I would recommend anyone visiting the Al Hajar Mountains in Oman to spend a few nights at Anantara Al Jabal. Of course, it is a little more expensive to stay there, but it is a wonderful, relaxing experience that is really worthwhile and makes your stay in these beautiful surroundings even more restful. The atmosphere at the hotel is impressively relaxed, and this philosophy permeates the entire complex. The rooms are very nice, but perhaps don't choose the cheapest ones. Breakfast and dinner are of the highest standard. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The excursions are highly recommended. I am already looking forward to my next visit and hope that my trip can take place despite the current situation.

Mixed feelings about this place. Our room (the deluxe canyon view room) was lovely and the view amazing, but this was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our trip (USD900++ a night for the room + breakfast alone, before factoring in other expenses at the resort, which are kind of not optional given its isolation). We don't feel that the price matched the overall experience. In particular, future guests should be aware that the hotel is not private and is open to members of the public. This means that there are a lot of outside people including large family groups traipsing around the property - while nominally to attend the lookouts, staff did nothing to stop them wandering around the gardens and pool area (uncomfortable when you are lying there in your swimmers and there is a stream of strangers going back and forth) and lounging around on the lookouts for extended periods of time, with children running around screaming. We paid less for the Chedi in Muscat and it is much more private and restful as it is not open to external visitors. Judging by the other reviews here it seems that the Diana viewpoint *is* public property and so its not possible to limit access entirely. This is fine, but I think the access can be managed a lot more actively - and access to other areas of the property limited so as not to be made available to non guests (e.g. there is no need to enter the pool area to visit Diana's viewpoint). Management did nothing visible even when we raised it with still 36 hours of our stay left. After we had left, and followed up, we received an email saying that it had been discussed at check out, which was not true. Having said that, individual staff members were lovely - a particular shout out to Megin, one of the restaurant managers and Mohamed on the front desk who checked us in.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort I stayed here at the end of November, and it really is a wonderful hotel. After about a 2.5-hour drive with our 4x4, we arrived up in the mountains. The weather was fantastic — warm enough to swim during the day, and in the evening it cooled down nicely, so a sweater was perfect. The whole property is beautifully designed with a lot of attention to detail. The materials and interior feel very high-quality, and it‘s simply fun to wander around and discover all the different areas in and around the resort. The food options were great as well — varied, tasty, and with many possibilities: from lovely aperitif spots to international dishes and, of course, proper Omani food. The views over the mountains and the deep canyons are just incredible. Being surrounded by this kind of nature is an amazing feeling. And a big compliment to the whole team. Truly warm, professional and welcoming. Very well done, Team Anantara — bravo and keep it up!

💎Eden of middle east is located at Al Jabal Al Akhdar. It was heavenly spiritual. Let’s talk about the place we stayed , shall we? Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar defines perfectly the masterpiece of five star service. We must say that the hardest part of the trip is to say Good bye to wonderful hotel staffs. They created the friendliest and warmest at their best. We even had a Zootopia towel challenge haha. The spa is definitely top-notch and soul-cleansing. Everything the hotel arranged for us was beyond our expectation. Thank you Anantara for making our stay in Oman become the moment we treasured.🇴🇲🏔️🌅

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in Oman. One of the places we visited was the “Green Mountain” and we stayed at the Anantara Al Jabal Akhdar Resort for a few days, which was, in one word… magical. First, the resort and its surrounding is both beautiful, peaceful, and awe-inspiring. This is a place where you can emotionally and mentally get refreshed and rejuvenated while appreciating nature’s mightiness. Second, the staff were so warm, welcoming, and professional. From Inja at the front desk who reminded me of a classic movie star with impeccable manners, Shabuddin who made sure our room was always a haven for us to come back to after our day tours and displayed his great sense of humor (see towel doggy with my sunglasses on), to Maher who gave us an amazing, fun, final tour of Al Sugwra where we learned a lot about people’s day-to-day lives in Al Jabal Akhdar… The cherry on the top was how the staff at the front entrance, including Inja, formed a little line to wave us good-bye. Even though this might sound like nothing, I will remember that moment for the rest of my life… I have stayed a many 5-star hotels and resorts both personally and professionally, and I cannot highly recommend enough Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhadar. When you arrive, stay, and leave the resort, you feel like… Okay… I have made it in life.
