Overall we had a very nice stay at Athena Palace and there were many positives. The rooms were great, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for our family. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, welcoming, and whenever we had a small issue it was handled quickly and professionally, which we really appreciated. The location and views are beautiful and there are many employees who clearly work hard to give guests a great experience. A few areas could be improved. The resort activities were very limited compared to other resorts we have visited. We also found the entertainment program was almost entirely focused toward French-speaking guests, even the posted activity notices were only written in French. This made it difficult for non-French-speaking guests to know what was happening or feel included. A more international approach would make a big difference. Also, many of the extra games and activities around the resort came with additional charges. We would avoid spending money in the resort gift shop. Instead, we recommend walking a few minutes down the street and supporting the lovely older lady at the small local shop , she was extremely kind, friendly, and deserves the business. Overall, Athena Palace is a beautiful resort with great rooms and many wonderful staff members. A few improvements with guest inclusion and activities would make the experience much better.

We stayed for 1 week and all in all it was a beautiful experience. I’d start with the positives: the location is incredible, postcard views of the bay, blue water, amazing vegetation. The resort is bungalow style and it’s great because you feel very private - you get to walk a lot and that is healthy in an all inclusive setting ;). The rooms are comfortable, very clean with a minimalist design. The shower is great. I want to extend a special thank you to the staff (reception & restaurant) - they are very service minded and if anything is not working just call the reception and it will get fixed: room exchange, amenities etc- top! There are 2 a la carte restaurants - worth trying out, the view and service is even better. I would like to address some improvement points: the rooms could use small upgrades like wall hooks in the room to hang some clothes and shelves in the wardrobes- sadly we only had coat hanger rails… not practical. The food: all in all it was good but you could make some improvements on the pastries& pies: everything was under-cooked, the pizza was not good despite a very good oven. Personally, I would remove it from the menu: it’s Greece, not Italy, you have such amazing local food. There was A LOT of choice and ideally you would focus more on less choice & better quality. Recycling: all drinks by the pool were served in non-recyclable paper cups - not only do they look cheap, the drinks taste worse. A transparent reusable plastic cup system would be much classier and environmentally friendlier (it’s a 5-star resort..). Same for the water: why not install water fountains in the resort and provide all guests with reusable water bottles instead of giving out 1 x 0.5L plastic bottle / day/ person? Thank you for a very good week and for such kind staff - you make the real difference! Bianca

The views at this hotel are absolutely stunning, but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. All of the activities, such as pool tables and basketball arcade games, cost extra, which was really disappointing. The entertainment is honestly a complete joke—I wouldn’t even call it entertainment. The entertainment staff were rude and seemed uninterested in their jobs. This hotel is clearly aimed at French guests. As an English guest, we felt treated very differently, which made us feel unwelcome throughout our stay. The food was average at best, and the all-inclusive drinks were the worst I’ve experienced. The selection is very poor, and if you want a proper cocktail, you have to pay extra. It feels like everything comes with an additional charge. We stayed for 10 days, and for the amount of money we paid, it simply wasn’t worth it. If you’re looking for a fun, friendly, and genuinely all-inclusive holiday, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Sadly, I definitely wouldn’t return.

I highly recommend Athina Palace Resort and Spa! This hotel is incredibly beautiful and spacious, making it easy to enjoy long walks around the property. We celebrated our honeymoon here and were completely satisfied with our experience. The staff is wonderful and always ready to help. Our room was clean and beautifully appointed. The food was delicious and offered a great variety. We enjoyed walking to the beach, but there is also transportation available if you prefer. The sea and the beach were pristine and well-maintained. Additionally, there are bars by the pool and on the beach, enhancing our relaxation. Thank you, Athina Palace Resort and Spa, for an unforgettable stay!

Pros – The views are absolutely stunning and were the highlight of the stay. In fact, after seeing the scenery here, many other locations around the island felt far less impressive. – The beach is clean and well maintained. – The food was good, with plenty of variety and dining options available throughout the resort. – Overall, the property itself appeared well maintained and generally delivers on what it promises. – There is a car rental service provider at the hotel. Cons – The arrival experience was not ideal. The staff member transporting our luggage accidentally dropped our suitcase onto the asphalt, leaving it scratched. In addition, he seemed unfamiliar with the resort layout and was initially unable to locate our room. – Housekeeping was inconsistent at times. Towels were occasionally not replaced, and once the floor near the door area was left visibly dirty after cleaning. – Hygiene standards in the dining areas need improvement. Plates were frequently dirty, and on one occasion the underside of a plate was covered in a thick, sticky residue. Unfortunately, I did not notice it immediately, and it ended up staining my clothes. – Entertainment options were very limited and not particularly engaging, and most of the activities and shows appeared to be aimed at French-speaking guests.
