I recommend this hotel 100/10. The service, rooms, and pool were absolutely amazing. The reception staff were always friendly, helpful, and smiling—they were always ready to help or give advice. The rooms were cleaned every day and were always spotless. The food was always different and, most importantly, very delicious. The hotel is close to local shops and the beach. It feels like a quiet and peaceful location, but if you walk just around the corner in the evening, a completely different nightlife begins with parties and fun. If I could, I would happily come back and stay at your hotel for the rest of my life :(( ❤️ I truly love your hotel 🙏🏻❤️ and I was very sad when I had to leave 😢😢😢

We just had our first time at Sol Barbados and we were quite disapointed. We had no internet for our whole holiday, the food was not so great...not to many choices for children under 2, and some dishes felt off(very hard to chew or not so fresh or tasty)....I was actually sick for the las 2 days due to the bad food...There is an open buffet between lunch and dinner and that was terrible...mostly cold food and not so fresh again, those burgers are a joke...I can better eat my slippers. We had one night when the restaurant had more choices like sea food or more tasty fish...nothing compares to the restaurants nearby which offer nice, fresh, tasty food. The programme for the pool is between 10 and 6pm but threy start closing at 5:30 pm and you feel very rushed. The staff from the pool are a bit rude and not allowing medium floaters for children. Just small ones allowed. We havent't been informed that they have evening artistic programme so we didn't go to any of their activities. For first time tourists would be nice to inform us about any artistic programme or childrens's activities. Not everybody goes around the hotel to find out what is going on. All the aldults shows are very late, around 9:45 pm and for families with small children I find this quite late. The good points, clean rooms, nice children's pools but the big one is very cold... Close to the beach and the shops. Overall we didn't feel great....so probably we will not going back to this hotel. Regards, Mirela C.

Lovely clean hotel. Only trouble is you wait for ages for a lift. Great location. Lovely views from the 11th floor. Our room was perfect for 2 adults and 1 child. Staff are lovely. Food was nice and fresh. Didn't see any of the evening entertainment as we went out each night for a walk.

We got back from this hotel yesterday, and honestly, the food was 2/10. The fish was raw — I found it like that on two different days. Even when the meat was cooked, it was completely tasteless. The potatoes weren't fully cooked either and were still hard inside. The scrambled eggs were very runny on two mornings, had no flavor, and looked undercooked as well. The food selection was actually quite large, but what’s the point when half of it isn't cooked properly? The second major issue was the elevator. We were staying on the 4th floor with our 1-year-old child, and we often had to carry the stroller up and down the stairs. Especially in the mornings, when breakfast starts and the pools open, it's almost impossible to get an elevator. It definitely made everyday life more difficult. Of course, not everyone is very considerate either. Some people stand waiting for the elevator just to go down from the second floor, or take it from reception to the first floor... even though there are stairs right beside them. We only went to the pool area with the slides once because from 9 a.m. people are already reserving sunbeds, sitting by the gate, and waiting for it to open. But there is another pool area, and no matter what time you go there, you can usually find free sunbeds.

Sol Barbados is undoubtedly the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my whole life. I deeply regret, with all my heart, for choosing this hotel for our family vacation. We stayed for 10 nights on a HB basis. I don't know where to start... 1. Family of 2 adults and 2 children (17 and 12 years old), booked directly through the hotel's booking app back in January 2026, 2 hotel rooms. I requested rooms next to each other upon booking. Upon arrival at the reception at 23:10 there were 2 receptionists, and they didn't bother with our request to have our rooms with our kids next to each other. They wanted to put us on different floors. The female blonde receptionist was rude, and she told me, "Why didn't you book a family room if you wanted to be placed together? Your request is not a confirmation that you will be placed next to each other." I started to argue with her that any other normal hotel would have understood what such request made 5 months ago while booking directly with the hotel means. At the end, after 40 minutes of waiting, they managed to find us 2 rooms next to each other. 2.Quality and variety of food, dining room, hygiene in the dining room – all unacceptable by normal standards. We were on HB, but ended up eating outside because the dining room was a mess, with low quality food and leftovers or mixed things with suspicious quality. 3. The hotel was informed about our late arrival, but they did not leave us a bottle of water in our rooms. It was 23:40 after we checked in, and all nearby shops were closed. 4. This hotel does not have any Spanish entertainment, Spanish night, etc. You wont feel any spanish vibes here. 5. Housekeepers – they had to be chased every day to do basic, quick cleaning or to provide fresh towels. 6. The hotel is not safely secured at night. One night, a group of young drunk tourists tried to open our door and enter at 3.30 am and 4am. We found a young drunk man without a hotel bracelet (so he was not from our hotel) sleeping in front of our room, and we called reception. Next day we received a bottle of wine from the hotel team as an apology. Thanks for that, although we didnt drink it. 7. My booking is subject to a fraud investigation by the because the original email communication with the hotel was hijacked, and fake payment details were inserted into the same email thread. My computer and email were examined, and nothing suspicious was found. The hotel management and Meliá management were totally ignorant of my stress and financial loss and asked me to pay twice while the case is under investigation. My scanned passport was exposed in the same email thread with the Sol Barbados receptionist. Guest Relations Manager Borja is like a robot; he did not show any human understanding for our suffering, both financial and stress. Borja would have been happiest if we didnt arrive at all and just quit. But we didnt want to ruin the promissed holiday to our kids. Only one male receptionist, whose name I didn't ask for, compassionately wished me good luck when I filled out all the Hoja de Reclamaciones forms at the reception so I could report the case further investigation 8. Queues everywhere. For the elevators, for dinner. Unless you feel fit enough to climb several flights of stairs (luckily, we were on the 4th floor and not on the 12th). I used the lifts only twice as they were always crouded. Queues for dinner from the restaurant entrance to the yard. So you can imagine how elegant is to dine inside :). 9. All in all, we rented a car and tried to enjoy our holiday as much as we could, for the sake of our kids. I was happy when we left Sol Barbados. And when I submitted claims at various Spanish aithorities, the administrative staff told me that they have received several other reports about Sol Barbados this year. I wish I had known this before I booked Sol Barbados and chose another hotel so I would have saved myself and my family from stress and financial loss.
