before. We were not provided with Tea and coffee and no staff members knew what tea was. When we found the tea and coffee machine, we had to search for the tea bags and milk. The bags in a draw and milk from the cereal bar then poured into a glass. No glasses were available at the juice bar and items of cutlery were missing to obtain food so poor hygiene was being used by all. The toaster did not toast and fell behind the bottom tray onto the counter top. This was raised to staff but not fixed. After 3 days of frustrations at the wild goose chase buffet we went to the unique restaurant which had a better service but more limited options so still not great for unique customers. The venue was loud all day with entertainment which catered for small children which was at a high volume and not what the hotel is described as. We could hear children crying and screaming all day and children’s songs playing loudly across the resort each day. Our unique room was next to a family with 3 very small children with crying through the night and up early crying in the morning. Our pass for the lift to the unique lounge did not work and was reset twice (after lengthy waits at the unique counter) and still did not work. We had to get off at the 4th floor and walk up to the 6th to enter through a back door. The selection was very poor and did not cater for vegans neither. Our room was not cleaned until late afternoon and there was no clean me or don’t disturb signs to ensure that it was cleaned when we were out. Without the signs we were disturbed frequently with the staff just walking in as they wanted. The pools were very cold with a high concentration of chemical causing immediate wrinkling of the skin. We were chased out of the restaurant for payment which was quite embarrassing. At other hotels we give our room number (as we did) and then we pay the total at the end of the holiday. At checkin we were advised that we could only attend the spa across the road once and that our 15year old would be fine to attend the spa as we wouldn’t be there for the day that 12 years plus can attend. The spa then refused for him to attend due to his age even though the resort agreed. Unfortunately we left the holiday in need of an holiday. The hotel should be advertised as a novelty for children not luxury and relaxation and certainly not 5 stars with an outstanding service.
