Really great all round hotel located right on the sea front less than 10 minutes drive from the centre of Funchal. All staff are extremely friendly, nice and welcoming .....do the upmost to.make your stay an enjoyable and memorable one. The swimming pool areas are not crowded, quiet, plenty of sunbeds and space. Pool bar is open from 10am to 6pm. Also an indoor swimming pool and massive jacuzzi. There is a gym with well looked after and maintained equipment, also a games room too. The breakfast was plentiful, un rushed and provided a large range of cooked breakfasts, made to order eggs and omelettes, waffles , pancakes, cereals, fruits, and a proper bean to cup coffee machine. Fridge was stocked with a few welcome complimentary drinks and a fruit bowl on the second day was delivered as well. Rooms are clean, large pillows, modern bathrooms. All hotel areas we very clean and tidy. There is a car park downstairs ( which can be pre booked ) for 13 euro per night. A Spar shop is located a 5 minute walk away and the Forum Madeira shopping mall is a short 19 min walk in the other direction. For those that are not half or full board, there are a number of very good restaurants all within 10 mins walk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pestana Promenade Hotel. The hotel has the most gorgeous sea views, and the pool area is surrounded by beautiful plants, creating a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The town centre is approximately a 40-minute walk away, and strolls along the promenade were particularly enjoyable. All of the staff were incredibly kind and friendly, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Delilah was especially supportive and gave us some excellent recommendations for activities in the area. The buffet breakfast offered a fresh and varied selection, with the option of being able to eat outside while enjoying the stunning sea views. The only minor downside to our room was occasional noise from furniture being moved in the room above, although we appreciate this is not always avoidable. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and very much look forward to returning again soon.

Stayed for eleven nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Staff in reception are lovely and sorted everything out efficiently. Had a meal in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool gardens are lovely and quiet and beautifully landscaped. There is a very nice heated indoor pool as well. The location is quite well placed. If you are a good walker, then it's possible to walk into central Funchal. If not, then numerous buses pass by and stop by the hotel.

Pros: 1. Great location with easy access to Funchal, the airport and with glorious sea views. 2. Great breakfast with multiple options to suit all travellers including gluten free. 3. Indoor and outdoor pools are both very clean. 4. Reception staff very helpful and will go above and beyond to help. 5. Very comfortable pillows. 6. Hotel is impeccably clean. Cons: 1. Rooms ourdated: lots are lapsed timeshares that havent been updated. 2. Showers are often cold or tepid. 3. Happy hour prices for drinks aren't clear. Avoid.

Nothing shy of a wonderful experience. The resort itself it’s absolutely stunning with the sea view. The buffet for breakfast had an amazing variety and I looked forward to the different style of buffet for dinner each night. Each person we met who worked at the resort were so welcoming which truly makes the experience of the holiday one to remember. We will be back again 🤍
