Honest Guest Review – Villa del Conde Resort & Thalasso The property is visually stunning, beautifully maintained, and offers an excellent breakfast selection. However, several important service and operational issues prevent the hotel from reaching the level expected of a premium resort. ### What needs improvement: - The balcony lighting is extremely bright at night, making it difficult to sleep even with curtains closed. - None of the installed disinfection dispensers worked during my stay. - Very poor signage for smoking areas, despite the website stating the entire resort is strictly non‑smoking. - No clear information on where guests can get small snacks during the day. - No active drink service at the pool; staff rarely walk around, and most do not speak or understand English. - I had to fetch my own Cuba Libre twice at the pub and return the plastic cup myself — and still had to pay for it. - The room was not labeled as having a closed balcony with no option to open the windows. - The room phone crackled heavily, making communication with reception almost impossible. - Noise from an evening event at 21:20 made sleep and even watching TV impossible. - Only very few staff members speak English, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. ### Positive points: - The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. - Breakfast offers a large and high‑quality selection. The hotel has a great concept and strong potential, but several service standards urgently need improvement to match the expectations of international guests.

We have now been spending our vacation in this wonderful hotel complex for 10 days and are absolutely thrilled. The peace and relaxation we found here are extraordinary. Since there are several pools in the hotel, a little more animation or a pool with subtle background music in one area would be desirable—that would be the perfect choice, as the remaining relax zones continue to offer absolute peace. We would particularly like to highlight the restaurant and the outstanding service. Above all, we immediately took Jostin (trainee) to our hearts. His warmth and passion for his profession are contagious, and we will miss him very much! His supervisor by the pool also offers exceptional service in the restaurant: after just a few days, he immediately remembered our number and even proactively put a lemon in our glass of water—such a great touch! We would also like to praise the animator Ashraf, who completely thrilled us with offers like water dance and water sports. Furthermore, when we had a personal request, we were helped promptly and unbureaucratically after contacting the manager. A thoroughly successful stay—we can warmly recommend this hotel complex to anyone looking for relaxation in a wonderful atmosphere.

First time to stay here and it was peak mid August. The hotel is well laid out and doesn't feel crowded due to the well designed grounds and variety of pools. Amazing breakfasts and lunch options. The evening buffet was extensive albeit might be too much if you go every night. There are many restaurants in a 10-20 minute walk distance. Staff were very friendly an especially made an effort wit the young children in our party. Entertainment was decent standard and didn't go on too late. Will definitely be returning

This hotel is great. Perfect for a sunny break for couples and families. The grounds are superb with lovely gardens. The pools especially are fantastic. There are several of them. Our weather was so good we didn’t try the Spa but that also looks fantastic. There are lots of sunbeds, but prime positions can go early. The Staff are all excellent, from the front desk to the pool bar, everyone was polite, helpful and friendly they made our stay very enjoyable and are a credit to the management. The rooms are good, ours was facing the sea on the ground floor, it was very convenient, it had afternoon sun and was quite spacious. It had tea making facilities the fridge was a bit strange, quite small, about 6” deep and noisy (we turned ours off). The hotel is big, with several blocks of rooms so you need to decide what you’re willing to pay for. The walk-in shower and bathroom were excellent. There was also a walk in wardrobe with a safe and full length mirror. The only negative was there are only a couple of available electric sockets, none of which are by the bed. Also there is no actual dressing table with a mirror even though there is plenty of room. So my wife had to use the bathroom for her hair which is not ideal. Also there are no bedside drawers, just a shelf like unit each side of the bed. These are minor gripes, they didn’t spoil the room but could be easily improved on the next round of redecorating. We’ve stayed here before but never at this time of year. The late sunsets and warm evenings made the hotel a much better experience. When we’ve stayed over winter there are not many places you can sit in relative warmth and the evenings on Gran Canaria are always quite cool and often the wind chill can make them seem cooler so you need a sweater or thin jacket. The bar this time was great they had big TV screens to show the World Cup and the staff were excellent. But we’ve used the bar in the winter and it is cold and not so relaxing. That is one area I think the hotel could improve so that winter holidays are more enjoyable. Overall this is a great 5 star hotel. It is in a great location and offers a fantastic reasonably priced holiday. I think it the best of the Lopesan in Meloneras.

There are many great hotels in the island (Villa del Conde one of them) but what differentiates one to other is the personal attention dedicated by the staff. Massive thanks to Gregorio and his line manager Pablo for being so accommodating in a special weekend at the hotel. It was my third time there and will definitely come again
