THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO FOR EUROPEANS OR INDEED PEOPLE WHO ARE COELIAC/GLUTEN FREE ! Oh dear, my husband lost 3lb in the week due to food poisoning from cooked prawns ( he was in bed for 3 days) and I lost the same due to very little gluten free food being available. The management offered my husband a 15% discount on his seafood meal alone which equated to £8.25. ( We had bought a Seafood Special evening as we did not like hot curries or Oriental food for every meal, which was what was on offer normally ) They also charged us for the Dr to come when my husband got food poisoning in their restaurant ! We had to complain several times over 24 hours to gain the attention of someone in management who could reduce our extras bill. Only 15 minutes before we left the island did they agreed to canx the medical bills and the price of the 2 seafood meals. We are adventurous eaters but the food was so spicy and or/hot that we often just left our food. Where was the fresh fish and lovely fresh salads? Even on the Bar B Q evening the kebabs were covered in Oriental style sauce! We asked to hire a boat - they said a speed boat was $740/hour ! (Roughly £635.) My husband replied he wanted to hire it not buy it! I complained by letter about all of the above but I received no apology - just a letter saying they could not confirm the cause of my husbands illness etc etc.etc. On the boat trip back to the airport there were 2 other English people. They also said they had not enjoyed the food. Our room however was lovely, the island itself has gorgeous views and some of the staff members were very good - Donna in the Asian Kitchen and Bdi/Vdi in the Coffee Club need a mention. The Holiday Inn Resort at Kandooma is no place to go for people from the UK. Please look elsewhere for a lovely holiday where the food matches the beautiful surroundings.

All was great! Beds weren't comfy and were really hard, that would be my only complaint. Some of the staff were exceptional. Kommu really stood out for us. He was attentive, gave excellent service and provided the best made drinks! Chinnu and Azee at the kids club! What amazing women who were kind, friendly, thoughtful and so caring. Dwi was a sensational waitress, so caring. Ali and Jaishh on our private tour were amazing! We saw dolphins which was a real unexpected treat and they were so kind. Thankyou so much! We will be back!

Wonderful stay with exceptional service We had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives. The resort is beautiful, well maintained, and offers a perfect blend of relaxation and fun. The beaches are stunning, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is very peaceful. I would especially like to appreciate Bala for his outstanding service. He was extremely helpful, friendly, and always made sure we were comfortable. His positive attitude and willingness to help truly made our stay more memorable. Thank you to the entire team for such a great experience. I would definitely recommend this resort and would love to visit again!

I had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Resort Maldives. The overall experience was truly enjoyable—from the beautiful room to the excellent service throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Bala, who made our experience even more memorable. His hospitality, attentiveness, and warm attitude really stood out. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and it made a big difference. Everything about the resort from the ambiance to the service was just perfect. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable Maldives getaway.

Our third visit. A fantastically situated resort, just a 45 minute boat transfer away from Malé airport. Rooms are great, restaurants provide lovely food and the service is superb. The staff are incredibly courteous and helpful. We had both a beach cottage and a beach villa, both great rooms (although the cottage bed was a tad firm!) We continue to visit as it’s a short journey from the UAE and, most importantly for us, the Dive Center offer of stay 3 nights or more and enjoy 2 complimentary dives per day. The dive centre staff are amazing. Professional, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. The dive sites are varied, easily reached and provide an amazing look into the bountiful wildlife on the reef. Shaan has a great team in Luca, Sam, Moose, Eddie and the boat pilots. A big thanks to Mahlee, Selena and the front desk team for looking after us so well and to Renuka for taking care of us at the beach bar so perfectly. Look forward to another visit soon.
