Review: We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights with my husband and our 1-year-old daughter. Overall, we had a nice time, but I personally would not choose to stay here again. The main issues for us were related to convenience for families with young children. The elevators were very slow, and the main ones were quite narrow, which made it difficult to move around with a stroller. We also paid extra for a sea-view room, but the view was quite limited, with a road in front and only a small glimpse of the sea, which was disappointing. The room itself did not have a bathtub, only a shower, which made it inconvenient for bathing our baby. Housekeeping was generally done daily, however, we had an unpleasant experience where a pair of shoes went missing. Although we did not report it at the time, it affected our trust and comfort with room cleaning services. On a positive note, the staff were mostly polite and tried their best to help. The location is good, as the city is nearby and easy to access. However, overall, we felt the prices were quite high for what was offered. Breakfast had limited variety, especially for those who do not eat pork. Dining out was also expensive—for example, a very simple dinner for two with drinks cost around 80 euros, even in the low season (19–26 April). In conclusion, while we had some good moments, the value for money and certain aspects of comfort did not meet our expectations.

Fantastic stay – highly recommended! We had a wonderful time! A special mention to Celeste from the reception—after her warm and helpful email contact prior to our arrival, she gave us such a wonderful welcome in person. The entire hotel team was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The property leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. The snorkeling was fantastic, and the kids had a blast. We would love to come back!

I am currently staying at this hotel and feel compelled to share what happened today. I left my wife by the pool while I went back to our room for a short time. When I returned, I found her extremely distressed, visibly shaken, and on the verge of tears. My wife suffers from anxiety, and the way she was treated by a member of staff had clearly had a significant impact on her. While sitting quietly by the pool, she was approached by the lifeguard and questioned about why she didn’t have a towel. Caught off guard, she became flustered and struggled to answer. He then demanded her room number. In her panic, she accidentally gave the wrong number. As I had taken the room key with me, she had no way of immediately proving she was a guest. Rather than handling the situation with any understanding or discretion, she was told she needed to leave the pool area and was further challenged to provide proof of her reservation on her phone—something she couldn’t do because I made the booking. By the time I returned, she was an anxious mess. What should have been a relaxing holiday experience became a humiliating ordeal. Instead of feeling like a valued guest, she was made to feel as though she had done something wrong simply for sitting by the pool. I fully understand that staff may need to verify that people using the facilities are hotel guests. However, there is a huge difference between carrying out a routine check and treating someone in a way that leaves them feeling intimidated, embarrassed, and afraid to return. As a result, my wife no longer feels comfortable using the pool or any of the hotel’s leisure facilities for the remainder of our stay. That is incredibly disappointing given that relaxation was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. To make matters worse, there are groups of children regularly shouting and screaming around the pool area without intervention, yet a quiet guest sitting alone was singled out and made to feel unwelcome. This experience has completely overshadowed our stay. If you’re looking for a hotel where you can relax and feel comfortable, I would suggest considering other options.

We recently stayed at Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis in one of the apartments 004. Overall, we had a lovely stay. The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views, and the facilities are clean, well maintained, and cared for. The spa area is fantastic, and we also appreciated that food was waiting for us when we arrived late it was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The apartment was well maintained, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. The only downside was the noise from neighbouring apartments. I appreciate this is largely down to other guests rather than the hotel, but perhaps some additional soundproofing could help improve the experience. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was very poor throughout our stay. It rarely worked in either the hotel or the apartment, which was disappointing as the hotel advertises Wi-Fi throughout. This is definitely an area that needs improvement. Breakfast was very good, with the freshly made omelettes being a particular highlight. Dinner, however, was a little disappointing. The menu and selection didn’t appeal to us on many evenings, so we didn’t always feel we got good value from the half-board option. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. There was one member of staff who was a little abrupt with my 9-year-old son after he accidentally dropped a paper menu, but aside from that, everyone made us feel welcome. I had been slightly concerned after reading reviews suggesting the hotel wasn’t child-friendly, but that certainly wasn’t our experience. While it’s a peaceful hotel, families are made to feel welcome. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The beautiful setting, excellent spa facilities, cleanliness, and thoughtful service outweighed the few negatives. With improvements to the Wi-Fi and perhaps some extra soundproofing, this hotel would be even better.

Lovely stay overall - still a favourite, with a few hiccups This was our third stay at Son Caliu and it won’t be our last. The hotel is still a beautiful, relaxing spot and we really appreciate the thoughtful touches (we even received a small welcome gift for being repeat guests). Our standard room was great - clean, comfortable, and well-equipped - although a bit noisy at times from corridor traffic. The pool and beach are still highlights, with a lovely chilled vibe on the beach especially. That said, the pool area felt busier than previous visits, with some larger groups not always being mindful of noise levels. We tried half board for the first time and unfortunately had a poor experience on the first night due to a lack of understanding around a nut allergy and limited flexibility with the menu. It felt quite rushed and stressful, so we chose to eat out for the rest of our stay. There are some great options nearby, and breakfast at the hotel remains excellent. Spa facilities were a nice addition on our last day, and a couple of staff deserve a special mention - Danny on the bar, and a lovely lady at the garden bar, both of whom were fantastic. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely return - but will stick to bed and breakfast next time.
