Our 3rd visit in 3 years, and would definitely return again. Extremely nice smaller resort. Great costumer service. We enjoy their food more than the larger resorts, it is more tasty/flavorful. After a few days the bartenders know our drink preferences, and are super friendly, as are the entire service staff. Very clean rooms and well kept grounds. Very relaxing. Entertainment staff is extremely friendly and tries to involve daily participation. Good wifi throughout.

Nice resort for a stay with family and friends. Food is quite good, although a wider variety would be much appreciated. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The beach is quite big, with lots of space for the family, although a little bit more of shade would be great. There’s a kids club well equipped for the little ones, my kid enjoyed it a lot The entertainment/animation staff were also very friendly and had several activities to keep the guests entertained (bingo, trivia, contests, among others). Annet and Angel were great at this area!

Loved our stay. Great clean beach with lots of beach chairs. Good food. Friendly attentive service, particularly from server Reyna, who was so sweet and enthusiastic and even practised to remember our 6 Canadian names. Safe walking distance to Playa del Carmen. Planning to come back next year as our stay was so splendid.

The Good: Exceptional Staff The staff at Hotel Allegro truly made our stay memorable. From check-in to departure, every team member we encountered was incredibly friendly, warm, and genuinely hospitable. Their attentiveness and positive attitude stood out, and it’s clear the hotel invests in creating a welcoming culture. This was by far the highlight of our experience. The Disappointing: Service Animal Policy Unfortunately, we encountered a significant issue with the hotel’s service animal policy. Despite having a legitimate service animal and the property having adequate space to accommodate dogs, the hotel refused entry. This was not only disappointing but also deeply distressing for our family. Hotels should be aware of and compliant with service animal regulations, and this experience fell well short of expectations. The Concerning: Food Quality & Health While the food was acceptable in taste, we had serious concerns about quality and variety. Five members of my family experienced food poisoning during the first few days of our stay, which significantly impacted our vacation. Additionally, the menu was heavily dominated by fried and high-fat options with limited healthy alternatives. For guests with dietary preferences or restrictions, this could be challenging. Overall Verdict: The wonderful staff couldn’t fully compensate for the service animal refusal and food safety issues we experienced. While I appreciate the hospitality and friendliness of the team, the other concerns—particularly the health-related issues; make it difficult to recommend this property without reservation. I hope management addresses these areas for future guests.

Checkin took waaay too long for a 30 people group, 40 minutes. Getting into the room took 1,5 hour because the door was not working. No other room given to solve the problem quickly. Eventually security needed to repair the door. It's not a pleasant way to start your stay. You need a lot of patience and you better speak some Spanish. Otherwise it is a nice place..
