This is 1000000% the best resort i’ve ever been to, no doubt. Everything is just incredible. The rooms are spot-on. Useful stuff inside like sunscreen, sun shampoo, etc. the view is breathtaking and the beds are comfy. The service is the ABSOLUTE best. Every single staff is heart-warming and welcoming. They always greet you with a smile on their face. Mr and Ms Friday are the best. Best service I’ve ever experienced in my life. When the vacation ended, I already missed them and the resort. The whole experience was just really, really, fun especially with family. the Indian food is really really good. One of the best meals ever. Probably one of the best, most unforgettable vacations I’ve ever had in my life because of the mind-blowing experience. If I would come back to Maldives, I would definitely stay here again.

This was an amazing end to an excellent Maldives trip. Gili wasn't initially on our radar but was a pro suggestion by our travel agent when booking this trip. It is a very quick boat transfer from MLE airport, which makes it a stellar stop at the start or end of a long trip OR as the main feature of a quick 4 day trip. The food was so so tasty at breakfast as well as the two themed nights that happened while we were there. There was an indian night our first night which we loved with all sorts of cool and delicious live stations. We also had dinner at the sushi restaurant which was really really good. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the spa since it was only a 2n stay but the gym was very well appointed and spacious. The rooms at Gili are gigantic and that wooden robinson crusoe vibe. It was a little still windwise when we were there and half of the house (bathroom/deck/living room) is open air without a/c, but a quick jump off the front deck into the ocean kept us refreshed and very comfortable. Other guests that were diving were having a great time. We went for a snorkel on the house reef and had a fun time (rays and turtles in the grasslands out to the health house reef). I surf and the tropic surf offerings (board selection, coaching, ability to get to waves) was so good. Because it is close to MLE it definitely is more crowded in the water which is definitely a factor, but we had scored other places on the trip and it is just a pleasure to be out in a tropical location, period.

I genuinely don’t have the words to describe the level of service at Gili Lankanfushi — it’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The entire resort operates as if they’re always one step ahead of you. Every team member, from the cleaners to the waitstaff to management, communicates so seamlessly that your preferences are remembered instantly and your needs are anticipated before you even voice them. A special thank you to our Mr. Friday, Tesla, who made our honeymoon truly unforgettable. He went above and beyond every single day — from surprising us with a beautifully decorated tub to creating the most thoughtful honeymoon setup in our villa. His warmth, intuition, and responsiveness elevated our stay beyond anything we imagined. We also had an incredible destination dinner on the beach, which I highly recommend. Aslam, our waiter, made the evening feel magical with his attentiveness and kindness. And a special mention to Chef Mainuddin, whose fresh fruit plates each morning became something we genuinely looked forward to. Gili Lankanfushi is more than a resort — it’s a level of care and hospitality that feels almost unreal. We’re already dreaming of coming back.

Our second stay at Gili Lankanfushi confirmed what we already suspected after our first visit: this is truly one of those rare places that has a soul. Located just 20 minutes by speedboat from Malé, the resort is incredibly convenient to reach, something especially valuable for shorter stays, allowing you to maximize your time in paradise from the very first moment. Gili sits on what is, without question, one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Maldives. The water is impossibly clear, with endless shades of turquoise that feel almost unreal. The setting alone would make it special, but what truly sets Gili apart is the atmosphere it creates. The resort features only overwater villas and they are enormous private, serene and perfectly designed to blend into the natural surroundings. It embodies the true meaning of barefoot, laid-back luxury: effortless, authentic and never pretentious. Service is simply outstanding. Warm, intuitive and deeply personal, the team has an incredible ability to make every guest feel genuinely cared for without ever being intrusive. The food is another highlight. From relaxed beachside dining to more refined culinary experiences, everything is executed with great quality and attention to detail. Having stayed at many of the world’s finest hotels, Gili Lankanfushi remains one of those truly special places that stays with you long after you leave. It has character, heart and authenticity and unquestionably deserves a place in any list of the world’s best resorts. This was our second visit, and it certainly will not be our last.

What makes a trip to the Maldives better? The view? the Amenities? The size of the Room? The kindness of people working on the island? Having travelled a lot in the Maldives and in the most luxurious places (Waldorf Astoria, Joali, Kani etc...) I can now tell you that when a sense of service and kindness is as high as on Gili resort, you spend an unforgettable trip. From the day you arrive to the day you leave, the whole island makes you feel home. From the double espresso you take at 11am to the gluten free diet you follow, once you mention it to one person, the whole island will remember it and make sure you always have what you need. The room is spectacular (biggest room we ever had in the Maldives), less restaurant as in Warldorf or Joali but every night a new theme for the dinner make it like you always eat a different kind of food. And what to say about our Butler, Shaany, a wonderful person, she a big part of why we loved Gili. Telling us about Maldivian culture, and always making sure everything was perfect at any time. To be honest I felt that in other resort you are just a customer that they try to milk the most possible with extras, and you can end up with a final bill of 20K, but here it's never the case. Plenty of free activities, cocktail parties, I mean you pay 2 or 3 times less then other big 5 stars name but you leave with much more memories. I will be back for sure!
