Really nice grounds in a well maintained hotel. Rooms are small but nice. The front desk staff are really helpful, but the restaurant doesn't have enough staff taking drink orders, etc., so it can take 10-15 mins to get water with dinner. Staff serving drinks throughout the hotel is very limited. Only one small bar is open by the main pool, and there's no there's no staff walking around the pools taking orders - this was pretty poor to be honest. Food was good but not exceptional- selection is fairly limited compared to many other hotels. They keep running out of things and there only seems to be one lady keeping food replenished. The gym is lacking decent kit. There's just about enough to get by with, but it needs updated equipment. The location to the beach is fantastic, and the beach/sea is beautiful with free sunbeds for hotel guests. Some of the rooms with apparent Sea Views are disappointing.

Looking at recent reviews I was a little concerned about my stay at the Island, however I had a great stay last week, I think there might be different expectations on what constitutes a 5 star hotel. We arrived late and the hotel had provided us with a snack in the room which was appreciated and not expected. We had a sea view room, but it was more of a side seaview but was actually more private than full sea view rooms. The room was of a good size with comfy beds - the bathroom is open plan but it seems this is normal in Greece. The choice of breakfast and dinner was good and you could always find something to eat and the staff were helpful. The pools were clean and there were always lounger spaces available, even when you arrived later in the day (3pm etc) there is also a nice beach in front of the hotel which you can view the fabulous sunsets. It’s also in a nice quiet location perfect for relaxing. We also had a great massage at the hotel spa! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and glad we weren’t put off my earlier reviews! We would visit again if we went to Crete in the future.

We stayed here for 9 nights, bed and breakfast. We had the most relaxing time. It was the perfect hotel for a chill holiday. Three lovely pools and the beach across the road, where we spent most of our time. Our room was a great size and was cleaned daily, with fresh sheets towels daily. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were a little surprised by some of the negative reviews previously as personally, we thought it was great value for money and a very pretty hotel. We had the most beautiful time!

A wonderful, luxurious, adults-only hotel. It’s located in a great area and has a really relaxing atmosphere — stylish and upscale, yet never too crowded or overwhelming. There are several pools and plenty of beautiful spots to unwind and relax. The room was spacious, with an incredibly comfortable bed, and we also had a lovely balcony. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Food and drinks could be ordered from different areas of the hotel, and everything was of very good quality. We had an amazing holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel!

Our first time in Crete. Had a fantastic time at the Island hotel. The staff were very friendly and provided an excellent service. Dimitri was an absolute gent and was always around to take an order of drinks. The facilities are excellent. The pools and outdoor sunbathing areas can't be faulted. George who booked us on 2 day trips to Santorini and Spinalonga was full of information and a nice guy. We will definitely come back here.
