Our stay at the Melia Palma Marina was exceptional! From the minute we arrived, we felt welcomed. The pool facilities are amazing, with the pool bar serving cocktails and drinks. It is about a 40 minute walk from Palma centre but taxis are cheap and the walk is very nice along the promenade. Breakfast was lovely, a huge selection and lovely dining area. The room was clean and modern, and the super king bed was incredibly comfortable. The only thing I would say is that the TV is not a smart TV which would’ve been nice, and there is only a plug on one side of the bed. Besides that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

For me one of the best hotels franchises. You cannot go wrong at Melia. This one in Palma - Mallorca was just a great experience. Every employee that me and my wife encountered, was so helpful and kind. Shelli, Helena, Waleria, Rosana and the other girls from “The Level”, the made , that took care of my room, the other one that gave us chocolates every night (sorry if I did not catch up your names) were so dedicated.

I am writing to complain about the way my friends were treated by staff at this hotel. My friends are 16 years old and were told to leave the hotel late at night. The way the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. They were not treated with care, respect or basic understanding, despite being minors in a foreign country. Staff spoke to them aggressively and did not properly explain what was happening. Instead of trying to help or de-escalate the situation, they made it worse and left a group of teenage girls feeling scared, overwhelmed and unsafe. The most shocking part was that staff told them they would have to sleep on the street for the night. Saying something like that to 16-year-olds is not only deeply inappropriate, but also irresponsible and frightening. No hotel should ever put minors in a situation where they feel abandoned and unsafe, especially away from home. Regardless of any issue that may have happened, there is a safe and professional way to deal with young guests. This was not it. The lack of care, communication and responsibility shown by staff was extremely concerning, and I would not trust this hotel to treat young guests properly. I am very much hoping the security guard does not get to work here anymore. Someone who should give the guests a safe space does the opposite? Not ok.

Great location, walkable streets. The hotel is huge, perfect for conferences. The gym was well equipped! Highly recommend the spa, a bit pricey for the options but convenient if you are staying at the hotel. The only bad thing is that the ceiling was all dented like if it melted by the sauna / private area. Plenty of authentic breakfasts/brunch places around the area, no need to pay for a $25+ buffet.

Our visit started very positively as the foyer area and reception is quite spectacular and beautifully decorated. We arrived at around 10:30 and met a lovely gentleman at reception. our room was not ready, we had booked a balcony, so they offered us an upgrade to a marina view room and it was well worth the €25 per night. Spectacular view from the balcony and overlooking the pool. Only drawback was on the Wednesday night when a team of workmen began cleaning the pool area, starting just before 5am and going on till well after 7am. Erecting scaffolding platforms, dragging chairs, chatting and laughing and then power hosing. No warning or apology from the hotel for the disruption. Pool area was also beautifully laid out but the pool was too cold to swim in comfortably and we are used to Irish seas. The Moss restaurant was lovely, nice view on to the Marina. Menu was not huge but was lovely and well priced, as was the wine at between €4.50/€5.00 a glass. Caesar salad was the nicest I ever had. Good sized helpings. lovely servers. Of the 2 nights we were there one waiter was willing to cater to my sister's allergies, the other was not. A nice touch was a voucher for 2 drinks. Do not use at the pool bar, a glass of wine there is €9.00 - complete rip off. We then received a letter inviting us to an information meeting with Elena re the Melia hotel. We were given a cup of coffee and a biscuit but then we were handed over to a gentleman who began to try and sell us an annual subscription to the Melia group. We would not have gone if we had know this. Unfortunately we chose our second last day to spend by the pool. We ordered a lunch of caesar salad which at €15.50 was quite unpalatable, a mess in the bowl and nothing like the one in the restaurant. This gave me the worst bout of food poisoning I have had in my 62 years. I had V&D for 14 hours plus and behave very dehydrated. My sister went to reception at about 10pm for help and was told categorically that it was not food poisoning from the bar. They did agree to give us extra towels. My sister and I are both nurses so we know food posioning when we see it. I could have sought medical help but I knew there was not much more they could do bar giving me IV fluids but we would have been in danger of missing our flight. My insurance would have covered me but not my sister and she wouldn't leave me on my own. She approached Elena at 10am the following morning asking for a later check out as I could not get out of bed. Elena was willing to help but had to defer to a manager SANTIAGO who said no and again did not accept that I had food poisoning. My sister said the only place I had eaten since early the evening before was at the pool bar so there was no doubt. Elena went to bat with Santiago and he eventually agreed to 2pm. My sister asked for some water for the room and she was told to go to the mini market. They keep stressing they are different as they are family run and offer a better service than corporate. Not from what we experienced when we needed help. I often travel alone and if this had happened me alone I don't know what I would have done. It took the whole good out of 2 days of a 5 day break. When I came to check out Santiago did not even ask me how I was. He was curt, rude, offhand and to say the least unpleasant and totally devoid of customer care skills. We had said at the start of the week it would become a place for short breaks for us, but not now. Would be slow to try any Melia hotels.
