⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed at this hotel last week and, putting the serious concerns aside, the hotel itself is lovely. The rooms were great, the food was excellent and overall there is a lot to like about the resort. Unfortunately, our experience was seriously affected by concerns about two members of the animation team. One member is a blonde man, around 30, with his hair pushed back and tattoos. During our stay, I witnessed behaviour towards young female guests that I found extremely inappropriate and concerning. The second is another blonde member of the animation team with curly hair who frequently wears aviator sunglasses. I witnessed him grabbing a female cleaner in the dinner hall. She appeared visibly distressed by what happened, and from her appearance I would estimate that she was very young, possibly around 16. I sincerely hope hotel management will investigate these incidents properly and take the appropriate action to ensure that both guests and staff feel safe and respected. As a parent, this is particularly concerning to me. My daughter is of a similar age to some of the young girls staying at the hotel, and I would not feel comfortable bringing her back while these concerns remain. It is genuinely disappointing, because the hotel itself has so many positives. The food, rooms and facilities were all very good, but unfortunately the behaviour I witnessed has completely changed my view of the hotel. For that reason, we will not be returning.

Lovely hotel with fantastic hard working staff. Room was lovely as we requested a sea view - and what view 😍, great feeling falling asleep listening to the waves. Food choices were excellent with a wide ranch of choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner - was never hungry. Honestly can’t understand previous reviews slating the food - loads of choices to accommodate various visiting countries. Tip - book Fusion restaurant on arrival - Mexican and Asian nights were awesome and again, great options. Bar staff were fantastic and worked hard at peak times, yes there may be queues but you weren’t standing for long due to excellent bar staff. Sports bar could show more range of sports and games - maybe something to look at to stop people going into bars outside hotel. Pools were all clean and plenty of loungers. Spa area was amazing, perfect way to relax after long morning walks - would recommend full body massage to start a relaxing holiday. Would also recommend you adventure out the side of hotel and walk along coast / hills to discover beautiful beaches and stunning views - a trek worthwhile 🥰. Overall fantastic experience and everything we wanted to chill out and relax. Big thanks to all the wonderful staff 😎👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We arrived midday after an early start. The check-in was about 30 mins, but we couldn't get in the room until 4 pm. That aside, we went for some food in the restaurant and were warmly welcomed. One of our party had some allergies and the restaurant team were on it, with the manager bringing out the Chef to personally review what could & couldn't be eaten by our daughter.Very reassuring! A great selection of hot and cold foods, there is plenty of choice, even for a picky eater. Our room was spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. A poolside bar and snack area have a great selection and the sports bar on the upper floor has a balcony, great for a cheek drink before your evening meal. The staff are friendly, very helpful and hard working. The resort is a leisurely 20 mins walk from the Marina along the coast walkway were you will find shops, with markets on Wednesday & Saturday. We would certainly return to Sandos Papagayo.

We keep coming. The evening meals are very good, the lunch time is average, breakfast is good. The facilities are good, in recent years the hotel hasn't looked as beautiful as years ago, however you can see investment is being made and improvements are clear to see. There's a reasonable amount of choice of alcohol within all inclusive, more than some hotels and less than others. The location is a great balance, quiet enough to feel tucked away, but connections to the beach/shops are easy. Some parts of the hotel are unbelievably beautiful typical of 5 star hotels. I feel there is an opportunity to create a park/splash zone/water park elements in the hotel. With the right investment and effort the hotel could easily become a 5 star hotel, equally without it, it could become a 3

Had a great stay at Sandos Papagayo Hotel. Very quiet location. The staff were lovely and the hotel itself was very clean. The food choice and quality was excellent. I had a lovely seaview it was nice to leave the door open and hear the waves at night.
