Came here with my partner in June for a week. I don’t feel like the negative reviews are very accurate. We were half board but only had breakfast. For some reason it’s more expensive just for B&B. Breakfast was absolutely fine! Plenty to choose from. Never struggled to find a table. Can’t comment on the evening food as we never had it. The room was nice. We had a big room with partial sea view which was completely blocked by palm trees but oh well! I wouldn’t say the rooms are as dated as people are making them out to be. Our room was absolutely fine, big, loads of wardrobe space and big bathroom. The staff on reception were very helpful and polite. Never struggled for a sun bed around the pool. Really short walk to shops/bars/beach and around a 30-45 min walk into Puerto Del Carmen. Reception can book you a taxi too.

Enjoyed our third stay here at the end of September and, once again, had a great time. Ok, it needs a little tlc here and there, but look beyond that and the hotel has a lot going for it - great location, great facilities and great staff. Always a good selection of food at all meals, always able to get a sunbed regardless of when we went down. The only thing we would like to see is more hotels becoming smoke and vape free - from the evening entertainment bar to the pool bar to the pool area, we were often subjected to other people's smoke and vape. This issue isn't unique to this hotel, just wish smokers and vapers would be more considerate and stick to designated areas. Despite this, we look forward to our fourth visit sometime in the near future...

We have just returned home from a weeks stay at this hotel (2 adults and a 3 year old) although we would not return to this hotel we would definitely return to the area and a different hotel. Starting with the positives, relatively clean and room was spotless cleaned everyday. Staff are lovely and very helpful, especially on the last night when we had to call a doctor out as my child was unwell. The area of Matagorda is lovely and quiet, perfect for children as there are no cars on the front, beach is not too big or crowded. Bikes easy and cheap to hire, the park across the road from the hotel is amazing! Now onto the negative, the hotel does look rundown from the outside and certain areas inside. We had breakfast a few times but always left hungry, did not attempt to eat the evening meal although my child did one night and it looked awful! Other hotel guests act like vultures around the buffet. Can be very loud at night time, children running around and screaming clearly not being watched by their parents. Don’t bother going to the pool after 10am because you will not get a sunbed. We ended up having to do what everyone else did and put towels down before breakfast! Although we only got to visit the pool 3 times in a week due to this. Baby pool very dirty, bits of dirt and bugs floating around and god knows what else, convinced this is how my child became unwell. Overall would not return to this hotel but has not put me off the area. If you are used to all inclusive and are not fussy then this hotel may be fine but we like to venture out and relax not have to fight for sunbeds. Cannot fault the staff at all, although they could be stricter with some guests!

Me and my family including 3 children all different ages have just got back from this hotel and after reading the reviews we were really worried. However we had nothing but a positive experience! Firstly, rooms were clean and comfortable. (In need of a paint but does not in one way affect my holiday) The pool and pool area was always clean and able to always find a sunbed. Staff were always super friendly. Entertainment in evening was good other than the kids disco could be a little earlier and have music on in the background before everything starts. Food was as you expect from an all inclusive, tasty and always something to eat even for one of my children who has additional needs but yes slightly repetitive but again what all inclusive isn’t repetitive. The bamboo Chinese buffet was brilliant, definitely worth a visit! As well as the burger bar, their chicken burgers were amazing! The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, the water features and nature all inside definitely makes it one of a kind. I am writing this review as all of the reviews I had seen prior were bad and this hotel does not deserve the bad reviews it has got. I hope whoever is reading these prior to their holiday ignore all the bad and enjoy their holiday just like we have! Would definitely go to this hotel again!
