Stayed at the Hideaway for a week in Feb 2026. I was honestly surprised at the not so great reviews... We don't usually stay at resorts, so maybe that's why? We loved it. All the staff was *extremely* friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were great (with a large selection) but perhaps people were expecting the same food as they get back home. I heard people complain about the steakhouse, but we did not go. We went to every other restaurant, and they were all delicious and well presented. The buffet was also pretty large with lots of selection, including ~9 trays that featured local cuisine (at every meal) which I very much appreciated. The beach/bay/view were beautiful. You can borrow items like water bikes and snorkel gear for free, and I thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling in the shallow areas and seeing tons of tropical fish, urchins, even an octopus and a squid! It seems that there are "unwritten codes" when it comes to resorts (which seem ridiculous to me) so that might also be dropping some of their ratings, but the Royalton's rules are clear on their website so not much else to be done there. Would absolutely recommend for people who like resorts.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel for my mothers birthday and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. While the property itself is beautiful — the grounds are well-maintained, and create a relaxing atmosphere — the rest of the stay did not live up to expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was unacceptable. The baggage handler at check-in treated us as if we were second-class citizens. The clearer complex visitors got their bags brought to their rooms first despite my family and I waiting there before the other visitors arrived. They even got the little carts to take them and we had to walk to building 4 with our luggages. The greeter spoke warmly and respectfully to my white counterpart, but when addressing me, his entire demeanor noticeably changed. The difference in treatment was both uncomfortable and deeply concerning. To make matters worse, my sister and my one year old nieces room had a strong sewage odor that was impossible to ignore. The elevators frequently did not work, which was extremely inconvenient especially for my 82 year old grandmother to get to the 5th floor and the WiFi was unreliable and very slow. Additionally, the cleaning staff did a subpar job — the room did not feel properly cleaned or refreshed during the stay. It’s unfortunate because the beautiful grounds have so much potential, but the poor service, maintenance issues, and unpleasant room conditions completely overshadowed what could have been a lovely experience. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made. I must say that the staff at the Gourmet Marché was amazing. Thank you to those ladies.

What a beautiful place to vacation. The staff is amazing and attentive. Great food and plenty of choices. Our favorite places to eat at was the buffet and the food truck on site.. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO EAT OFFSITE, GO TO THE NAKED FISHERMAN!! Our Butlers, Kaysha and Augusta were so pleasant and attentive...Koodoos to them. Housekeeping did a great job on our rooms and were respectful of our belongings. Great vacation and we are not ready to get back to reality.

Overall we had a good experience at this resort. It wasn't the best we've had, but it was good. Our butlers were good, the beach bartender was great and the food was ok. However, the two star rating is due to the fact that Customer service did not keep their word. Due to snow storms in the United States and flight cancellations we were two days delayed getting to the resort and we called each day. We extended our stay by two days so we would not miss out on our vacation and we were told that the first two nights would be refunded. After about a 20 day email and phone call frustrating correspondence we were denied the refund. The Hideaway rep told us we would get the refund. Her word should have been honored by customer service.

Recently stayed here for a week between work trips. Overall the all inclusive resort was welcoming, clean and offered all of the amenities that you’d expect for a Caribbean resort. We enjoyed a romantic dinner on the beach and our wait staff Sacha was above amazing with her service and hospitality!!! The best meal of the week! Unfortunately, had to use the medical services while there and the nurse and doctor were compassionate and highly knowledgeable! (If you’re allergic to insect bites highly recommend bringing repellent)
