We booked more than 20 rooms for our group, yet not a single person had a satisfactory stay. The rooms we received did not match what was originally booked, and considering the amount we paid, the experience was not worth even half the price. The service was consistently slow, even for the simplest requests. For example, requesting an empty cup for tea took an unreasonable amount of time. Cleanliness was also a major concern. Towels, bed linens, and even some bathrooms had an unpleasant odor resembling algae or dampness, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Most concerning was the hotel's response during a medical emergency involving one of our family members. The emergency response was virtually non-existent, and the hotel lacked basic necessities required to handle urgent situations. The ambulance arrived before any meaningful assistance was provided by the hotel staff. In addition, the overall attitude and professionalism of the staff fell far below expectations. Basic hospitality standards, including acknowledging mistakes and offering sincere apologies for poor service, seemed absent. Many employees would greatly benefit from proper hospitality and customer service training. We chose Fairmont expecting a luxury experience, but unfortunately, the reality was the complete opposite.

Ruaa's Routine

Unfortunately, my stay at Fairmont Doha was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard I expected from a five-star hotel at this price point. The hotel itself is visually impressive, but luxury should be about more than a beautiful building. The actual service, cleanliness, and attention to guests were far below expectations. Throughout my stay, I was left with the strong impression that some guests received noticeably more attention and better treatment than others, particularly those perceived as wealthy or high-profile. As a paying guest, I did not feel equally valued or cared for, which was one of the most disappointing parts of the experience. The valet service was extremely slow. Getting the car took far too long, and this happened often enough to become genuinely frustrating. Room service was also very slow, and the housekeeping standard was poor for a hotel claiming to be five-star. The room and amenities did not feel properly cleaned or maintained. The refrigerator was not working, and the coffee machine clearly needed both maintenance and proper cleaning. These are not small details when guests are paying premium prices. Basic room equipment should be checked before a guest is given the room, and cleanliness should never be questionable in a hotel of this category. What makes the experience even more disappointing is that I have stayed in lower-rated and much less expensive hotels that provided significantly better service, cleaner rooms, and a more welcoming experience. For me, Fairmont Doha was simply not worth the price and did not deliver a genuine five-star experience. Beautiful property, but very poor execution where it matters most: service, cleanliness, maintenance, and making every guest feel valued.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Fairmont Hotel Doha, and overall it was a truly lovely experience. I stayed for one night in room 1812, and I have to say the room was absolutely beautiful very spacious, elegant, and comfortable. It really made my stay feel special and relaxing. The check-in process was a bit delayed due to the large number of guests at the time, but honestly, the team handled it very well. Despite the crowd, they stayed professional, calm, and attentive, which I really appreciated. I was celebrating my birthday during this stay, and the hotel made it even more memorable. Their thoughtful gestures truly made me happy and added a personal touch to the experience. I would especially like to express my respect and gratitude to the guest relations team and the front office. They genuinely care about guests and it shows in the way they treat people. A special thank you to Shuzi and her colleagues they were all so kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay.

Nice experience for my birthday. Typical spa experience. Worth the money based on views and so forth. Although, I should have stayed longer and enjoyed the facilities based on the cost. It’s certainly on the pricey side. But, it’s something I wanted to do so I’m very glad. My masseuse was exceptional and she did a great job. I think they could do more for special occasions as I went on my birthday but didn’t ‘feel’ extra special or like it was a different day. Pretty basic, what you pay is what you get. Overall, Fairmont is a staple so happy for the experience but do be mindful of cost before attending.
