The Meliá South Beach is a truly beautiful and modern hotel located directly on the beach. What impressed us the most was the location – it really couldn’t be better. The breakfast is fresh, very extensive, and leaves nothing to be desired. The pool area is large, clean, and perfect for sun lovers – absolutely ideal for my wife and me. The only small downside is that the famous Nikki Beach is right next door, and the music can get quite loud already around midday. It didn’t completely bother us, but it’s something to be aware of. The staff were all extremely friendly, especially at the reception. Since I speak a bit of Spanish, communication was very easy, but the team also speaks good English. We decided not to take the Meliá upgrade this time – but we definitely will next time. It was actually my first time staying at a Meliá hotel, and since then I have also visited the Meliá Vienna and the Meliá Vinpearl. A brand I have truly come to appreciate. Highly recommended for anyone looking for beach, style, and a modern atmosphere.

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel in my entire life. The staff at the front desk are incompetent, rude, and the hotel is honestly terrible. The first day my partner and I arrived, we were very early to check in; we had no expectations of getting our room but were told it would be ready in 1-2 hours. We were fully ready to wait until 3 pm and lounge by the pool but since the room was going to be ready soon, we were happy and went to get lunch in their restaurant. However, things went downhill very quickly after that. We came back to the front desk after 2 hours and a different person at the front desk was surprised we hadn’t already been given our room key. She said our room has been ready for some time and gave us the keys and welcome items and we took our luggage up to the room. However, the room was already occupied- there was a bunch of luggage and someone’s personal items in the room, and when my partner went downstairs to alert the front desk they had given us keys to SOMEONE ELSE’S already occupied room, they had no reaction and said we would just have to wait another hour. I stayed up on the floor waiting for the person who’s room they had given us access to in case they came back to alert them, and for twenty minutes the hotel did not even care two people had the keys to someone else’s rooms and belongings. finally i went back down with my partner dragging our luggage (no one even offered to help us bring it back down) and that’s when I got truly upset, because when I went back up to the front desk, the girl acted like the issue was that ‘our check in time wasn’t until later’. She threw two free drink vouchers at our faces. Imagine changing in your hotel room and two random people come in. Side note, I look quite brown as did the other upset person in the lobby. i heard the other person say this was the worst they have ever been treated and they have traveled around the world. white people were treated very well here from my observation. do with that what you will. long story short someone named patricia came out and helped get a room, bring our luggage back up, and assist. she was literally the only decent human being there that day. however, the ac didnt work, was fixed once by a technician they sent, and then didn’t work again, made insane banging noises the last night. the water is only either really burning hot or really cold. the junior suite is a nice room but literally it was one thing after another at this place. the strip the hotel lays on is basically a drunken bachelor party (not the hotels fault obviously) and is quite obnoxious. there was sand left in front of the elevator for two whole days as if no one cleans the place. some other things happened that were so incredibly obnoxious but this getting long. i’d also appreciate if melia didn’t respond to me or this review.

I was a bit hesitant about booking this hotel after reading some of the reviews on Google, but after staying here for a week, I can say that the property is very nice and clean. The location is great for those who enjoy the nightlife — not quite my cup of tea, but totally understandable that it’s the designated district of the city. The music and parties usually wrap up around 11:00 pm, so it’s not too loud or disruptive, and the area feels very safe. Most of all, Christina at the reception made our stay truly memorable. Her service and hospitality were second to none. She went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of — a true ambassador of Meliá, representing the brand’s caring spirit and 5-star service. Truly amazing!

This property is fantastic!! They had really good music, rooms were very spacious and clean, the balcony was really nice and relaxing and in a perfect spot. Staff was always helpful and attentive. The gym was very handy. Really cool nightclubs in the area and restaraunts.

This was more of a 3 star hotel, I don’t feel this qualifies as a 4 star hotel whatsoever. The room could use some rework. The shower had severe wear and tear. The water in the shower was either too cold or too hot, no middle ground. The bathroom has a glass door which is all see through from the main room, with no privacy. The elevator was quite dirty all the time. The staff were friendly though. They charged me tourist fees when checking out that hadn’t been informed upfront. Lastly, they charged us for stuff from the mini bar that we did not even consume. Id look for another hotel when coming back to Mallorca in the future.
