We stayed at SALT for six nights, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to share stories and insights about Mauritius, which made our stay feel even more authentic. One of the highlights of our trip was the cooking class with Chef Shiva and his team. We were also treated to delicious Mauritian fried noodles by “Sweet Mommie” (a nickname we happily gave her!), and they were absolutely amazing. During the class, Chef Shiva taught us how to prepare Chicken Briani the traditional Mauritian way—just as a Mauritian grandmother would make it. The team at the Boathouse were equally fantastic. They helped us arrange additional water sports activities beyond the complimentary options offered by the hotel and also took us on the fish-feeding excursion, which was included in our package. I would highly recommend the Full Board package, as there are not many dining options within walking distance of the hotel. Having all meals included made our stay much more convenient and enjoyable. Another memorable experience was learning how to make a fizz bomb with Pushpa, which was both fun and unique. Overall, SALT made our first visit to Mauritius truly unforgettable. The warmth of the people, the incredible experiences, and the genuine hospitality ensured that we left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for both the hotel and the island. Highly recommended!

We chose Salt of Palmar to celebrate a bachelorette getaway, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we received an exceptionally warm welcome from Mr. Dheeraj, whose hospitality immediately made us feel at home. The hotel is full of charming, Instagram-worthy corners, perfect for capturing memorable moments. We also loved the thoughtful touches, such as the complimentary rosemary, sunscreen and water refill stations, which added an extra level of comfort and care to our stay. What truly stood out was the attentiveness of the staff. Their genuine kindness and dedication to ensuring guests have a wonderful experience made us feel valued throughout our stay and left us already looking forward to returning. And then there was the food-absolutely outstanding. Chef Mounien’s culinary talent deserves special recognition. A guest who usually avoids fish declared the fish dish their favourite meal, while another who isn’t fond of vegetables happily finished every bite on the plate. The passion fruit sorbet was simply unforgettable-if I could have taken a tub home with me, I certainly would have! A huge thank you to Mr. Dheeraj, Chef Mounien, and the entire Salt of Palmar team for making our celebration so memorable. If you’re looking for a beautiful beachfront escape with exceptional service, thoughtful details, and incredible food, Salt of Palmar is a destination I highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The food was exquisite, and the Mauritian menu was a delightful surprise. The dishes were beautifully reimagined with a modern twist, you would hardly believe they were inspired by traditional Mauritian cuisine. The creativity, presentation, and flavors were exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Dheeraj, Mr Rewa and Chef Moonien for their outstanding hospitality and dedication. I recently spent a night at SALT of Palmar with a group of friends and had an exceptional experience. The service was outstanding throughout our stay, and I would especially like to thank Mr. Dheeraj, Mr. Gool, Mr. Dharam, and Mr. Rewa for their attentiveness, and warm hospitality. The culinary experience was equally impressive. Every dish prepared by Chef Moonien was beautifully presented and exceptionally delicious. His interpretation of Mauritian cuisine was both unique and innovative. What truly sets this hotel apart is its ability to elevate the Mauritian experience through thoughtful attention to detail, authentic hospitality, and a refined approach to local cuisine. Overall, it was a memorable stay.

We had a wonderful stay, and what truly made the experience unforgettable were the incredible people working at the hotel. I hope the supervisors acknowledge that every day. Rohit showed true and genuine hospitality from the very first moment and always made us feel welcome at any time of the day. His kindness and warm attitude created such a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. Vika is an absolute gem! He brings the positive energy of the boat house everywhere he goes whether on the beach, on the balcony, or even after work while heading home and seeing us walking towards Belle Mare. Thank you for making us smile every single day and for sharing your amazing vibes with everyone around you. A very special mention also goes to Heeroo, who is truly one of a kind. If service had a name, it would probably be his. He constantly made sure that everyone on the beach had everything they needed and was always there to help with a smile and genuine care. His dedication and professionalism are exceptional. And finally, a big thank you to Ritika and Jibran for a massage treatment experience that was close to perfection. You are both absolutely brilliant :-) This hotel is lucky to have such amazing staff members. They are the reason guests feel so special and want to come back again.
