Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort I stayed here at the end of November, and it really is a wonderful hotel. After about a 2.5-hour drive with our 4x4, we arrived up in the mountains. The weather was fantastic — warm enough to swim during the day, and in the evening it cooled down nicely, so a sweater was perfect. The whole property is beautifully designed with a lot of attention to detail. The materials and interior feel very high-quality, and it‘s simply fun to wander around and discover all the different areas in and around the resort. The food options were great as well — varied, tasty, and with many possibilities: from lovely aperitif spots to international dishes and, of course, proper Omani food. The views over the mountains and the deep canyons are just incredible. Being surrounded by this kind of nature is an amazing feeling. And a big compliment to the whole team. Truly warm, professional and welcoming. Very well done, Team Anantara — bravo and keep it up!

Wonderful place to spend a few days in the middle of a stunning nature. The rooms are great and the team was very helpful. Inside the resort a great garden with a very big variety of plants is following us everywhere leading us to … yoga classes , spa , sauna (separated … ) … an exterior swimming pool with a terrific view ♥️🥰 !!! … and 3 restaurants (we tried only the Italian one … and we were not able to decide to change it for the other 2 options until the end of our stay … 😁😂 … maybe next time … Thank you so much Nelly (from the Italian Restaurant) for your help and taking care of us every time when we were there … 🙏🏻♥️) A big thank you also for Dorji from Bhutan 🇧🇹 in the breakfast area. Great people willing to help in the team !!! _______ … From the Resort it worth it to make the walk and visit the “old town” . I was so impressed to see how the people hare are cultivating the ground. The architecture and agriculture on terraces it was for me a great thing to see and discover. If you are lucky and take “the right way” :)) … you can see the town water reserve and have a different perspective of the place … Wonderful views to keep in our heart and brain …

I paid for a day pass to have access to the pool. Fantastic place, probably the best pool in the world. The views are incredible, the water Tº of the pool is at 30 Cº, very confortable for swimming in November. There are also 2 hot tubs. Panoramic views from the pool and the glass belvederes. Showers etc. The gardens of this hotel are nicer than a botanical garden. The architecture and facilities are WoW. Includes water bottle, sun chair, towels and fruit hors d'oeuvres. If you think the price looks steep, don't forget you can use the total amount you paid as a credit in the resort restaurant. It is an amazing experience you should not miss.

We visited the resort during the last week of September and had a very nice time. The location is 2 hour drive from muscat airport, and we travelled by airport shuttle at an extra fee from the resort as our flight arrived quite late at night. The car itself was comfortable and had snacks and water. The rooms were lovely, and the resort is a short walk from nearby heritage villages. If the weather is cooler, the walk is nice. Our stay coincided with the Olive harvest season which we quite enjoyed, including the informative talk given by Dr Ali Furqani and the trip to a nearby olive press. The breakfast buffet was nice and varied, and the beautiful majestic Mountain Views were breathtaking. A special thanks goes to our housekeep Mr Anis who made the extra effort to make sure our rooms were lovely during routine housekeeping services. Thanks to the friendly staff for a lovely time.

From arrival to departure: all staff and crew welcomes you with a smile and they will do anything to make your stay memorable. Absolutely loved my stay here. From housekeeping to front office, and from pool to restaurant staff: THANK YOU! It’s a calm hotel, luxurious and when you come by 4x4 car, the region has much to explore. The views are stunning, and the rooms impeccable and spacious.
