We arrived very late after our wedding for our honeymoon. Exhausted and ready to get upstairs, Carlos helped make the check-in smooth and fast. The location was perfect. Right in the thick of all the fun. Amazing restaurants within walking distance, and a private beach. Will definitely be staying here again.

For the price of $850, the room was very disappointing. The “king-size” bed felt more like a queen, and the TV mounted on the wall was extremely small for the room. The balcony chairs were rusted, dirty, and clearly not well maintained. I was also charged $75 for early check-in, yet the following day I overheard another guest being charged only $50 for the same service, which felt inconsistent and unfair. Housekeeping was minimal. They provided fresh sheets and towels, but they did not remove any trash from the room during our stay. For the amount paid, I expected a much higher level of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall service. The pool bar was also disappointing. The bartender could only make a very limited selection of drinks, with margaritas being one of the few available options. The drink prices were extremely high considering the limited menu and overall experience. Overall, this hotel did not provide the level of quality, service, or amenities I would expect for the price paid. The rooms were extremely COLD! Had to turn off the system for comfort. And the pool was dirty! I had stains on my baithing suit when I got out.

I’m giving The Gates South Beach a 2.5/5 because my experience was half good, half bad. Check-in was frustrating. I booked a king suite with a balcony, but was initially given the wrong room. When I addressed it, the front desk agent, Carlos, was dismissive and acted like it was my fault, telling me to take it up with the third-party site despite my confirmation clearly showing what I booked. The hotel itself has a nice, clean aesthetic and the room was spacious, but the bathroom was a major downside. The shower was extremely small and uncomfortable, and the layout felt poorly designed (pictures attached). We were also looking forward to the advertised fragrance making class, but it didn’t seem to actually be offered. On top of that, the bartender appeared intoxicated. He asked my name and what I was drinking multiple times, even forgetting that he had already made my drink and leaving it sitting there. He was kind enough to remake it, but the lack of professionalism was disappointing. Overall, there were enjoyable aspects which were the hotel’s aesthetic and cleanliness were appreciated. But between the room issues, poor customer service, bathroom design, missing amenities (took almost an hour for me to get washcloths that housekeeping forgot to supply), and unprofessional staff, the experience was underwhelming.

My stay at the The Gates Hotel South Beach was exceptional from start to finish. The staff consistently delivered high-quality service, creating a welcoming and seamless experience throughout my visit. A special recognition goes to Pari, who truly elevated the stay. She was super responsive, attentive, and proactive in addressing every request. Her professionalism and commitment to guest satisfaction made a noticeable difference and set a high standard for service excellence. Overall, a standout experience driven by a strong team and exceptional individual performance. Highly recommended.

The hotel is very nice, clean and smells really good. The people are also so nice and they always greet you. Scott was amazing. He is very nice and welcoming!! We will be back for sure with more people to have them enjoy that beautiful stay! Thanks again Scott for your warm welcoming.
