Our stay in the Maldives was truly unforgettable. The room was beautiful, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The food was absolutely delicious with plenty of great options every day. What impressed us the most was the warm hospitality — all the staff were incredibly friendly and always smiling, which made us feel so welcomed throughout our stay. One of the best experiences was seeing sharks and colorful fish swimming right in front of our villa. It felt like living in a dream. We came here to truly relax, and this resort was the perfect place for that — peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. At the same time, there were plenty of water activities and equipment available to enjoy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable Maldives getaway!

I recently stayed at Thulhagari Resort in the Maldives, and while it had some great aspects, it fell short of my expectations for a 5-star resort. The food was truly exceptional - every meal was a delight, and I was impressed by the variety and quality. The staff, particularly the reception team, were friendly and welcoming, making our stay more enjoyable. However, there were some significant drawbacks. The beds were surprisingly hard and uncomfortable, and the air conditioning unit in our room seemed old. We were also disappointed to find that there were no Muslim showers available in the bathroom, which would have been a welcome amenity. Furthermore, the bathroom lacked basic amenities like toothbrushes, toothpaste. The location of our room, in the garden, was picturesque but had its downsides. The beachside area was poorly lit at night, making it difficult to navigate, and the path to the beach was dark and overgrown with trees. To make matters worse, we had a frustrating experience with the resort's transportation. We were made to wait at the airport for an hour, and then we had to leave the hotel early without breakfast to catch our speedboat. The transfer to the airport from Thulhagari was short (only 15 minutes), but the charges were steep. Overall, while Thulhagari has its strengths, it needs to work on some key areas to live up to its 5-star rating.

We stayed for one week in Thulhagiri in November. It was our very first time in the Maldives and we found it simply stunning! The island is very exclusive as small and you can cirle it within 7 minutes. We choose a beach bungalow and had the chance to basically have a private beach with privacy right in front of our bungalow. The first room they assigned was right in front of the pool and we wished to be more aside and informed the reception which immediately provided us with a different room and let us choose which one and also offered a free upgrade on a Premium Water Villa (which we did not accept) and it was very kind of them to make us happy. The barefoot concept makes the stay very relaxing and recharging as we wished to stay more and do not wear shoes any more! The food was very good, there is a large asiatic choice and there is something for everyone’s taste. So is breakfast, very varied and there is almost everything, including fresh omlette or any type of eggs live cooked. We chose the all inclusive formula and also enjoyed the cocktails which were very good. The kindness of the waiters from the beach bar was really execeptional. The waiters in the restaurant are a bit “cold” and often just kind with people they get tips from. You could really see the difference and this was a pity but it did not disturb us directly. It is very close to the Male airport so perfect for those who doesn’t want to choose a resort which is too far away. The coral reef around the island is not exceptional but there is a local turtle that if you are lucky you can spot and also sharkies that come very close to the beach. The reef is a bit damaged but this is people’s fault. People do not respect the reef and just walk onto it. The resort offers a few excursions such as a dolphin cruise, snorkeling a couple of times a week, night fishing, Malé tour, local village tour, diving options, water sports and maybe other options I surely forgot to mention. We chose snorkeling multiple times a week in a reef that is 20/30 mins away. There it was really good! We saw turtles, sharks and lots of fishes and stayed out for about 2 hours. It would be cool if they would organise different reef snorkeling within a week and not always in the same place, maybe as a suggestion :) We also had a massage at the spa which was really good (hot stone massage) with a stunning view. I would return in any case as it has been a dream holiday for us!

I stayed at Thulhagiri Island Resort for 2 nights and 3 days, spending one night in a Water Villa and one night in a Beach Villa. Overall, it was a very nice experience. To be honest, I personally found the Beach Villa more enjoyable because there is more space and more things to do around it. The villa itself is bigger and comes with a beautiful open-style washroom, which gives a true island feeling. The beach area in front of the villa is also great for relaxing, walking, and swimming. The Water Villa was a good experience for at least one night. The room size was medium but comfortable, and the view of the ocean is amazing. However, when you go down into the water, there is no lifeguard or direct safety supervision, so you enter the water at your own risk. While snorkeling around the villa, we saw stingrays, baby sharks, and many colorful fish, which was actually very exciting. Initially, we had an issue with the room location. Our Water Villa was the last one on the jetty, and the area had a lot of coral reef, which made it difficult to stand or move in the water. I raised this concern with the staff, and they were very helpful and supportive. They quickly assisted us and arranged a room change, which shows that the resort staff truly care about their guests and try their best to solve problems. One of the best activities in the resort is snorkeling. You can rent a snorkeling kit for around $7, and it is absolutely worth it. The house reef around the island is beautiful, and you can easily spend hours enjoying the clear water and marine life. Another highlight of the resort is the food. The buffet offers very delicious continental dishes, and the quality and taste were excellent. There is a good variety of meals, and everything is well prepared. The only thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant is very strict with timing. Once the buffet timing ends, they close it, so if you arrive late you might miss your meal. The island itself is very clean, peaceful, and well maintained, with clear turquoise water and soft white sand. It is a perfect place for relaxation, honeymoon trips, or couples who want a quiet getaway. The resort also offers activities like diving, snorkeling, island walks, and water sports if you want to stay active during your stay. Another big advantage is the location. The resort is very close to the airport, and it takes only around 20 minutes by speedboat, which makes the transfer very convenient compared to resorts that require seaplane transfers. Overall, I would definitely recommend Thulhagiri Island Resort if you are planning a trip to the Maldives. It offers beautiful scenery, good service, amazing marine life, and excellent food, making it a great place for a short island getaway.

I absolutely loved everything. The food was varied, a very good selection, and probably the most delicious food I've ever had in a hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We stayed in a white overwater villa. It was very cozy and spacious. Cleaning was done every day, and it was very clean. I'd say it was impeccable. The only thing I missed were hotel slippers. The reef is beautiful; we saw sharks four times and a stingray once. The sea and beaches are very beautiful. Transfer to the hotel from the airport costs $110 per person by speedboat roundtrip. We didn't know this, but keep in mind that half-board guests don't get free drinks, not even water. Drinks cost from 2/3 dollars and up. So, you'll have to pay for drinks separately, whether alcoholic or soft. Even water is not free.
