We had a great stay at this resort. We were there for 3 days and still barely explored the entire place. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We had a jacuzzi on our balcony that we ended up not using because it didn’t look fully clean, but I’m pretty sure if we had asked, they would have taken care of it. The location is quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Patong, which we preferred. It’s walking distance to Freedom Beach, and there’s a 7/11 about a 3-minute walk away for snacks and drinks. Just note: you’ll need transportation to get into town. We used scooters, which were much faster, cheaper, and honestly a really fun experience. Service was fast, the pool was nice, and the staff were exceptional. Abhi was especially great, and all the staff we interacted with were really kind and helpful. The 24/7 buggy service was super useful (and necessary) because the hills are intense, but the buggies always came quickly. Overall, a beautiful resort with great service and a peaceful location. We’d happily stay here again. Also the fire show was neat on Friday evening!

We stayed at Avista Hideaway Resort for 4 nights with my partner. Top tier facilities, environment and aesthetics. The establishment is a great escape of the noisy center, hidden in the forest but not too far from th center. The staff made sure that we had an unforgettable experience giving us a warm welcome with smiles and kindness, always supportive and attentive. Special shout out to: Kimmy who ensured that we always had what we wanted and took the time to show us the hotel, Sasi who made sure that we leave the hotel with an unforgettable experience, and Elia who whenever met us made us feel like home by caring about our holidays and our stay. Our stay at Avista Hotel in Phuket was truly memorable. The property, set beautifully on a hill, offers a peaceful escape surrounded by lush greenery and calming hill views. It’s the perfect blend of serenity and scenic beauty. A special mention goes to Goldi, the head of the buffet, who made our experience exceptional. His infectious smile, warm greetings, and genuine care stood out every single day. He constantly checked on our preferences and went above and beyond to ensure that our Indian-style breakfast was perfect—right down to having fresh masala chai ready for us without even asking. Thank you, Avista, for the hospitality, and heartfelt appreciation to Goldi for making our stay feel like home away from home.

The room condition was honestly very disappointing. One of the two sinks and the shower were completely clogged, so the water wouldn’t drain at all. I informed the front desk several times, but the issue kept getting overlooked and wasn’t fixed until I asked to speak with a manager—three days after check-in. This really affected the overall quality of our stay. Communication among the staff also seemed to be poor. Even simple requests like towels or ice were often missed, so I had to ask more than once each time. Considering the location and the level of service we received, I’m not sure this hotel is worth choosing. I will say that the bell desk staff were generally friendly. However, most of the front desk staff were not very welcoming, which made the experience even more disappointing. The only exception was a staff member named Butter. Butter was incredibly kind and genuinely tried to help guests. When my family had trouble with a taxi, he even helped us in the rain. We were truly touched. Butter, I hope you’re doing well—thank you so much for your help. And thank you for the handwritten letter in Korean as well. It meant a lot to us.

My stay unfortunately started on the wrong foot. The first room I was given had a very strong mold smell, and the walls showed signs of dampness. After raising the issue with the hotel, I was “upgraded” to a jacuzzi room, which I initially appreciated. However, the next day when we tried to use the jacuzzi, the water had a swamp-like smell, which was extremely unpleasant and disappointing. The hotel overall feels dated and in clear need of renovation, certainly not delivering a 5-star experience. Breakfast was good, but despite asking guests about dietary requirements in advance, they don’t actually accommodate them. For example, I’m lactose intolerant and couldn’t find any lactose-free yogurt available. The restaurant food is average and overpriced. They charge premium prices for Western dishes, yet the quality doesn’t reflect it — the pizza, for example, was just bread with cheese and an excessive amount of oil. Additionally, two people in our group experienced food poisoning, and we suspect it may have come from the hotel — either from the ice in the drinks or something at breakfast. We ultimately left disappointed. We had hoped this resort would be a relaxing retreat, but it turned out to be just average, comparable to many 4-star properties in the area. It’s a pity because the place itself looks beautiful and has so much potential.
