The Resort is extremely beautiful. You can enjoy privacy in your room, especially the overwater nests and bungalows are sweet and quiet! The staff is friendly overall! The Operations Manager Ladislav Bartakovic is exceptionally kind, open and diligent. He personally took care to get a problem with our front door fixed as quickly as possible and his main focus was on us enjoying our holiday experience to the max! The breakfast is good, nothing that we missed. The dinner restaurants are ok, however nothing super special. We decided to go downtown for local authentic food every night - it's way less pricy and we found it more delicious. Overall a great and enjoyable stay, holiday time well spent for sure!

We had our honeymoon here and, very unfortunately, felt that this hotel is a bit 'style over substance' - all very instagrammable, but the overall service and little details were lacking for a 5* resort on the more expensive end of the scale. We had to make a noise complaint because of a very loud group of people in the rooms next to us, and while the reception staff seemed perfectly nice, they were almost actively unhelpful at first. I also sent a message via the app as directed that was never even acknowledged, and the staff themselves said it would "take ages for anyone to reply to that". I had to go back and forth to reception multiple times over two days to get it sorted. At one stage I asked to speak to a manager about it and was left sat in the lobby for 15 minutes before being told that the staff member had "forgotten to ask the manager to speak to me" and she had gone somewhere else. The service at the buffet and at the bars was hugely inconsistent - we were repeatedly not given any water at the buffet despite going up to staff and asking for some, sometimes service at the bars was prompt, other times it took a very long time to order a drink and even longer to receive it, which seemed to be either because of a lack of staff or because poolside orders were prioritised (or both!). We were also surprised that there is absolutely no savoury quick service snack-type food available anywhere at the resort, which meant that outside of restaurant opening hours and after 9:30pm, there was no food available unless you paid the room service fees for a limited menu and waited in your room for 45+ minutes for it. It took away from the flexibility of being able to eat meals outside of the normal hours which we have enjoyed at other all inclusives in Crete. On the plus side, the swim up rooms we had were very nice, the food was generally good (both buffet and a la carte), the staff were all individually perfectly nice and the drinks were all tasty. However, overall it didn't really feel like a 5* resort and it's not somewhere we would go back. Sadly we're not sure it's worth the money we paid for it (the Mitsis down the road is better in our view!).

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Stella Island Resort—truly one of the most beautiful and relaxing experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything felt luxurious, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. The resort itself is stunning. The pools, the architecture, and the overall aesthetic create such a calm and elevated atmosphere. It really feels like a private escape. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly maintained throughout our stay. The staff were incredible—always kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every interaction felt warm and effortless, and they really go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. The food was another highlight. With the all-inclusive experience, we were able to try a variety of options, and everything was consistently fresh, flavorful, and high quality. The drinks and service by the pool made it even better. What we loved most was how relaxing everything felt. It’s the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and just enjoy your time without stress. We’re already talking about coming back—this place truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious, peaceful getaway. Oh and make sure not to miss the nightly dance shows!!

From when we arrived in our transfer the staff were very attentive and was ready on the door to take our suitcases, we were greeted by all the staff and was given a lot of useful information about our booking during check in by Nickolas who continued to greet us every morning since checking in. While checking in we were bought over chocolates and cocktails. We did half board and the dinner and breakfast variety was incredible and staff was also very attentive at all our meals. Also as an extra on the first night as we had checked in late we were given complimentary room service which was very good. Nothing to fault about this hotel and was everything and more that we could’ve wanted.

We have just returned from our honeymoon at Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa and thought it was only fair to leave a review of our experience, which we would not class as 5 star. The hotel itself is stunning, just how it looks on the photos - beautiful and photo-worthy, however the service does not live up to this standard. We found the service across different restaurants and areas of the hotel to vary significantly - some restaurants you would be waiting 20+ minutes for just a drinks order, others were attentive and brilliant (Umami, La Parilla, Isla) - but it felt like every time you go for a meal it would be a case of pot luck as to whether it was going to be a good experience or not. The rooms are very small - we booked the most basic room type, but for £5k+ for 10 nights you'd expect the bathroom to be it's own room, rather than tagged on to the back of the bedroom. The balcony was lovely however, it just felt a little cramped overall - luckily we are not the sort of people to spend much time in the room as we like to be out and about. The cleaning of the rooms was consistent but stocking up the mini bar was not. There seems to be a drainage issue in certain areas of the hotel which creates an awful smell in the heat. The buffet was okay - not many options if you have a dietary requirement and can't eat dairy however, we did feed this back at the end of our stay, so hopefully this improves. We also found the service at the buffet to be quite inconsistent - the staff were absolutely lovely, however sometimes we'd be asked if we wanted a drink, sometimes we wouldn't, sometimes water would be left with us, sometimes it wouldn't. The pool is extremely shallow and still cold even in 30 degrees heat, not the end of the world but worth baring in mind if this is something which will bother you. POSITIVES: We had a lovely experience at the spa, we both had a massage and could not fault this. Drinks orders around the pool were fast paced, we felt really looked after here. The reception bar was of the same standard, shoutout to June and Kosmas. The indoor gym is great, new equipment, clean and well looked after. The staff themselves are lovely, there is no doubt about that. Gelato parlour is delicious. We read another review where someone had said the hotel is beautiful but lacks any soul, and we would agree. As mentioned the staff are lovely, however it feels as though there has been a lack of training in regards to service, in certain areas anyway. There were too many times we had to chase up drinks orders, or follow up wanting to order dessert. It feels as though Stella Island is more focused on what the hotel looks like and sharing breathtaking photos on instagram, than the actual service provided to guests.
