love everything about this hotel.room with breathtaking view, bed and pillows that makes me dont ever want to get up, nice and big swimming pool for both kids and adult. delicious breakfast and most importantly this resort makes me feel so calm and relax. i will surely come again for my 2nd visit soon. thank you for the great hospitality from your concierge to every staff of the hotel. i really appreciated the deco for my anniversary and also fruits and cake was such a nice memorable gesture during my stay. and the best part is that there is water and ice dispenser available on all floors. the view from the hotel elevator is so beautiful. waking up to the sound of waves and bird chirping is such a great feeling.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was so clean and the staff were all so friendly. The breakfast was incredible! I couldn't believe the choice we had! Our room was amazing and the bed was so big! It was made every day and we had plenty of bottled water supplied. There are so many lovely nooks and crannies to sit in. My favourite was by the pool with my red towel and buzzer ready to order drinks! My frappaccinos were delicious. I would recommend this beautiful hotel in a heartbeat!

The PERFECT family getaway! Exceeded all expectations. We stayed here in July 2026 with our family of four, and I can honestly say it was the best vacation we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice. The facilities are incredible for kids. The pool with the water slides was the highlight of our children’s day, and the kids' clubs gave us a chance to actually relax by the beautiful beach while knowing the little ones were having the time of their lives. I also loved the tree hammock—such a unique touch! The room was pure comfort; the bed and pillows were so luxurious that I actually wished I could stay longer just to sleep in. And the breakfast buffet was amazing and delish. my husband loved the lamb curry with nasi lemak. A special shout-out to the staff, who were incredibly warm and attentive. I was originally torn between booking Shangri-La and Hard Rock. I’m so glad I chose Parkroyal. I felt Shangri-La might be a bit too quiet for our energetic family, and I received a notification that Hard Rock was under renovation. Booking Parkroyal was the best decision I made. It truly lives up to its 5-star rating. It’s not just a hotel; it lives by its name—it truly feels like a royal park. Highly recommended for families!

This is a beautiful hotel, friendly staff, rooms well presented and on the beach front. The food is more expensive than in the local bars, but is very good. The qué for a 09:30 breakfast is short and choice excellent. Bar prices can be "London" level, but happish hour brings a little relief. The local beach has a.wide choice of locally priced meal. (Some also service Alcohol)

Because we had stayed here previously, we chose PARKROYAL Penang Resort once again to celebrate our anniversary. The main reason for selecting this hotel is its peaceful and beautiful environment, as well as its beachfront location which offers a relaxing atmosphere and a greater sense of privacy. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the hotel for the thoughtful surprise anniversary cake that was delivered to our room. It was truly a wonderful gesture. The cake was very moist and absolutely delicious, making our celebration even more memorable. However, there are a few areas that may require attention from the hotel management. The sink in the bathroom was leaking, which caused the bathroom floor to become wet. In addition, the drainage in the shower room appeared to be clogged. We hope these issues can be addressed to further improve the overall guest experience.

Had a wonderful stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and located right by the beach. The rooms were comfortable, the facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly. What stood out most was the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was warm, professional, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Thank you to the team for helping make our anniversary getaway a memorable one. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Had a wonderful getaway with family and Shangri-la doesn’t disappoint. Rooms looked refreshed and there is a good view of the pool and beach. Well maintained grounds, one of the best in the country with good amenities like the Kids club. Enjoyed the dj live music by the beach at night. Chess game at the gardens was a welcoming change to the previous checkers. Special mention to Dulal the house keeping staff for a job well done. Room service food was excellent. Keep up the good service.

I recently stayed at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang, with my family and came away with mixed feelings. First, the positives. The resort grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, the rooms are comfortable, the beds are decent, the shower water temperature was consistently good, and the air-conditioning generally worked well. Batu Ferringhi offers a nice beachfront setting, although guests should be aware that traffic between the hotel, Gurney Drive and Georgetown can be extremely heavy during weekends and public holidays, so additional travel time should be expected. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the poolside massage service. Mr Zhackie was excellent, and his foot, shoulder and neck massage provided much-needed relief after a long day. I would also like to commend Mr Nabeel at the front desk, who was courteous, professional and helpful throughout our interactions. Unfortunately, several operational issues prevented this stay from meeting the standards I expected from a Shangri-La property. Despite completing mobile check-in, submitting passport details in advance and indicating our arrival time, one of our rooms was still not ready when we arrived close to 5pm. We only discovered it was available after personally returning to reception to enquire about it. The mobile app experience was also disappointing. We used the Shangri-La Circle platform to request bowls, chopsticks and cutlery for takeaway food. After multiple follow-up calls and waiting more than an hour, nothing arrived. I eventually went to the restaurant myself to obtain the items. Ironically, the requested items arrived more than an hour later and the quantity was still incorrect. Breakfast at Spice Market Café had an acceptable variety of food, but the crowd was overwhelming and we were seated outside the restaurant. The coffee from both the live station and machine was also not to my liking. The buggy service between Rasa Sayang and Golden Sands lacked any apparent queue management system. Guests simply gathered and boarded when a buggy arrived, and there did not appear to be any guest verification process. On one occasion, I was overlooked while waiting because there was no structured system in place. Another surprise was being informed at Golden Sands that there were no fresh pool towels available. For a resort under the Shangri-La brand, this was unexpected. There were also a number of smaller operational issues throughout the stay, including a leaking air-conditioning unit in one room on the first day, limited television channel selection, and a lack of proactive communication when issues arose. To be fair, staff were generally polite and willing to help when approached. The challenge was not staff attitude, but rather inconsistent execution, weak follow-through and operational processes that did not match the premium pricing of the resort. While we enjoyed the beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and excellent service from Mr Zhackie and Mr Nabeel, the overall experience fell short of the Shangri-La standard we were expecting. Based on this stay, we would likely explore alternative accommodation options on future visits to Penang unless significant improvements are made.

Went here on holiday with my husband and daughter. Had a great time! the room was superb as usual. That staff were very helpful, and friendly. Our favourite is definitely the breakfast buffet and the seating. When the pool was being cleaned, the staff recommended us to take a buggy to Golden Sands and we were happy to find out that there was a waterpark like pool there! We took a walk back through the serene walkway from Golden Sands back to Rasa Sayang. Love the herb garden too!

I had a pleasant stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang. The food was delicious, the room was clean and comfortable, and the ambience was peaceful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only small issue was the internet, which was a bit slow at times. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel.
