We spent eight unforgettable nights at Finolhu Maldives and truly did not want to leave. Rarely has a holiday felt so completely perfect in every way. The sun, the sea, and the gentle ocean breeze are a given, but it is the incredible team at the resort who made our stay absolutely exceptional. Their warmth, genuine friendliness, personalised service, attention to detail, and outstanding skills were evident everywhere. A very special mention must go to the chefs, whose cuisine was consistently of the highest standard and truly world-class. We will most definitely return and cannot recommend this resort highly enough. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team for an unforgettable experience!

An absolutely outstanding stay at Finolhu Maldives from start to finish. Everything was truly exceptional and exceeded expectations in every way. As with all resorts in the Maldives, it is expensive — but in this case, the money is genuinely well spent. The island is stunning, beautifully designed, and perfectly maintained, striking a perfect balance between luxury and relaxed island vibes. The villas are spacious, stylish, and immaculately clean, with incredible attention to detail. The service deserves special mention: warm, attentive, and genuinely caring without ever feeling intrusive. The food was excellent across all restaurants, with great variety and consistently high quality. The only minor drawbacks are that the nearby coral reef is not as impressive as at some other Maldivian resorts, and the activities are on the expensive side. That said, these points do little to detract from an otherwise exceptional experience. Overall, Finolhu delivers a memorable and high-end Maldivian escape, and it’s easy to see why so many guests return.

Finolhu was the perfect destination for our wedding anniversary. It balances luxury and refinement with relaxation, not being too fussy and allowing you to indulge in whatever mood takes you. The island is pristine - the clearest water and beautiful facilities all extremely well maintained. The variety and quality of food is sensational and we particularly liked the Crab Shack and the Japanese restaurant. A few surprises were the butler service, ready always to pick us up from our room and take us anywhere on the island. We also didnt realise how accessible the snorkelling would be - straight out from the over-water villas and the current gently drifts you back along the drop-off, to the island. Over seven nights we had plenty to do including day trips to see the Manta Rays, jet skiing with dolphins and exploring the island facilities. We went for the premium all-inclusive package and were always so full that we barely touched the mini-bar (which is also included). Finally, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. They go the extra mile to ensure you are well looked after and take a huge amount of pride in their work. Look forward to our next trip and although it was an indulgence, the memories are priceless.

Absolutely unforgettable – pure paradise Finolhu Maldives is quite simply one of the most incredible places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment you arrive, everything feels effortless, joyful and genuinely special. The island itself is breathtaking — powder-soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water and beautifully designed villas that feel both luxurious and relaxed. Every detail has been thought through, from the privacy and comfort of the villas to the playful, stylish touches across the island that make Finolhu feel unique rather than formal. We stayed over Christmas, and the festive atmosphere was truly magical. The Christmas lights switch-on was such a special moment — beautifully done and full of warmth, excitement and sparkle. It really made the whole stay feel extra memorable. The service deserves special mention. The staff are exceptional: warm, intuitive and always going above and beyond without ever feeling intrusive. A huge thank you to Ahmed, our butler, who was simply wonderful — attentive, kind and made our stay feel completely seamless from start to finish. Finolhu was also brilliant with our son, Beau. The kids club is fantastic, and even though he wasn’t quite old enough to stay on his own yet, the team went out of their way to make him feel included and welcome, which meant so much to us as a family. Food and drink were outstanding throughout our stay, with great variety and consistently high quality. One absolute highlight was taking the boat trip over to the Crab Shack on the island — we went a few times, and they ended up being our best nights. The atmosphere, food, setting and sunset vibes were unbeatable and something we’ll always remember. Even on days when the weather didn’t fully cooperate and we had some rain, the resort truly shone. Finolhu put on complimentary activities to keep guests entertained, which made such a difference and turned what could have been disappointing days into really fun ones. One small tip for future guests would be to keep an eye on wine selections, as some bottles are not included — we were caught out with a $300 charge for a bottle we had assumed was part of the all-inclusive package. Aside from that, dining was a real highlight. What really sets Finolhu apart is the balance it strikes — luxurious without being stuffy, lively without being overwhelming, and family-friendly while still feeling special and indulgent. Whether you’re travelling as a couple or with children, it works beautifully. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. We came away relaxed, happy and already dreaming of returning. Finolhu isn’t just a holiday — it’s an experience we’ll never forget. ✨ Truly paradise. Highly recommended. ✨

Words and pictures can’t convey how special this resort is. We spent a week here recently (December 2025) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We booked a lagoon overwater room with the standard all inclusive package. From arrival to departure it was like a dream. We were greeted at the seaplane arrival jetty by smiling, waving staff, seated at the pagoda to enjoy beautiful views of turquoise, crystal-clear water and white sand, given a refreshing drink while we caught our breath, and told we would be taken to our room as soon as we wished. We were never rushed, nor made to wait, for anything during our entire visit. We were upgraded to an overwater ocean view pool room. It was bliss. The furnishings were colourful but not jarring, and extremely comfortable; the facilities and space were generous; and presentation, cleaning and maintenance was discreet and thorough. The view was spectacular. Snorkeling on the house reef (accessible directly from each bungalow’s front deck) was terrific. Food on the standard package was outstanding, varied, delicious, and extremely generous. Drinks ditto. Every restaurant was brilliant, both for food and service. At the buffet at the Beach Club, behind every service counter, staff greeted you with a smile every day. At the buffet, food is thoughtfully set on quite high tables (out of reach of young children’s hands), other than the dedicated children’s food area. The real standout here is service. I have been fortunate to visit some rather special places in the world but I have never experienced service like this. It was like being warmly welcomed, after a long absence, to an old friend’s home, and then spoilt for the entire stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and even a small medical issue was dealt with swiftly, discreetly and with warmth and compassion. All staff greeted you every day as though they genuinely cared about you and wanted you to be happy, they remembered everything you had eaten and enjoyed, and your drinks orders. The dive team happily organised fabulous diving for my husband (who is highly experienced and was looking for something special) and for me (less experienced and wanted an easy, not challenging, dive). When I had to cancel my dive at the very last minute there was no judgement and no penalty, again I was shown nothing but compassion and understanding. As if all of this isn’t enough, you are also allocated a personal butler who will organise anything you wish, from restaurant bookings to diving trips, to medical consultations. Our roohu, Hanim, was wonderful. I could wax lyrical about Finolhu for pages but, suffice it to say, this resort, in every way, is perfection. From management to catering to the dive team to groundskeepers, the service and hospitality here is astonishingly warm, generous and thoughtful but never intrusive. We absolutely loved every minute of our holiday and, if life allows, we would love to return. Many thanks, Finolhu, for making such wonderful memories for us.
