Terribly dirty. Especially toilet and bathtub. Room had detergent smell but visually it was easy to spot cleanliness issues. Toilet was leaking. Neither of these issues were addressed when we raised the concerns. I met with two other families and I heard the same thing from them. It took 2 hours to check in. It was impossible to reach front desk by phone. My son enjoyed mini aqua park and indoor playground a lot. Ocean temperature was great but too much see-weed and waves. We generally focused on the good side and enjoyed it after the first day’s shock but never would go there again. Another interesting thing is that they took us their sister hotel saying that “you will just see it and book it yourself by half price. No pushing.” and tried to sell us seemingly-low-cost vacation club package asking for more than 4K CAD down payment. Lady was quite aggressive especially when I didn’t accept it.

I was disappointed with my stay at Occidental Caribe. The views and the ocean breeze were beautiful, and I also enjoyed the pool area, but some days the pool did not look clean. The rooms are very old and need renovation. The bathroom also did not have a toilet brush, which was inconvenient. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the food. The Mexican restaurant was very disappointing, and the Italian restaurant was not good either. There was also very little customer greeting or friendly service. Communication was another problem because most of the workers spoke only Spanish, so it was difficult to ask questions or get help. The best parts of the resort were the views and the breeze, but overall, the rooms, food, cleanliness, and customer service need major improvement.

I have visited many resorts in different countries, but my experience at this hotel truly stood out. Last week, I stayed here with my best friend, and I am already planning to return with my entire family. I discovered paradise! I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The pools were beautiful, and the beach, lined with palm trees, felt like a dream. The food was very good overall, and the Japanese and Dominican restaurants were outstanding. The rooms were comfortable and met our needs well. While our room temperature did not go below 25°C, we usually keep our home at 24°C, so it was only a minor difference and did not affect our enjoyment of the stay. Overall, I fell in love with the country, its people, and especially this hotel. Thank you for making our visit so memorable. I will cherish the experience and look forward to returning soon.

This will be a long one…………This was my 3rd time to Punta Cana and my other two visits were nice, last visit being in 2016. This was a family vacation so there were 16 of us including a 10 yr old and a 15 yr old. Before you leave home make sure you save your trip confirmation number because it seems as they don’t use your name and you will not have internet access to look anything up. Once we sorted out the free transfer I mentioned that my sister was coming in a day late and should also have a free transfer… this ended up being an issue the next day. Once we arrived to the resort there was a long line and only 2 people checking in, so expect to wait. The check in girl was very helpful and we didn’t have any issues. The rooms were okay nothing spectacular definitely need to be upgraded and lack extra outlets. The beds have to be a full so it was tight with two people in a bed. Depending on your room your air will be on but not really on. The resort is pretty and right on the beach. The pools were clean and they did have distinguished pool areas for little kids. There were some helpful staff members but the majority were rude and used the “no speak English” to walk away. The food was okay but they will only let you have a certain number of reservations depending on how long you stay which was completely off to me. We were there from Sunday to Friday and could only make two reservations, which means your only other option is the Buffett. Don’t expect to order a certain drink because once you actually get their attention the bar tenders will shove the QR code of drinks they make in your face. The best fun my family had was the off resort excursions, they were a blast and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I understand I am in another country and want to experience that culture but it seemed that if you didn’t speak English they could care less what you needed. The vibe of the people was completely different. Won’t be returning to the DR.

When given a room, it was leaking from the roof when it rained. Moreover it was leaking on top of the bed. Was told that it would be fixed and had to stay until it rained again. The next to last day of my leaving, it was fixed but not on top of the bed where it was still leaking. Then they offered to change rooms, but I was leaving the next day anyway. Security is so tight, they wouldn't let my guest visit me. Hired an excursion and they wouldn't let the bus through. Friend was going to come and blow dry my wife's hair but they wanted to charge me $70 to let her through. When visiting the town, they looked at my guest bracelets but still were wondering if they should let me through. Thought they would do a cavity search on me. Hot water is limited during the morning (6:00 AM) Rooms were smelly because of a floor drain which apparently does not have a p trap. Check in is super slow. Apparently did not anticipate demand even though I was part of a party with reservation. Air conditioning is pre fixed with no adjustments permitted. Internet was down most part of a day, leaving no TV. Kids were kicked out of pool at 7 PM with no other activity. Staff in unhelpful and not trained. Left a puddle on the floor while cleaning that almost cost my wife to slip. Was sent l message from management saying was sorry my stay didn't meet expectations. Wanted what they could fix even though I had told them already what the problems were. READ and see the problems.
