The location of the hotel was excellent - its located at the end of the road, so its private and secluded. Overall atmosphere is amazing - you can fully relax as personell take care of everything you need. From the first moment we arrived, we were welcomed very warmly by Front Office Manager Mr Krishna. Special thanks to Mr Kamlesh - he was our waiter during dinners and the service was superb! He is kind and welcoming, always there to assist. In addition - Mr Selven took care of us, always being friendly and attentive. Also “beach/pool guys” - Rudy and his team - always welcomes you and offers everything you may need. Another mention goes to entertainment team - Mr Ivanto and his squad made those aqua gym sessions faaar from what you imagine - super energetic and playful, but also gives you effective exercises to remind that this is not a relaxation session 😅 Rooms may be a bit outdated, but they are cleaned very thoroughly, cleaned twice a day. Lots of space and all rooms with a balcony/terrace face the sea! Food - just wow! Every night its different theme buffet and the food is prepared up to highest standards. If you doubt that buffet style catering could disappoint - these chefs will change your mind. From freshly baked naan breads to fish being grilled before your eyes! 10/10 and you can fully relax, no need to think what/where to eat tonight!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here, honestly the best decision we made. After a hectic 6 months of wedding planning and events we wanted a resort with all amenities and just relax. Sands Suites was the perfect choice, the rooms were great, food was delicious and the property views are breathtaking. They have direct beach access and it’s mostly like a private beach. The resort has numerous water activities such as paddle boarding, snorkelling, water skiing etc that are included and the staff takes safety precautions seriously. There’s nothing to complain about the staff or resort, it was just the perfect place to spend our time. Would love to go back soon. Regards, Karthik Jonna

Mins blowing. I stayed at Hilton Flic en flac and Lux le morne as well but Sand suites is insanely good. It is slightly smaller than other resorts but amazingly sufficient. We reached resort at 12 , entire management was there to welcome us. The room was immediately ready, check in formalities were done if the comfort of the room. Every ream is sea facing.. Amazing.. huge bathrooms. Amazing food. Breathtaking hill drop in infinity pool background.. zero negatives. Super Amazing hospitality. We had to checkout early morning at 5:30am. They arranged breakfast at the restaurant and not packed like other hotels. Awesome!!

A few issues which would make this a 4.5 A staff member said, thinking we were Italian, they had a small hatred of British, French and Dutch because of the past. This was fairly shocking to us - and she clearly realised what she had said and done when we pointed out we were from the UK. Raw chicken in one of the restaurants sadly, which I had to leave - the staff very quickly whipped it away. We’ve also asked 4 times for our invoice and have yet to receive it - once at check out, once over the phone and twice via email. Other than that… It’s the best location on flic en flac and the service is generally very good. The resort is smaller than the others so it’s much less crowded and nicer. Mauritius is lovely and the west is very green and considered an ideal spot to explore all of the island. Rooms were large and decent with some nice touches like a pillow menu. Pool and beach activities a bonus - the snorkelling hour by boat included and a highlight. Spa was good, and the breakfast very good and dinner decent - you can always find something you like from the menu on that particular night.

We spent 14 nights at Sands Suites Resort & Spa on a half-board basis and overall had a wonderful and very relaxing holiday. The hotel grounds and beach are beautiful, peaceful and exceptionally well maintained. There were always plenty of sun loungers and fresh towels available, and the service around the pool and beach was friendly and pleasantly unobtrusive. Our Superior Room on the second floor was very spacious, well equipped and offered a beautiful direct sea view. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we particularly liked the large bathroom and dressing area. However, there is some room for improvement regarding maintenance and attention to detail. There was a persistent unpleasant smell in the separate toilet, one washbasin drained very slowly, and the shower area had noticeable limescale marks throughout our stay. The daily room cleaning was generally good, but some corners could have received more attention. A real highlight was the excellent food. Breakfast offered a great variety, and the themed dinner evenings were fantastic – especially the Mauritian, Indian and Asian nights. During our two weeks, we never felt the need to have dinner outside the hotel. We did find the drinks rather expensive (around €9 for a 0.6-litre beer and up to €18 for a glass of red wine). On a few occasions, we also felt slightly uncomfortable when declining additional drinks. This may not have been intentional, but we believe guests should feel equally welcome regardless of their choice of drinks. Most of the staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive, and our arrival was particularly warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, our departure felt quite different: when settling the bill and checking out early in the morning, we missed even a simple “Thank you” or “Have a safe journey”. After a two-week stay, a warmer farewell would have been a nice final touch. Overall, we had two wonderful weeks and would recommend Sands Suites Resort & Spa, particularly to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to relax on Mauritius. The excellent food, lovely surroundings and many friendly members of staff clearly outweigh the areas for improvement. With a little more attention to detail, the experience could be truly outstanding.
