We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Finest Playa Mujeres. The property is beautifully maintained, and the food was genuinely good — much better than we expected from an all-inclusive resort. Unlike many resorts in Mexico that can feel loud and party-focused, this one offered a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We upgraded to the Finest Club, which I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quieter, more refined experience — especially when it comes to drinks and service. It made a noticeable difference. While a few areas of the room could have used some minor updates, it didn’t take away from what was overall a wonderful experience. My only real suggestion would be to incorporate more Latin-inspired music in the evenings to enhance the ambiance. All in all, we had a great stay and would happily return.

My experience at Finest Playa Mujeres was very disappointing and did not meet the expectations of a resort that markets itself as luxury. During my stay, I experienced a preventable safety incident involving resort staff. I was handed a cup with a boiling water lid that was not properly secured by an employee, which resulted in a burn injury to my finger. This injury was severe enough that I now have a permanent scar as a result of the incident. The burn significantly impacted the remainder of my stay, ruined the trip, and prevented me from fully participating in activities for the rest of our vacation. Following the injury, I reported the matter and made multiple attempts to communicate with the resort regarding what occurred. Unfortunately, I did not receive meaningful follow-up. To date, the resort has not addressed my concerns or provided a resolution. From a guest safety and risk management perspective, this was extremely concerning and not aligned with what I would expect from a resort of this caliber. More broadly, I found customer service during my stay to be inconsistent and slow to respond to guest concerns. Given the price point and brand positioning of this resort, I expected a much higher standard of communication, accountability, and attention to guest safety. Additionally, this trip was intended to celebrate my birthday, and I brought my entire family with me, with the expectation of a special and memorable experience. During our stay, we repeatedly requested that a simple “Happy Birthday” sign be placed on our room door. We observed that other rooms had these signs displayed. Despite multiple requests, this was never completed, which was disappointing given the nature of the trip and the effort made to celebrate at this property. Based on my experience, I would not return and would not recommend Finest Playa Mujeres.

The resort itself was awesome, my family enjoyed our time. The food was so disappointing. Hibachi was really good, but everything else was mediocre at best. We have been to Excellence Resorts many times in the past and the food was amazing. The food at Finest PM was simply not good. Meats were tough, over cooked, and tasteless. The buffet was not well maintained at the Market with many bowls empty on the line. This is not what I have been accustomed to with the Excellence Resort brand in the past. I’m not sure we will consider another vacation with this brand if this is the new norm. I am seeing tons of other reviews now talking about food quality. They will lose tons of business if this is not corrected, and fast.

We expected better for paying top dollar for this resort. Although there were many positives, the negatives outweighed them and we would not return. For the amount we paid, we expected hot food. The food was never hot. The staff seem unhappy, which doesn’t let your week flow cohesively. The resort is full, and I mean full of babies and screaming children. This is the clientele they cater to. With no dinner buffet open, all restaurants were full of unhappy toddlers and parents because they couldn’t get a quick meal for the little ones, and frustrating for people without children having to listen to it. From 5:30 am, the sound of crying babies filled the air until late at night when young children were screaming. There are no fans in the rooms so not even ear plugs will drown out the noise. For top dollar we expected much much better. Hidden top-shelf liquor most of the day then only to be found at 1-2 bars at night. Really? Limited liquor at pool bar. Why when we paid the amount we did was there not 5 star offerings and service? Shows were limited, the dance bar smelled of sewage, no hooks in the bathrooms, dirty plunge pools. And even though the food was good at Dukes….. the scraping and dragging of the chairs at every meal non-stop from the staff sweeping under the tables!!!! Why?????? People are eating. The service, food, drinks, and hospitality received from this hotel does not match the exorbitant price they charge. It is a 3 star, not a 5 star.

We were at the resort for our son and DIL's wedding, and we had the absolute best time!! We were there for a week, and Finest was able to accommodate all of their wedding guests/families. There are so many people to acknowledge, but sadly I didn't get everyone's names. We can start out with the wedding coordinator, Sergio, who did a fantastic job of which our son & DIL were extremely pleased with. The wedding was seamless and beautiful, as well as, all of the other activities associated with it. Thank you Sergio!! All of the staff at Finest were very kind, helpful, and efficient, but here's a few I wanted to highlight for their extra care: Margarito - breakfast server Geraldine - yoga instructor Alberto - server at Surf N' Turf Fernanda - Pilates instructor Lucerita - server on the beach Front desk staff & cleaning staff My family and I would definitely stay here again, and we just want to thank everyone at Finest Playa Mujeres for making our stay unforgettable and for ensuring our son & DIL had a beautiful wedding!!
