Bon Sol Hotel Resort and Spa

I really wanted to love this hotel. I had it on my saved list for a least two years and based on the reviews it seemed like a really great hotel with all the amenities needed for a relaxing holiday with family. The structure itself is pretty remarkable in size, location and history but it is severely lacking in some well needed maintenance. There is an unavoidable smell of humidity and moisture in the hotel, and even the rooms, which is tolerable with a bit of A/C but there seems to be a gap in maintenance for other important areas. The larger kid play area had broken play sets and was overall neglected, one of the pools was filled with pine needles and debris, it had broken jets and had a large drain cover that was partially exposed leaving a large hole at the bottom of the pool. A concerning issue when traveling with children. However the main pool was well maintained and managed well by the lifeguard. He was very attentive and kind. The evening dining was adequate in terms of selection and quality but there seemed to be some miscommunication with the service. Several times we were forgotten and unattended to while forgotten dishes or drinks were also an issue. The breakfast had a limited selection of food options and wasn't great. The only redeeming quality about the breakfast was the egg cook. He was very cordial and great at preparing eggs to your request. The service staff was equally polite and friendly. There is a lot of confusion around the parking. Several times our key did not work to enter the area and there were often cars that had to double park but reception did not have any information as to whom they belonged to delaying your exit. I think the biggest disappointment was the reception. Almost every person we interacted with was incredibly short, unfriendly and at times a bit condescending. A real shame as these are people we had to regularly interact with for information or help. Overall a big disappointment for what we had hoped to experience. There were too many issues to ignore that something is really missing from this hotel which didn't allow us to have the holiday we had hoped for. The price of our stay was not in line with what you would receive from another four star 'S' hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

We just got back from our first trip to the hotel yesterday. It was our first trip away with our baby and it was everything we hoped for. We had a family suite which gave us lots of space and the proximity to the beach and the beach restaurant was ideal. All the staff we met seemed genuinely keen to make our stay as positive as possible and were on hand to provide help as needed. The location of the hotel is great, super close to the airport and ideal for those early morning walks with our baby. We went full board and the food lived up to our expectations although we weren’t able to use the restaurant in the main hotel as my partner hadn’t bought any trousers and we weren’t aware that that was a specific rule. The hotel has a lovely feel about it very family orientated and relaxing. We definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking to have an easy holiday with kids in a welcoming and pretty environment.

The best hotel in Majorca!! This trip was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The staff are incredibly friendly, service was great, food was incredible every night and the hotel was lovely. Everyone was so friendly here and made the stay really special - they even gave my parents an incredible anniversary whilst we stayed there! The pools are lovely and the hotel is easy to get around once you know the lifts! 100% will come back and a special thank you to Paula, Herby and Christian who made the holiday really special and made us laugh! They are great assets to the hotel.

We loved the size, air conditioner, and service in the room. The mattress was hard; we wish it had been more comfortable to sleep on for eight days of our stay. The breakfast was the same everyday and the location is great with public transportation available every 10 minutes by the 4 bus to Palma. The hotel needs modernization all around for the price we paid. The hotel is too big to get around if you are not able to walk. The hotel should upgrade and have assistance available when you arrive. The hotel is not a 5-star; I am not sure why other people would rate it that way. The staff was friendly. The entertainment every night was good. The taxis do take a long time to pick up. The places we visited were beautiful, so after being out all day it was awesome to walk into a clean room with cool air. Great time in Mallaco.

We had the most wonderful family stay at Hotel BonSol and genuinely can’t recommend it enough. We’ve travelled to lots of hotels as a family, but this was the first time we stayed somewhere that we only left the hotel once during our entire stay. There’s something incredibly special about BonSol. Being family owned, it has a warmth and personality that you just don’t get from other hotels. By the end of our stay, we genuinely felt like we were part of the BonSol family ourselves. The food was incredible, the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. A special mention has to go to Vicky, who checked us in and was so warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. And if this review doesn’t quite explain just how much we fell in love with BonSol, we extended our trip 3 times which probably says it all. A huge thank you to the lovely Bon Sol team for the most beautiful stay x
