Our 5-day stay at Royalton CHIC Antigua was unfortunately one of the most disappointing resort experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was chaotic and poorly managed. There was little communication, long wait times, and no sense of urgency from staff to resolve issues. After traveling, this was not the welcome we expected from a resort marketed as premium and adults-only luxury. The issues continued throughout our stay. We experienced multiple power outages — some lasting over an hour — which disrupted dinners, evening routines, and even sleep. There was minimal communication during these outages. No proactive updates. No reassurance. Guests were left in the dark — literally and figuratively. Room service was equally frustrating. Calls often went unanswered. When orders were taken, they were significantly delayed or incorrect. On more than one occasion, we had to follow up multiple times with no clear resolution. For a resort of this price point, basic service standards were not met. The overall attitude of many staff members felt dismissive and unprofessional. While we encountered a few polite individuals, consistency in hospitality was lacking. There seemed to be little accountability or urgency in addressing guest concerns. What makes this especially disappointing is that the property itself has potential. The aesthetics are beautiful. However, the operational failures, poor communication, repeated power disruptions, and lack of customer service made this stay far below expectations. Given the premium pricing, we expected a seamless luxury experience — not constant inconveniences and service breakdowns. Management seriously needs to address these operational and customer service issues. Until then, I would not recommend this resort.

This place needs to fire every manager and start over again. The reviews are true, but i figured blown out of proportion. Never in my wildest dreams did i imagine it would be as bad as it was. Swim up bar was constantly "out" of basic booze. Every day something would be out. The bartenders were great. Shout out to Marlon, Glen, Jason... can only pour what you get stocked. Not on them at all. Even after making reservations at some restaurants we were told they were "out" of certain menu items... The absolute worst experience was room service. Ordered it 3x... pre ordered through app... order approved... not once was my food delivered. After the 3rd time i had it and went down to front desk and even after doing so... food supposed to be delivered at 10 ended up coming at 130. The cleaning staff was fantastic, rooms were spotless. I would not reccomend this resort to anyone. Pretty easy going, but when you constantly get told we are out... food and booze... its very annoying by day 3

I stayed at Royalton CHIC Antigua with a group of friends, and we had a great time! The highlight of our trip was our butler, Coniah. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He truly made our experience even better. The resort has multiple pools and easy beach access, which we loved. The food was okay, but I definitely recommend making reservations for the restaurants in advance. Overall, it was a fun vacation, and Coniah’s exceptional service made it memorable!

This resort has a beautiful property and many genuinely friendly, hardworking employees. Unfortunately, the lack of management oversight is glaring. The same complaints appear repeatedly: horrendous food, restaurants constantly running out of food, inconsistent service, and an experience nowhere near the luxury level being advertised. At an all-inclusive resort, routinely running out of food is simply unacceptable. I work in the hotel industry, and when the same operational failures appear in review after review, that falls on the General Manager and senior leadership. Even more frustrating are the seemingly pre-populated, generic responses to negative reviews—apologies, “we’ve shared this with our leadership team,” and promises to improve—yet guests continue reporting the exact same problems. At some point, stop responding to the reviews and start fixing what they’re saying. We stayed Diamond Club, and Andre, our butler, was absolutely amazing in every sense. Employees like him show the potential this resort has. With proper training, accountability, and management oversight, this genuinely could be a 5-star resort. Operationally, however, especially regarding food, it is a disaster. My recommendation: 3 days at most if you decide to come here. Marriott corporate and the hotel ownership group need to take a serious look at this franchise and its management. A beautiful setting and great frontline employees cannot compensate for repeated operational failures. Right now, this is a 3-star hotel in a 5-star setting. The problem starts at the top.
