Highly recommend. Beautiful views! Hotel was clean and staff was so friendly and accommodating! Amenities of indoor and outdoor pools. Entertainment every night. Hotel spa. Restaurant was excellent! Our stay could not have been any better! Would definitely stay there again for our next visit.

It was okay the hotel is a 4 star. But is more like 2 or 3 the place is very clean the staff in the bar and rooms are brilliant and very attentive. Reception is okay they tried to sell you excursions and attractions. I suppose they may get some sort of commission. My only two things was. The beds in the rooms, the mattress are like concrete so hard it is uncomfortable. And breakfast was very very poor and not nice things to eat.. in the week we stayed there we only when ones... And I am not a fussy eater.. location of the hotel is around a mile from the port which is not to far the only problem going down it ok but coming up is one mile going up hill.. make sure you have the correct shoes otherwise it's even harder. Night time entertainment very poor and the bar closed at 11 pm. After that if you one a drink or food you must go outside the hotel.

Great place to stay. Bus stop outside allows easy access to the centre of Funchal if you prefer not to walk. Bus stop a short walk towards Reids to get to Monte, where the toboggans are. You can book trips from the hotel, bring Euros to pay for these. Friendly staff, great food.

This is our second visit to this wonderful hotel. The buffet breakfast is excellent there is a wide choice to suit all needs. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Bathrooms are a good size and easy to use. Towels are changed everyday and maid service is excellent. The staff try very hard to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

Unprofessional Conduct and Lack of Guest Accommodation at Breakfast Restaurant. I recently stayed at Enotel Magnolia in Funchal Madeira, for 4 nights (June 21-25, 2026) and was extremely disappointed by the conduct of two staff members (Suzanna and Christopher) in the breakfast restaurant. I explained clearly from my first day at the restaurant that due to my personal routine, I am unable to eat during the designated breakfast hours with ends at 10:30am. Each morning, I only drink tea or coffee at 10am and make a breakfast sandwich to take with me to eat later with my medication that have to be taken with food. This is a simple and reasonable request that many hotels accommodate without issue. However, the two waiters (particularly Suzanna) refused on the last day to allow me to take my sandwich outside unless I paid an additional fee. Their tone was dismissive and unprofessional, and they showed no willingness to understand or accommodate a guest's needs. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that no manager was available. Only after insisting did they bring the chef on duty (Barbo) to speak with me. By that point, the situation had escalated unnecessarily. Out of frustration with the staff's rigid attitude, I chose to dispose of the sandwich in the restaurant's trash bin rather than continue the argument. It was disheartening to throw away perfectly good food, especially knowing that many people around the world struggle with hunger. Later that day, I encountered the same chef (Barbo) in the hotel lobby. He approached me, sincerely apologized for the incident, and acknowledged that the staff requires further training in guest service and accommodation. I appreciated his professionalism, but the experience had already left a negative impression. For a hotel that presents itself as a 4‑star establishment, this level of service is unacceptable. Staff courtesy, flexibility, and respect for guests' reasonable requests must be improved.
