We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it! The resort is in a great location with easy walking access to nearby restaurants or shops, if you want an alternative to the in-resort dining. It is also in a slightly quieter area of Lamai, which is what we wanted. Our airport transfers were seamless, the room was very clean, and the room access to the pool was fantastic. Highly suggest booking the pool access suite. The staff were very helpful and friendly - felt sad to leave them. Thank you Tam, May, Khoon, Man, Sea, etc (inclusive of every encounter we had at the resort) for being so warm and welcoming! I highly recommend this resort to unwind and enjoy the beautiful Koh Samui. We cant wait to come back!

My stay in Lamai was honestly unforgettable. I stayed in a private villa with its own pool, and it felt like having a little paradise all to myself. The villa was beautifully designed, super spacious, and very clean, with a perfect mix of comfort and tropical luxury. Waking up and stepping straight into my private pool was definitely one of the highlights. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, but still close enough to everything if you want to explore. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive without being intrusive, which made the whole experience feel even more special. One of the most memorable moments was the dinner by the beach at Ocean Pier. It was such an amazing experience - the setting was magical, with the sound of the waves, soft lighting, and a stunning view of the ocean at night. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, making the whole evening feel very romantic and unique. Overall, it was the perfect combination of luxury, privacy, and authentic island vibes. I would 100% come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special getaway in Koh Samui.

We’ve been coming to Koh Samui for the past 5 years, and unfortunately, this stay in Lamai will be our last—largely because of this hotel. We booked a pool villa package through Luxury Escapes for around $3,700 AUD, so naturally, expectations were high. Sadly, the experience didn’t come close to matching the price or the “luxury” label. The villa itself is spacious, but very dated. The outdoor pool area feels neglected, with broken and weathered tiles that make it clear maintenance hasn’t been a priority for years. The buffet breakfast was extremely underwhelming—far below what we’ve experienced at other hotels in Chaweng at a fraction of the cost. The food overall was disappointing; honestly, local street vendors offer far better quality and value. The main pool area was even worse, with loud ongoing construction that made it impossible to relax without noise-cancelling headphones. On top of that, the pool towels were worn out and barely usable. Basic amenities were also lacking—no complimentary water station, meaning you’re forced to buy water or bring it from your room, which feels unreasonable at this price point. Overall, this hotel feels run down and poorly managed. It’s nowhere near “luxury” and certainly not worth the price we paid.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lamai and overall it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning rooms, a calm beachfront, and an incredible private pool that really made our stay special. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and the Thai iced teas with almond milk became part of our daily ritual. The food was delicious, with the floating breakfast and spa as real highlights. The clear, star filled night sky was truly magical. There were some noise issues during our stay due to on site construction, and the rooms are unfortunately not very soundproof. However, the way this was handled made a huge difference. The manager was extremely approachable and kind, and generously offered us credit for part of our stay. As a result, almost all our meals, the floating breakfast, and spa experiences were covered, which we truly appreciated. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and a special mention goes to Fonny at the front desk, who was absolutely brilliant and made us feel so well looked after throughout our stay. Despite the noise, the beauty of the rooms, the private pool, the peaceful beach, and the exceptional service more than made up for it. We are definitely returning and would happily recommend The Lamai to others 🧡🙏🇹🇭☀️

We had a great stay at The Lamai Samui However there were a several things we noticed that could been done differently. 1. There was a female manager that came through the pool bar every morning and made the worker correct what he had done that didn’t meet her expectations and made him clean the floor again. (We observed this worker everyday and he worked hard!) 2. There was a man dressed in linen who looked very important (Kiki I think his name is) everyday didn’t communicate with any guests looked miserable and did nothing but look at the floors and walk away. Didn’t make our stay feel welcoming and relaxing. 3. Constant construction was next door that we were not aware of untill we arrived. 4. Staff were constantly taking photos of the work they had completed to prove to someone they had done their job. 5. Check out time was 12:00pm after asking if we could stay in the room for 1 hour longer, we were declined. Staff were going through our room at 11:20 and cleaning team were waiting outside our room from 11:30 for us to leave , the hotel team were aware that we didn’t depart from the hotel untill 1:25pm. We were sitting in the foyer for almost two hours with no offer of water or facilities. 6. The plunge pool left a slimy coat on my skin and wasn’t cleaned or water tested the whole 12 days we stayed in the room. Not worth paying the extra… 7. The location is far from main town of Lamai and costs 250-300b per trip in a taxi to get anywhere. I know this sounds like we were dissapointed (we were) however the rooms were clean , the pool area was nice , the staff, biggy in the restaurant is an absolute asset to the place! And Tam at the front gate was awesome! I don’t think we would stay at this resort again. Sorry team ! In my travel around Thailand and the world I was dissapointed with the whole experience. The Lamai is a big money making machine that doesn’t really care about their customers. 😁😁
