The rooms are clearly dated, barely AC. But you're not going there to stay on your room. The main beach is well shaded but rocky, mossy, and sometimes trash floating around, but it is great for seeing fish, hermit crabs and marine life. The other beach is slow slope, perfect sand but less shaded. However further down the right side and avoiding sea urchins is a great 10 and ~17 foot cliff jump spot just above an in-cut and cave near a low slope rock outcrop. Food is good and consistent, no complaints there. Staff is very helpful and plenty to do for kids and parents. Drink service is very limited to only about 10 drinks, don't ask for a Mai Tai, they don't now what it is. The consistency of the drinks varies between bartenders. They will even make the lemon daiquiri with limes instead of lemons. Definitely a great spot to forget the stress of trips and just sip Sangria all day.

We had a really lovely five night stay at Iberostar Waves Cala Barca. We are a family of four with two kids, boy and girl, aged five and seven. We spent all day everyday at the pool, the kids loved the bouncy dome pool in particular as the are really high energy kids thay love water. We as parents were able to relax and get to actually read our books while the kids had so much fun right in front of us. The food in the hotel is great, always lots of variety and lovely fresh salads, seafood, grilled meats etc. We really enjoyed the Mexican on a few occasions, lovely food and much calmer vibe than the main buffet. We got really lucky with our room on the 3rd floor looking out at the sea, sunsets from our balcony were fab. The beds were really comfortable, even my kids remarked on them. Our room was cleaned everyday, so nice to return to in the evening. The beach was a short stroll from our room and I took an evening dip every day, really peaceful and clear water there, albeit a bit rocky as you enter the water. We actually didn't leave the hotel during our stay as we really didn't want to, which normally never happens. We always rent a car for day trips, but this time we were enjoying relaxing too much to leave! Special mention to Panne (sorry if spelt incorrectly), the manager who really went out of his way to look after my daughter with lots of special deserts and icepops as she is dairy intolerant, made her feel really special! We can't wait to return in the future and highly recommend for families!

We recently visited this resort as a last minute family holiday. We can’t recommend the hotel enough! The hotel itself is amazing and the facilities are great particularly if you have younger children. Ours are 3 and 4 and have had so much fun. The staff have been absolutely amazing too with Pani(y) helping us organise our trip to Palma and giving our girls some colouring books for the journey. He has been brilliant during our stay! I would also give a mention to Juan at the restaurant who has given us great service! Thanks again all. We’ll be coming back and recommending to everyone we can l!

We stayed at the Iberostar Club Cala Barca in June 2026. While the location is beautiful, our trip had some serious downsides that I wish I knew about beforehand. Here is what you should know: Food: If you’ve been to other Iberostar hotels, you might be disappointed. The food selection here is much more basic. Seafood is rare, and we only saw smoked salmon at breakfast once in 13 days. Also, there were very few berries or fresh fruits. But grilled fish was everyday The Room: The rooms really need an update. Our toilet broke during our stay and had to be fixed. Also, the furniture is not child-friendly—the corners of the bed in the living area are very sharp, and we kept bumping into them and getting hurt. Mini Disco: It happens at 5:30 PM by the pool, but it is way too crowded, slippery, and the music is extremely loud. My child was scared of the noise and the crowd, so we couldn't go. Health: Unfortunately, my child got a stomach infection at the hotel. She was sick with a high fever for three days, which really ruined part of our vacation. The good stuff: The hotel grounds are huge and lovely, with lots of pine trees and shade, which is great for walking. The view of the sea is amazing. The beach is nice, and the water is clean and warm. We really enjoyed the dining options, especially the Mediterranean restaurant -it’s much cozier and has a lovely terrace. The Mexican restaurant was also a very convenient place for lunch. We also liked the bar, the cafeteria, and the animation team, who were great. The shop on-site was very useful to have. The housekeeping team was excellent our room was cleaned every single day, which we really appreciated.

We stayed here with two other families and we were 6 adults and 4 kids under 5. We had a wonderful 10 days at this resort and would definitely recommend it to families. Pools - There is so much choice with the pools. We mainly stayed around the splash pool/activities pool/bouncy pillow one as our little ones were obsessed with these. There is also x2 pools down near the stage with a baby pool too which are long and thin with steps but they do get very deep quickly. There are also some other pools located if you are further up the hill in the other accommodation. Food - There are 4 restaurants on site which is great. The only one you have to book is the beach one and I think this is due to the view. They are themed but I would say sometimes you wouldn't be able to tell they are which I think the hotel should make sure they keep to it for example in the Mallorcan we had Mexican food in there one night but I would expect it to be all Mallorcan or Spanish. Can't fault the quality and choice of the food though, there is something for everyone. The food trucks were such a good touch by the splash park and we used them every day. The Ice cream shop is lovely and also went here every day. The main restaurant has a playground attached which is fab for the kids so you can let them go and run off some steam once they finish their meal. Also if you have an early flight home they provide breakfast (it is continental) as the restaurant is open all through the night. To Improve: It would be nice to have benches in the playground by the main restaurant and keeping to the themes of the restaurant e.g don't serve Mexican in anything other then the Mexican etc. Rooms - They are really lovely and spacious. We were in 72 block next to the recycling centre but you couldn't smell anything bad and we were a short walk to the main set of pools. The maids were excellent and made sure our rooms were lovely and clean. Entertainment - Overall the entertainment, kid's club and animation team were excellent. There was a huge amount to do from fitness, to making things to team sports and lots for the kids of all ages. My only complaint would be that the mini disco was in the splash park and I don't think that worked well at all. It should have been on the little stage by the food trucks. To Improve: Location of the Mini Disco & need barriers or screens by the main pool during the shows in the evening. Other - You can do Kayaking or Paddle boarding for free down at the beach. There are also if you have toddlers some kid toilets in some of the rest rooms but not all - would have been good to see them one every location. Overall we had a great stay, we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this hotel to anyone with families :)
